Dean's hobbies!
I'm just a regular guy, a car nut all of my life and now retired. A few years back I started uploading my track videos to share with friends. I've now got a nice little collection of videos and decided that I should expand my presence a bit. I'm not out to make money on TH-cam, for sure. This is all for fun!.
I've recently started a couple of new hobbies, RC scale modeling (life long modeler) and 3D printing with a Prusa i3 MK3S+ and a Prusa Mini. It's been a wonderful time of learning and meeting new people. I'll try to include some of that content in the future as well.
The channel name change is a result of the new hobbies as well. I'm a bit competitive (in a fun way) on track and try to rule the game, for sure. But I also use a vast array of rulers, calipers and other measuring devices in my hobbies, especially the modeling and 3D printing.
Now, remember, I'm no expert at any of this! This channel is all about what I do for fun. Take care and be well!

2021 BMW M440i WHAT!?! Why would I do this?
Dang! People talk too much, lol. A review should be a review.
Dang! People don’t know how to pick up the remote, hit the back button and find a different review. I can type that, with no typos by the way, because I don’t care…
*Millennials need to learn one thing from this video. USE A FJUKING TRIPOD!* One handed wrench turning with a cell phone shakey ass videos suck!
Looks pretty darn good!
Thank you Tim!

Right on Ian!
Very nice
Hey great job on this video. I'm getting ready to do the same and am curious as to what brackets you used to mount the power distribution block where you did. I see a lot of ppl mounting these to their fuse box lid but I like your method much more.
Thanks for watching! I just dug into my stash of brackets that I have laying around. I've got a bolt bin full of bolts, nuts, washers, plugs, fuses, o-rings... You know, stuff saved over the years. I'm sure you could find some universal "L" shaped brackets from a hardware store. Good luck with your install and feel free to ask other questions.
I did have one other question about the fuse tap. I have seen, in other install videos that they use a different slot than you did (can't remember the number but it's a 15amp fuse) and the cable coming off the fuse tap points away from the engine. You used slot F66, which I want to use as well for the same reason you did but to do so would still have the wire coming off the fuse tap heading away from the engine which would technically be upside down if I understand correctly. Did this cause any problems for you that you noticed or did you find a way around it? There's a really large fuse to the left of fuse f66 that would cause clearance issues for the fuse tap if I inserted it the way I'm reading it's supposed to go. Thanks again!
@@spawn2031 Sure, no problem asking for sure. I am away from my Bronco for a few days (gone for a road trip in my old XJ right now), so I'm working from memory at the moment. First, the fuses or fuse taps are not directional, they can go into the fuse box in either direction. I chose the direction of the wire just based on the easiest routing to the edge of the fuse box. The fuse that I chose to pull and make part of the fuse tap (along with the fuse for the power distribution box) had to meet two requirements for me. 1. Whatever fuse I tapped into could not be part of an essential system circuit (example; tail lights, headlights, A/C, anti-lock brakes, etc.). 2. Had to be a key off\on or auto off\on circuit. The fuse that I chose is part of a courtesy light circuit if I remember right. It turns on when I touch the door handle and turns off 30 seconds after I walk away from the Bronco. I watched a video, actually before I even bought a controller panel, where the person wired it to a circuit that had power all the time and stated that the panel doesn't pull enough power to worry about it. That sounded like a risk to me. Maybe not a big risk, but why chance it when there are risk free circuits available. One other thing to remember is that a high amperage circuit fuse tap isn't required because the wire that runs to the fuse box from the electronic controller box only supplies power to the circuit board in the unit and the low voltage side of the relays. All the electronic controller does is trigger those relays. The power to run the accessory comes from the thick red wire that is attached to the battery terminal, through the high voltage side of the relay and then on to the accessory terminals. I hope this helps! Have a great day!
@The_Sword_Rules Thanks for that very complete reply. I do appreciate it! I think, in your video, you said the fuse you chose was for the sway bar disconnect, which you didn't have anyway and neither do I so it's a perfect slot to tap. Thanks again!
@@spawn2031 Ah perfect! And that would be power on key only, so good deal.
So when you unfold the firearm, you’re actually supposed to pull the lever back first and turn it.
