This movie is a remake of Shop Around the 'Corner 1940 with Jimmy Stewart and Margartet Sulliivan. I think the original is better but they are both great.
Tom Hanks has always and will always be brilliant. Meg Ryan ruined it for herself when she starred in the movie "In the Cut". Then she lost her looks with the hideous face lifts and fillers. I stopped watching Meg Ryan movies a long time ago, but I will always watch Tom Hanks.
Every time I watch the end of this film, it brings me to tears because I think of my loving wife Linda, who is gone now almost 5 years. I don’t know why, but I cry a lot when I see the end of this film signed Jack.
Thank you so much for your reply to me. We were married 53 years and I miss it today’s much as I missed her five years ago thank you again for your kind thoughts and wishes.
No disrespect intended, but while I enjoy this film (especially since I know the neighborhood where this was filmed) if this is the best movie end you have ever seen then you have a great deal to look forward to in film appreciation. The best romantic ending that I have ever seen was in Chaplin's "City Lights" which is actually a silent film and perhaps Chaplin's best romantic effort. Another more recent film is 50 First Dates. There are thousands of films that await you, a lifetime of enjoyment. I wish you good watching.
I loved this movie when it came out. Then I saw Meg Ryan being interviewed on Parkinson/bbc where she came across as a nasty piece which totally changed my opinion of her or you you could say she is good at acting nice
This is like the second or third remake of this movie. And while I definitely enjoy watching this remake I think my favorite movie with this story is with Van Johnson I just looked it up there's four four movies in the good old summertime with Judy Garland,. The shop around the corner with Van Johnson, the shop around the corner with James Stewart, and then there's our beloved You've got Mail.
Pretty sad that she blew off him for some online freak. It worked out, luckily. If I were him, I would've been a little offended. Shows her character. I never would've showed.
This movie, "When Harry met Sally" and Sleepless in Seattle are three of the funnest, not just funny, corniest movies that make me feel good. I've seen all three countless times and once I start watching either I have to finish. Meg is perfect as the "adorable but not over sexed" girl that every guy would love to come home to. Tom is an acting servant comedy or drama and Billy Crystal is one of the best "natural" dramedy actors ever. On a personal note, I wish Meg didn't do the facelift thing I think she was beautiful without it. (Of course what she care about my opinion....)
You mentioned only two, and they were written by the great Nora Ephron. The third is "Heartburn," based on her own book. Actresses get facelifts because if they looked their age, they wouldn't get movie roles. A sad act of American cinema, not true of British cinema.
I so wanted to hate this movie. Tom Hanks was on my worst actors list because of his annoying way of speaking It was years before I actually watched it. My admiration of Meg Ryan & the wonderfully written story won out in the end. It turned out to be a great movie.

Watch LeZZIES on Sa Moon
Pride and Prejudice updated - hate to love. It never gets old.
😭🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
If only
I have seen this movie many times. Once you get past the fact that everyone is cheating on everybody, it is a great movie.
❤
Not me! Idiotic "romance" movie with no inner feeling at all.
Me too!
Forest Gump’s cousin could use some fashion tips.
What a lame Arabic ending, with the kiss cut off??? meh

This was one of the very best!
Meg Ryan is a great actress. They should have used her more. In other movies
Just not a fan anymore.
Bestest love ever!
Such a shame Meg turned into a crazoid
You cut the sweetest thing in the show 😢
Borrreingggg
This is a remake of the better The Shop Around the Corner starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan and directed by Ernst Lubitsch.
yes it is. I have that movie in my collection. Frank Morgan from the Wizard of Oz is in it too. haha
No matter. How many times I see this part i always cry
Nie mam
But if you don't have a great ending, use a great song.
Would love to meet them someday❤❤❤❤
I was disappointed. The original is so much better.
This was a re-re-re-remake of "The Little Shop Around the Corner" a film from the 1940's with Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan.
I love this film, and When Harry met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, but my out and out favourite is The Goodbye Girl.
Except for the last, all written by Nora Ephron, a great writer.
Such a brilliant movie❤evergreen❤

I'm sad for you, Jack. I know you loved her very much, and I understand why you cry.

"De gustibus non disputandum." There's no arguing about tastes.
i dont know why this brings tears to my eyes
i love this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These two grate actors are my most favorites when it comes to love stories.❤❤❤❤

The acting is all that's relevant to us. We go to movies to see the acting, writing and direction.
Watch it again today, you will find that Parky was being a judgemental superior old pick, Meg was perfect .
This has been cut a bit unfortunately ....
If she really had fallen in love with Tom Hanks, why did she go to meet what she thought was another man in the park?
Wait, what happened to the kissing scene at the end?

Great movie, great chemistry of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, best movie ever😊❤❤❤❤❤

🥰
Clearly you haven’t seen real movies
Loved this movie.❤

I love this movie. I wonder if she can ever trust him, after his on-line manipulation. But maybe she's come to love him suspecting it is him.
Don’t cry…rdball00ns..

Nora Ephron, great writer.
I hope he reinstalled her "Shop at the corner" as his wedding gift for her...
An extremely misogynistic film. My respect for the actors plummeted.
It was written by Nora Ephron, not a misogynist.
Try watching the original "The Shop Around The Corner". It's like "You've Got Mail" without the commercial endorsements.
