Why didnt he seek medical help?😢
I saw Raven play with Ministry in Baltimore in 2006. I went there mainly to see him. So glad I was able to see him, even if it was late in his sadly too short career and his health was declining. He definitely stole the show with his bass solo for the song "Kyber Pass" that I still remember to this day... I'd still say it was the best concert I've been to.
I want to see and to meet Killing Joke again ❤😊
Geordie got me wrecked Birmingham academy 1992 or so.
Bloody hell I didn't know he had died, I had a good conversation with him after a gig in 1992, he was saying to me that he likes gong , I had a gong badge on my jacket, then I met the rest of killing joke.😮
that's so cool that he liked Gong. Paul clearly had a wide range of musical taste. He is my favorite bassist and I am trying to emulate his playing style... but there will only ever be one Raven.
I was lucky enough to call him my friend.
After ignoring Killing Joke except for their 1st album and couple of early singles I have become obsessed with them. What an incredible band and remarkably intelligent group of individuals they are.
He speaks exactly like he sings.
The guy was an awesome bassist, RIP Paul Raven, you are missed still to this day
Nobody ever had a bad word to say about Paul.
Raven 🔥🤟🇨🇷
Well, no incrimination here clearly
One of the best talks ever. I've researched NDE for 5 years, and yes, the Soul does transmigrate into a different dimension. Jaz Coleman certainly has a Messianic aura about him.
👍 The guy's a Shaman! 🍄🔑🧩
Yeah was sad young n good baseman.n sorry for family n freinds.
wow!
8:39 What a way to close an interview😎 ...I think Coleman just helped me massively there... Grieving is tough. It's strange how introducing a new theory on death can comfort you so easily.. At the very least, I've learned to keep an open mind. Also, I've learned how boring my comments can be to read. Sorry
Not boring , your expressing your honest feelings 👍yes your correct listening to others express their feelings can help us with our own , death and how we perceive it !!! Spiritual folk tend to see death as a journey rather then a end myself included 👍💜🙏🏻✨☀️
Not boring at all mate, it's good to talk, I hope you're well 👍
R.I.P Paul - A Fantastic bassest.
Seen him twice at the QM (glasgow) , happy nights,pist@stoned birds were wallpaper 2 me...still ur x
Damn. I was house sound guy at a gig where RevCo was opening for a Ministry. Just looked it up. 7/18/06 and wholly shit just realized I had just gotten my new car exactly a month before(my BDay present to self). Wow. But THIS was the best BDay present ever for me cause it knocked three home runs right out of the park in one shot. Stagehand friend of mine to remain nameless (but nicknamed after a city in Poland) grabs me and says one of the guys wants to smoke a joint and we should sit in my car which was parked adjacent to the buses. Dude in the passenger seat looks like the real deal veteran rock n roller, and say he looks familiar and how would I put the face with whatever. He says in his heavy English accent, “Names Paul, Paul Raven.” And I’m like, “ you mean Prong Raven?” He replies, “well Prong, Killing Joke, Ministry....”, and I’m like realizing that not only after doing sound for too many years and working with rockstars who in my head were generally dorks or prima donnas, but almost rarely had I gotten to hang out or work with this kind of legendary shit. So he goes to twist one up and fumbles it so I pack bat hits and he proceeds to tell me that his,”mate has got the exact same car. This looks exactly the same”. And I’m like “who’s your mate?” He says, “Al”. I respond, “wow that’s pretty fucking cool but surely he had the SRT8 ultra hot rod version and he looked around and said, “no man, the exact same car, black, estate. (Wagon)He doesn’t need the hot rod one. This one’s fast enough!” I’m freaking out on the inside that I’m working with and about to witness from stage or wherever, two of my faves who I had previously assumed would never see live again. And having a production meeting with Paul Raven whIle he tells me that none other than the lead singer of Ministry drives the exact same car as me. Needless to say we busted ass working and then I busted ass playing, and then we busted ass working again loading out and those motherfuckers were so cool and fun it seemed surreal. Def a career marker. NEXT!!!
