Apple is shit. I got one used mac and couldnt even install remote desktop client.

Is this Windows Vista in the background? This is the death of low latency audio stuff. Buy a Mac Mini M4 and install Studio One. That will be enough for years. Pro Tools was the studio standard for a long time but that time is over. I switched from PC to Mac not long ago and OSX my DAWs work just fine.

There are many options for people to decide what their priorities are. I use both, building my own gaming desktops, and I have owned MacBook Pros, gaming laptops, iPads, Apple Watches, etc. My experience is that there is no perfect machine; you have to find what works for you. It costs too much for some people, but not all. What I can tell you is that Apple provides the best customer service, at least in the US. I have had to deal with repairing PCs and Macs, and Apple's store is always excellent. Fixing something at Best Buy or dealing with a manufacturer like Asus or Dell is a bit more of a headache. Also here in the US I'd say Apple holds a greater market share, a large portion of my friends and family are using Facetime, that social aspect also influences what tech people buy.

You got a new Motherborad, Ram, CPU, Graphicscard? Sorry but you did not Upgrade, you bought a new PC. Oh you kept the harddrives, case and PSU. I still would not call it a legit upgrade. At your userlevel I bet you got a backup or NAS. I got a NAS and hell I do very little serious work on my PCs and Macs. So Harddrive space is not an issue with a NAS. Yes the products are expensive. That is a valid point. The new Mac Mini M4 is the best computer you can buy for the price but Apple cheaped out on 256GB SSD. Its a major flaw. And the prices for upgrades at Apple are insane. Going to 512GB costing 200$ is ridiculous. Same with other upgrades at purchase. Saying Macbooks can't be upgraded is true but have you tried to upgrade another modern Laptop? You can change the SSD and maybe on some expensive models the RAM but those will cost the same as Apple. Talking DDR5 here. The M1 MB Air was killer for the price. Still one of the best Laptops to recommend on the used market. Like with every brand, there is good things with apple and bad things. Good products and bad. I think you would be happy using a mac only to cost are too high. That is a valid point

Unforntunatly I think a big part of the probelm is young people aren't coming up in the same age as us. They seem more like the elderly now. There dont' want to figure out how things work because they just expect it to. Not willing to explore and make it work because they've now grown up with computers "just working" but I can't stand apple's ethos. buy buy buy, non intergable parts etc.

If you know anything about computers you'll be running Linux. So your thoughts are irrelevant.

Tesla comparison is quite flawed, every Tesla to this day still gets updates. Apple intentionally slows down the OS on older phones forcing you to update.

Well I have 2 daughters, one had the freedom to choose a Mac, the other one was forced to buy a dell running Linux … The Mac has been running 4 years now and surely will make it trough university running a total of close to 10 years, as is my experience with all my other Mac’s. My other daughter was forced to use dell and after 3 years it has already been 3 times in repair with 2 software issues, Linux is not ready for the desktop or you need to be a nerd, 3rd time new keyboard and motherboard … so while the dell was 1/2 the price its now already more expensive and has caused a lot of downtime, as has 1/2 of the class who has been running that dell, they all have had hardware issues. So yes Mac’s are more expensive and not expandable but you buy what you need and then never look back and enjoy the product I designed my own PCI cards for PC when I was young ,,, so I was the ultimate DIY guy, but really I can’t be bothered anymore. I bought my M1 Max 64GB almost 4 years ago before the AI Hype and I can now run LLM’s of 40GB which no consumer PC can do today at a descent speed, could I built a faster PC, yes, but it would be more expensive consumes a 1000watt (2 GPU’s) and would not be portable … I paid the system 5000 euro’s almost 4 years ago … can still sell it for over 2000, but I’m sure I will enjoy it another 4 or 5 years before trading up. Working with video the M1 Max with dedicated accelerators is faster then most current PC laptops in the market … with a power consumptions below 50 watts … I do understand why PC people love PC, but I enjoy everyday the seemless integration between iPad / iPhone / Mac, getting a cellular call and use answering it on my iPad is magic, taking copyin something of my iPhone and pasting it on my mac etc … While upfront the cost is higher I see after 5 years that our friends have bought like 2 phones for their children, while mine are still using the iPhone 11 and are perfectly happy, so total cost and environment impact is way lower. But in the end it’s a personal choice and as I always say you do you.

I downloaded your video with VTT captions then remade the mp4 with edited captions that replace "Apple" with "Electric Car", "Motherboard "with "V8", "RAM" with "Turbo", "Power Supply" with "Carburator", "MicroSoft" with "Fossil Fuel". It is just as stupid but a funnier rant.

As a non creator I've been happy with Linux on my private PC for the last 14-15 years. The last Microsoft I tried was Windows 7, but it didn't bring me anything extra and the versions that came after it are cluttered with a lot of totally unnecessary features for me that are just a security risk. As for the phone, I've been on the Xperia team for the last 8 years after HTC gave up on it back then. We still have the headphone jack, microSD card combined with e-sim in the Experia team, but unfortunately year by year we are a smaller group and the risk of Sony giving up is getting higher.

I think if you already have a mini 3 save your money, but if you're buying you're first drone like me get the mini 4 pro and enjoy your bells and whistles

Dji 5's red balance, principally underwater is so much worse than gopro 13. The quality of color in all of situations too. The GP has a IA better for outdoor takes/situations while the Dji has a software more pratical, and it's helps the workflow. But the quality of gopro is really better. The better choice in this case is to buy the cheaper... certainly.

Have you considered trying the insta360 ace & ace pro action cameras? maybe even the insta360 go cameras. I hear quite positive things about those compared to GoPro & DJIs offerings.

Still very happy with my Moonstone grey ID.3 1st Edition which we have named Heidi. I bought her when she was 27 months old with 11,800 miles in March 2023. We have done a 1,300 mile roadtrip with her but mostly we do relatively short local trips with the occasional 100 plus mile journey. Once we got the software upgranded from 2.3 to 3.2 she has been faultless. We are averaging 4.1 miles/kWh over 18 months of ownership with winter being less efficient than summer, as expected. I see no reason to let her go any time soon.

Its a great camera. But why does the battery overheat after only 20 minutes. I had to freeze mine before a bike ride. Before going out to get 30 mins of footage.

for low light, i suggest 24 or 25 frames, with iso 100 - 800 and don't turn on boost for stabilizing. Also lower your Resolution to 1440p or 1080p helps in low light settings vs 2k n up. put your shutter to 48-50 depending. whatever ur frames is double that for ur shutter

One question when you are emailing, does German/English cover your needs and/or do you know other languages so you can ask for vehicles in the mfg's "native language" since there are mainly languages in Europe?

If I may offer a suggestion: even when you have time (both with the car and for editing) for ten excruciatingly detailed video, also make one or two "overviews" with links to detailed ones (you can add them later, in the video description or in a pinned comment). We don't always have time to watch every of your videos, although we certainly try... As for the days without cars, I like your comparisons of the range efficiency and other easily measurable metrics. You also do nice wto car head-to-hear comparisons. Perhaps you could fill those "dry" weeks with a kind of "shopper's guide" in different categories. Anyway, thank you for good work and good luck in your full time youtuber endeavour. (BTW, what does your petite Canadian think about your bold decision? I _love_ the frankness with which she expresses her opinions.)

Hey. Now that you're a full-time TH-camr, you could also think about the "weekend drive test", the range of the vehicle driving on local roads while observing the speed limits, of course it's just a friendly suggestion, it's up to you to decide if you have the time and will... Best regards.
