I have faux stone panels on the outside of my home. I've looked everywhere talking with multiple people on how to clean and steal. It's become discolored. Hoping you can help me.
The Alliance Gator people specify compaction of the bedding sand (by hand tamping) but in videos from professional installers they don't compact the sand. Can anyone explain?
Will the roller pick up the sand between the pavers?
Thanks for your question. Polymeric sand should be installed at least 1/8″ (3 mm) below the top of the paver’s surface or 1/8″ (3 mm) below the chamfer. The roller shouldn’t pick up properly installed polymeric sand. The sealer should be applied after the paver installation is complete. Most paver manufacturers recommend concrete pavers be sealed, 60 days after their installation date.
What happens if you exceed 18” on a seat wall?
What an outstanding video. I'm so glad I found it. I'm an Alliance fan now. Great job fellas 👍
Kindly put no music in these videos as it's hard to hear the instructions and is too loud when there's a break in his instructions. Thank you
Absolutely agree, could barely make out what was being said, very annoying😢
So much good info. Thank you guys!
This was a terrific video! Great information, well presented.. Thanks.
I left and washed my 747 came back and they still hadn’t started talking about the information I need.
I have a very large gunite pool in which I have flagstone on the edge of the pool and than a 1/2 inch concrete strip and than the cement sidewalk buts up against the concrete strip. I don't want the pool to ever lift up and Crack which I have to be careful when draining the pool. Is it best for me to fill in the Crack between the flagstone and concrete wall with sticking a mesh that the water won't go through? Or am I ok to not put a mesh there and just put the polymer said in there so it will flex when the concrete sidewalk moves and or papers move? Thoughts and recommendations are most appreciated. MaryLou
Should I use water based or solvent based sealer over solid water based stain for exterior concrete and should I use ammonia to stop the chemical of stain to continue activating after it’s dry
Hi, your video is really very beneficial for a novice like me to make an informed decision. Thank you. Just quick question. I was contemplating to wash my block paved drive. Quick questions (1) i ve been told not to use gloss sealer as, although it looks stunning but after a while patches starts to form. (2) Would it be okay to pressure wash block pavings using patio cleaner attachment? Thnx
How long does the Nitro take to harden up after installation? I installed this product yesterday and had rain overnight. The Nitro is soft on top still no wash out temps are 60s outside.
So my husband sealed our new pavers with the Gator Seal (solvent based) but there were a few that were still damp. He of course did not want to wait for them to dry and applied the sealer. Now these 5-6 brown pavers have the white underneath. I of course thought maybe just brushing on some more sealer to these would help. Of course it did not. They have 3 thin coats of sealer on at least 4, and 2 coats on the others. I purchased the Gator Clean sealer stripper to use on just these. If I get the sealer off, will it remove the white with it? Or do you just have to wait until the pavers dry completely (of course ) and reseal. And then will they not have the white underneath? Help 🙏
When my concrete was poured last year, they applied a sealer to reduce evaporation while curing. Is it okay to apply a sealer over that?
What if you have zero gap between pavers. Somebody tell me.
I am in rhe same siruation on some pavers
@@eliesergonzalez5051 it's all just common sense really. It fills gaps and hardens. No gap, no poly sand. Our condo courtyards are big areas with pavers butted together. I keep telling the condo board that throwing sand on them is nuts. Hopefully it will sink in. Unlike the sand. 😂

You guys have very different personalities and presentation styles, but they complement well. Very nice overview video.
Can you wet sand Polymeric sand? I see a lot of videos with wet sanding. But they never say what kind if sand they are using.
I don't think the distance between pavers was mentioned in the context of having pavers with flat surface butted up against their neighbors? We have a patio with 12" square pavers that have literally no gap other than the chamfer which is maybe 1/4". Sand won't even fit between. Is that a bad thing? Thanks for this informative video, I learned a lot!
How about getting paint off an old concrete surface? Used a power washer but won’t come off.
It’s just a poured concrete patio 16:35
Please go back to concrete brick cleaning and sealer
Two goats 🐐 🐐
interesting you let it dry on a white lid to show us how clear it is, I think doing it on clear glass would really show how it works.
Hola, pudieran traducir este y los demas videos en el idioma español , somos muchos contratistas de habla hispana. Tiene mucho lenguaje tecnico. 👍
What a great video, Thank you! Do you perhaps have any resources for removing both a solvent and water based sealant?
Thanks for your feedback. Solvent based sealers can be removed with a solvent like Xylene but water based sealers are more involved. If you want to speak with a sales or installation professional email us at info@alliancegator.com.
These guys waste too much time. They don't know how to get to the point. Skip the first few minutes if you want to get to anything worth listening to.
Thanks for your feedback, we have been making an effort to make our informational content shorter, check out our newer videos.
Open grade/Permeable base IS THE WAY TO GO! As they said, I very strongly recommend using biaxial geogrid in the 3/4'' clean angular stone! I've personally done my driveway and multiple patios, and this system is amazing (I used standard polymeric sand however for driveway for proper paver lock-up)! I still hear some hardscapers asking for a mix of 3/4'' stone and stone dust (stone dust is the worst)... and it just leaves me shocked everytime!
Thanks for sharing! We are glad you are having success with Hybrid Base installs and geo-grids.
When & where will Nitro be available in the Los Angeles area?
Send us an email at info@alliancegator.com letting us know you are looking to purchase Nitro and we can connect you with a local sales representative.
Why not sell the 5 gallon more all the dealer only have the 1 gallon jar😂
Living in Central Florida... idk how I'm going to get this job done.
For product information, to reach a sales or installation professional email us at info@alliancegator.com., we would be happy to help.
