A liverbird is actually proniunced Lyverbird. Liverbirds are two statues on top of the Royal Liver Building.. the local Legend goes, if the Liverbirds were ever to up and fly away then Liverpool would perish.. theyve remained there never to have left and keep A vigilant watch across the city from up above. A “bird” is also Liverpool slang for a girl..pretty clever