There is nothing to turn. This is from the owner's manual - To open the M&P® FPC™ from its folded state, the user must draw the charging slide slightly to the rear to unlock it from the handguard. The charge handle has a channel machined into it that catches in the hand guard to keep it folded. Pulling back slightly releases the channel from the hand guard allowing the barrel to unfold to the firing position. I hope that helps. Here is a link to the owner's manual: assets.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bltb61dcb3c40854cd9/blt28954a6d0abef68e/64d2a6d744f75aa22953b810/M&P_FPC_Manual_083023_3015694.pdf
@@The_Sword_Rulesread the first paragraph that you sent. He is correct. Slightly pull back on the charging handle before unfolding. Easier on the parts and you.
@@johnlatorre2764 Yes, the handle gets pulled back slightly, but there is nothing to TURN. That is what I corrected him on. Do you have this firearm? If so, go ahead and try it.
Thanks for the video. Did you find any interference with the latch handles for your hard top after installing the DV8 overhead molle console?
Welcome! I hope the video is helpful. It's why I do them. Yes, just a very slight, slight rub on the two latch handles. I pull down slightly on the console just to keep from marring the plastic latch finish. Likely I shouldn't worry about that but I do. I did add that to my review on the DV8 website, along with another reviewer's same feedback. Really not a big deal at all. If it did bother me, I could do a bit of grinding on the top edge of the console to make it rub-free. But then the powder coat finish would be ground off and require paint, blah, blah, blah... In the end I feel like I'll just leave it be. In case your interested in other equipment installs, watch for some future videos where I will mount traction boards, put some molle pouches to use, test the new Midland GMRS radio and add some other accessories to Redford. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
@@The_Sword_Rules Thanks so much for the details. looking forward to your upcoming videos.
i watched the entire video, but i’m still confused how u tightened the new tips on, did you twist the nut or the bolt, how were u able to get the top one?
Thanks for watching. This is the most asked and answered question. I explained how the bolt and jam nut works at the 1:15 mark in this video. I'll pin this question for all. There are four Hex Key Allen head bolts (tighten all four down with even spacing between the tip and exhaust pipe) then tighten down the jam nut while holding the bolt still with the hex key allen wrench. There is plenty of room on top for the hex key allen wrench and an open end wrench, and your hands. There is air space above the exhaust outlets. Dig in and get your hands dirty! What's the worst that could happen? If a guy can't figure it out, it's a 15 minute job for a mechanic. Flip the mechanic a Grant and enjoy.
I liked that it came in 40 S&W also since I already had a ton of 40 ammo.
Ass U Me LOL
Exactly!
How did you tighten the top bolt?
There is plenty of room to put the short end of the hex wrench in and tighten the top nut down with a wrench. A little tight but ok. Mechanic's stuff. Lay on your back. Do your stretches. Crack your knuckles. Jam your tools in there and get dirty. :) Best part of owning fun cars.
Love my Dv8 overhead panel. Made very well and quite useful.
Yeah, they seem to be putting out some good stuff. I had not heard of DV8 until after the purchase of this, our second Bronco. I've got some more video coming of the overhead panel as I wire up my GMRS radio. I've had the radio installed there for a couple weeks now and it's all very sturdy and out of the way. I've got a huge 6D Mag-Lite up there using the DV8 universal tool hangers. They also seems to be very sturdy and holds the flashlight really well. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day!
How long does the battery last on a typical day. That would come in handy in my shop as well. Is the shop vac still serving its purpose or would a cord be better. Thanks
Great question - First of all, with shop vacs, I've always hated the cords as a limiting factor for sure. So in this regard, I still love the battery powered 6 gallon Milwaukee shop vac. I've used all of the attachments that I own (more than shown on this video) and they do their job as listed. Next - battery life. Lets say I'm using an XC6.0 battery and I want to vacuum off my workbench, get in all the nooks and crannies of the garage and vacuum the whole floor of my 750 sq. ft. garage. If I run it on the high speed, I will likely not get the whole job done. Let's say 75% finished (about 15-20 minutes tops), before it runs out juice. If I use the low speed, I can get the whole job done (30 minutes) and have some battery left over, but it might struggle to pick up some larger debris. I will likely pick up an XC8.0 or XC12.0 battery and dedicate it to the vacuum so I can just run the vac on high all the time and finish a whole job like this with no hassle. To be fair, I believe that Milwaukee recommends using the XC8.0 minimum. Milwaukee also advertises a 47 minute runtime using an XC12.0 battery. I hope that helps in your decision! Have a great day!