Strange. A book I was reading, while sat in the beautiful cemetery next to my flat a couple of hours ago, before watching this, mentioned Schrodinger's Cat. I hadn't thought of it for years. I like it when that sort of things happens.

"... and the rest of it , *smiles ... and here we are ... and here we are ... (along with his favourite Bong here by my side already packed full just waiting to be lit ... again) ..."
In 1980, Raven "psyched" me into "seismic-bass-playing" - it's a sound often tried but very rarely emulated. So, to me, he remains one of my musical references.
So sad to hear that he had heart problems and didn't seek professional help. Good bass player tho and genuinely a nice chap.
Indeed, Paul "is conscious, now, as we speak." Love you, Jaz!
Paul Raven glared at my friend and I at a club before a Ministry gig in 2004(?) Psilocybin notwithstanding, a moment I'll always remember. Now both Raven and my friend are gone.
I met Paul Raven in 2004.Spent nearly an hour with him talking about every thing Killing Joke. What a gent he was..And ALLWAYS will be.God bless you fella 👍

No Jaz Coleman, killing joke (& with decent tunes)
Working with Ministry and KJ, what a way to go, miss you Raven, may the fire burn bright for you, one great bassist.
+permaveg Let's not forget his work on Prong's best two albums as well.
Leb Heidenstrøm For real. First three songs are fucking epic!!! Turn it to 11 please! You want the good life, you break your back!
He is with me now. No Joke!
R.I.P Paul Raven you were a brilliant bassist
What did Geordie say at 1:50 ??
Awesome
Jaz is so dam cool... RIP RAVEN
I love Jaz and KJ since 79, but his views are a little simplistic at times and naive ... the mere mention that one of the band members has anything to do with the Rockefeller family ought to be of deep concern to anyone who loved KJ for their long time Anti Globalist stance - does Jaz get the irony of this statement at all?. I get the feeling at times that Jaz might well be happy to be a Global minion - what he hates is being on the outside ...
Jaz is only stating the obvious for most artists ... art is a form of occupational therapy, without it, many people would not function and would turn to crime or other activities deemed criminal by society.
Brighter than a 1000 suns on my walkman , got me through a shit underpaid factory job some years ago. not my fav kj album but thank god for it! rip paul raven.
Where is the dream where is the sanity
very interesting interview... The point about food production and self-reliance is the crucial subject. Natural population control and the manmade population control agenda are two different things...google the georgia guidestones to find out more about the heinous and insidious plot of the new world order (disorder
"Get the kettle on Coleman" - brilliant. R.I.P Paul.
Beautiful
5:21 Of course it is also that the Earth itself is hurtling a 1000 miles an hour, around the Sun. Vale de Lucem, Msr.Corbeau.
Cyrano de Bergerac would more proud than the mountain to which Mohammed went to hear of this man's wealth, even though he be but depicted of fiction.
Jaz- what is " Mainland China " ? Would you say "Mainland Russia" or " Mainland Czech Republic "..........China would like all of us to think that there are indeed other regions that they control i.e. Taiwan - but they have as much right to take Taiwan as they do your beloved New Zealand. China is currently pointing over 1,000 missiles at Taiwan. Talk of a "mainland" implies that there is also an island territory and this weakens Taiwan. Hong Kong has been assimilated. Taiwan is democratic.
"rebellion" only works so far and i think that's the whole problem with the so called "counterculture"; ppl waste a lot of time on REacting instead of ACTING according to their own Will. i figure if i focus on something i really feel it must eventually create some kind of synergy and communal empowerment. "going against" often just creates negative syn-/en-ergy and ultimately works against YOU thus weakening the individual and the surrounding community.
i agree about the apathy thing, but it's also a bit hard to "rebel" when all your time and effort goes into just being able to afford food and then some. i used to try and talk to ppl constantly about various issues, but usually just got shit thrown at me, so i stopped and decided only to focus my efforts on self realization.
lol ...to stop us becoming murderers...
