Special test after a system failure during a storm. Siren worked great. Boone County is a sea of 2001s plus some other federal goodies at the airport.
Tornado Warning Siren Ambiance- Charleston Illinois

A few months ago while driving home from storm chasing, we happened to be driving through the college town of Charleston IL when a Tornado Warning was issued. You can hear the Modulators and EOWS alternating between alert and Voice, as well as 2001s blaring in alert. The 2001s are the municipal siren system and the Electronics serve the college campus.

So milwaukee actually had two aca hurricanes i heard it was replaced by a T-135
I love the hurricane and yes I do think the wined up is way too fast
The instant startup of the ACA hurricane 130 is the reason why I love them so much

All of the other Single Headed Super Sirex’s were scrapped. This was taken out of Service due to controller problems. I’m not sure if it is gonna be put back in service, saved, or scrapped. But I do not want this Siren getting Scrapped. About the Dates it was in service. The Siren was installed in 1954 according to the City making this Unit 70 Years old.

@kellysouders4577 from what I know hurricane blowers are poorly made and so it’s original blower is long gone most likely and if it was hooked up to the hurricane it would not work at all
Surprised more places didn't do this. Seems like Thunderbolt blowers were more reliable than Hurricane ones.

Why were the thunderbolts deactivated?
EMA stated that they were costly to maintain and had no battery backup for power outages.

@@bluegrasssirens1938 The blower is full of grass and is not working anymore, and the solenoid is still broken. Its making a loose connection that is causing it to clank sporadically at times. I don't know how much longer they'll keep this thing. The good solenoid might have also messed up a time or two, but I'm not 100% sure.

I hear so many I can't pick them apart. I can pick out the FS 2001 and FS Thunderbolt