Fun project truck
Good install I’m planning on buying this same mollie panel for my Bronco and will use this as my guide
Thanks! Glad you found it useful.
I would love to put the big ben like how you have the sasquash riding the bronco,,,easy Hints?
3" lift coil overs from Bilstein (best ride out there), 17" wheels with 35" tires, Ford wide style fender lips, 1.5" wheel adaptor\spacers. Get out yer wallet!! Honestly you might be money ahead to just trade in on one with the Sasquatch package because then you will have locking differentials and recovery points also. The package is a great deal for the amount of extra equipment provided. Have fun searching for your next Bronco! :)
@The_Sword_Rules ok..thanks for the heads up...the sasquatch is out of my budget ,,at the moment but who know ...... Cheers
DV8 Doesn't ship to Canada, Amazon does. On Amazon it says for fitment 2021-23. On the DV8 Website it says up to 2021-24 for what look to be the exact same. Do you think they are the same, will they fit on my 24 if I ordered them from Amazon?
They will fit, the Bronco bodies have not changed since they came back out. Amazon titles are notorious with me for not being updated. I like the DV8 stuff. Good quality and fitment. Have a great day!
@ thanks yeah, they do look sharp, I been eyeballing these for a while because of that god awful unfinished look. Your video helped me click “place order”! Your Bronco looks great!!! 🤙🏽
@@peterbrown2553 Right on brotha! And thanks! I love styling vehicles to be unmistakably mine. Have fun with the install. By the way, every mod that you see me do to this Bronco is completely reversible to factory stock. I can likely move all this equipment to my next Bronco.
Can this be use for 2021 models that have not had it's ecu unlock?
That is exactly what it's for. As I explained it is a piggyback system that overrides the ECU for some settings.
@The_Sword_Rules thank you and appreciate the response. Have you had any challenges or issues with service since installing this?
@@95timt I switch cars often. It's a hobby. I only owned this car for a few months after this. Just me, but I doubt anyone will care that it's on there.

BAM!!!
Does it have the M Logo on it?
Are you familiar at all with BMWs? Like the title says, it's an M440i. That's the model name and that's the nameplate on the car. Why do you ask?
@@The_Sword_Rules I am Sorry for not being clear. I meant does the exhaust tips has the M-Logo on it? I was just carious because I checked the link you provided on AliExpress and one comment shared a photo that has the logo on it. And to your first question, Yes I am very familiar with BMWs since I was 5 years old lol.
@@SherifEldeib-o2d Gotcha - Yes, I was confused and glad you responded. Yes, my exhaust tips had the 3 slashes and M on them as an embossing. They came with a note in the package that politely asked to not post pictures or videos showing the logos likely due to either copyright infringement (I didn't really care if I showed them, their problem), being knock-offs, or actual BMW OEM tips being sold out the "back door". I'm assuming the later because these were such high quality. I went to the dealership, which I work at, and found a car with the OEM BMW tips installed and these were identical in every way. I'm glad that link is still working as this video is over 2 years old now... I thought the world of my M440i and I would not hesitate to buy another BMW in the future. The most interesting thing is that I continually see video reviews of cars stating that their brand new 2024 model "whatever" does this really cool thing like it's a big deal, and I think to myself, hell, my 2021 BMW did that!! Do you have an M440i now? Have a great day!
@@The_Sword_Rules Thank you for responding and I really like your videos. Yes I do have the exact same car :). M440i 2021 and Absolutely love it. Was thinking about upgrading to the newer model but I don't like that they removed the Stick shifter and made it buttons. I am looking to do some mild modifications because I don't want to miss with my extended warranty. I am from Colorado and somehow this car does really good on the snow. Have a wonderful day as well.
Dude is already home having dinner
What size tires does this have?
I sold this one a while back but it had 20" wheels and BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. They were 275/55R20.