🤣
Awesome video! What is the shelf life of the G2 polymeric sand? I have about 20 bags that were purchased 2 1/2 years ago but were not installed due to unforeseen events. This coming summer I'll be ready to install but I would like to know if it's still good. Thanks.
Great information and great video! I have a newfound respect for efflo cleaner! One question I had is if there’s a sealer that allows natural stone to maintain that color change between dry and wet conditions after being sealed? I think I already know the answer, but wanted to ask the professionals! Only curious because I have a project where the flagstone looks great both dry and after it’s wet. I would love an option that allows that natural color change to happen after a rain or after getting wet from the pool, but I doubt that’s possible. Thank you, in advance!!
I had a guy from designer concrete, I layed down 600x400mm natural stone like a very light sandstone colour , this prick that has been in the business for 35?yesrs told me I could use his sealer .. acrylic sealer by the way now Her natural stone pavers are looking nice and shiny, but she doesn’t want nice and shiny. She wants some looking natural. Can you help?
We are sorry to hear that, if you still want to to reach a sales or installation professional email us at info@alliancegator.com .
Love you guys! Keep up the great work!
What do u use to waterproof the brick on the house ? I’ve pointed & I have no cracks but yet I keep getting leaks in my home so I would like to waterproof hoping it will stop the problem
Do I need slope 1 inch per 8 ft when using the panel?
When installing gator base you would still want to ensure a 2% slope in the excavation of native soils. alliancegator.com/gator-base/
So acrylic surface sealer is ok for manufactured concrete pavers yeah ?
Yes, we have sealers made from acrylic-based polymers that are suitable for dry cast concrete pavers.
That was very informative - thank you! I bought a home that had a flagstone patio which I wanted to expand - at the same time I needed to regrade the slope, because it went toward the house instead of away. I realize now that I goofed by using cart path for good compaction - not realizing this affected drainage for the polymeric sand. Also the flagstones are anywhere from 1/2" -3/4" thickness. This is also not enough depth it seems, after watching. The PolySand seems to be intended for thicker stones. But now I am using a screwdriver to remove all the mortar sand I used on top of the cart path material between the rocks which I initially used to give the flagstone edges some stability. Boy did I screw up! I wasn't understanding that there is a 1-1/2 inch depth thickness required for the Polymeric sand. So after I carve away a depth of approx 3/4" (max) what is my best product option for grouting? Is cement the best option? Or Gator Dust? Or can I still consider using Gator Maxx (the orange bag)? I do have some wide spaces up to 3 inches. Thanks!
We would recommend using the Gator Dust for your application. The performance of the Gator Dust will depend on the ability for the joints to dry out and the stability of the stone. If the "cart path" material traps too much moisture the Gator Dust will suffer a short lifespan. If you need to, send an email to info@alliancegator.com and let us know your zip code so we can have a rep contact you to discuss the results you are having. Thanks!
Great video! My pool pavers have sunken after a hurricane came through. My question is can I use polymeric sand? I have a pool cage and I can’t find one video of someone putting it in when there is a pool cage.
Thanks for the positive feedback on our video. You can use polymeric sand in just about any paver or natural stone joint. Just make sure you have a drainable base like crushed stone and sand under your pavers. If they are on top of concrete polymeric sand probably won't work too well. Thanks!
This product SUCKS. My landscaper used G2 and there was only a thin layer of set up sand on the top. I had to dig it out and try to reapply. Followed instructions exactly and the G2 sand did not set up at all. Worthless product.
Hello sorry to hear that, if you would like, you can send an email to info@alliancegator.com and let us know your zip code so we can have a rep contact you to discuss the results you are having. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your video. I was just about to put a coat of water based sealer over acrylic sealer. So glad I came across your information. About 10 years ago I put Rock Solid brick and paver sealer on a chimney to save brick that were nearing the end of there life and it looked really good and repelled the rain awesome so I thought 5 years later it would be time for another coat but that coat tuned whitish after awhile. Can’t remember the exact time or years it did that. Well I watched your video about using Zilene to re emulsify the sealer after wire brushing and getting the flaking off and it did just that!!! No more white sealer look. The stuff does have quite the smell. I did wear a mask but was still bad. I was glad only on a few sides the sealer looked white that I had to use it. I plan on now to do a light coat when we finally get a few days without any rain. Wish me luck it stays clear! I’m using the same product. Thanks again.
Can you apply a sealer to stop the water going through?
Yes, film-forming sealers like our Solvent-based gator seal wet look and water base gator hybrid seal will limit water going through joints.
I'd love a rep to come and check out my install. Or atleast maybe give me some tips for the rest of my install. So far 2 of 3 areas are done, and I'm not happy with my results. Maybe I'm just too picky, i dunno. I've got haze & washout, probably thin crust too... I've done plenty of research before using the product, still can't figure it out. And it's a new fresh install of pavers & G2 Black Diamond.
Hello, you can send an email to info@alliancegator.com and let us know your zip code so we can have a rep contact you to discuss the results you are having. Thanks!
I started watching your video and im bored ! Like get to the main stuff already.. 50 minutes?? Seriously?
Thanks for letting us, we have been working on making any future content shorter.
Thank you for being highly educational! Other descriptions and videos that are available on this topic are completely inadequate. No wonder there are so many job failures.
Hey , please help .. i used the wrong sealer on Indian sandstone and it now looks dull . I understand that its permeable and pressure washing wont solve it . What can i do to get those colours back ?
Can I use gator polymeric sand for bluestone laid in a stone dust bedding to fill in the joints?
We don't recommend stone dust. We would recommend concrete sand or chip stone. Check out this portion of the video: th-cam.com/users/clipUgkxbmiCvWktt62O0gO_RE99HA75zEf3SE8_?si=EnS3u0dsq8op-eRp where we discuss bedding materials.
