I appreciate the attempt as some of the other videos have been really useful, but unfortunately this one missed the mark :/ I find that if I use the filter visualization with count/distinct grouped by stage, it bases the "retained" % of each stage on the number *currently in the first stage* rather than the total count across all stages, which makes the funnel useless. Was hoping to find out what I might be doing wrong here, but since the demo just artificially specified a count for each stage, it didn't actually teach us anything :/

The best approach is to use a "transparent" shape. Once marks are set to Shapes instead of automatic, and you use the transparent shape, the column is totally gone