Great looking Toaster My favourite old car that l miss 20 years ago was a Nissan 200SX
Nice! Based on the Silvia wasn't it? What size engine?
@The_Sword_Rules that's right it was It had a 2 L engine
It’s amazing the amount of shit us Bronco owners need to buy to “finish” off our brand new vehicles 😂 these things, interior dome lights, storage hooks for the trunk, I may look into vanity lights for the mirrors, so many things that are standard on every other vehicle is missing in action on the 6G Ford Bronco but I still love it.
Good Job. Sounds and look great!
Congratulations on 500 buddy. That’s a big milestone. But I know you don’t care. 😂
Thanks! And spot on!!
I do like the stripes.
Great job on the light bar and the graphics look great 🇬🇧
Thanks Ian!
Been waiting to see someone put this on. Gettin this add on myself. Sick garage. As far as the install goes and the way it turned out. Maybe it’s just the lighting or maybe it doesn’t go on exactly like the photos show but the S or Z cut out were they metal pieces connect looks to be too close together, like you could have spaced them out from each other by 1/4 of an inch. When you look at stock photos the Z shape seems more pronounced. When your install was done the Z looks bit closed or another way to put it the pieces are too close together which maybe what you want but the Z cutout would show the paint underneath more to compliment the DV8 cutout as well if properly spaced. Again maybe it’s just the lighting or how you wanted it. Great look overall though.
Likely just the lighting. I wish TH-cam would make it convenient to post a picture, but I have a gap in the horizontal space of the joined parts of about 1/4" and a little less in the 2 slanted portions of the space. It is personal preference for sure, plus however they may line up with the bolt holes and ends of the pinch weld for any given Bronco. Enjoy your install. Make it yours! :)
The 1966 is the year of the first Bronco
Thanks for this! The directions are terrible and I didn’t feel like those first steel rope fit either and added two washers before I got to the part of your video when you went back and added them too. I laughed
I should’ve watched your whole video first and it would have saved me time

Thank you! - I just added a 40" dual action (amber running lights and bright white) bumper light bar to the controller and it was just too simple. So far I love that equipment and I don't foresee changing how I feel about it. That video, along with the subscribers t-shirt giveaway should get edited and uploaded soon. Did it help with the drone at all?? The stock tips seem to be too far in causing sound to resonate in the back.....
I never noticed drone on mine with the stock exhaust.
@The_Sword_Rules I deleted the muffler and added a resinator on both sides. Sound is great but sometimes I can feel vibration in my back.
good looking ride, I had a very similar z71 sport a few years ago .. regret selling it!
Hey, any update on the car after running the tune for 2 years, i’m really looking into slightly tuning my new m440, but cannot justify the 3k femto unlock! Amazing video btw.
Hello - I sold this car about 6 months after I released this video. I took the tuner back off the car and sold it to a friend for his BMW. It worked just fine until he sold his car and also sold the tuner. In the end, I would say that we were both underwhelmed with the engine output using this tuner, but it was nice having a warranty from CarBahn while using their tuner.
@@The_Sword_Rules Oh wow, what car did you end up trading it for?
I ended up with a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. The 6.2L with that supercharger was an absolute blast! Not as refined as the M440i but raw power to spare. The Caddy is now sold also and we’re looking for a ‘55 Nomad resto-mod.
Thanks for the tutorial i will do it too it looks great!
That is one really nice-looking truck. Well taken care of. Also makes me wish GM had 2-dr. SUVs again, since Ford has the Bronco, and Jeep has the Wrangler.
Any issues with the inlet after multiple drives? I want to do this on my F30, I already have the Dinan intake. I’m just wondering if the inlet will cause a boost leak or melt after a couple hundred miles. I know this is an old vid but would appreciate the feedback. Thanks
No of course not. You have nothing to worry about. Please understand it's Dinan. Steve Dinan, who's company was purchased by DPB, who also owns Holley.. Then he started up again with CarBahn. He is an engineer that has been designing high quality performance parts for BMW, Audi and Mercedes since 1979, not a cheap eBay or Amazon part from China.
@@The_Sword_Rules well that’s good to hear! Thanks for the response. I’m gonna give it a go 😁
