Ivar and friends. Happy New Year for 2025 from Naas, Ireland. Here's to a better world ahead.
God Jul Ivar og takk for jobben du gjør ❤
Have a great Christmas with your family. Thank you for keeping us all in touch with Santiago.
Same to you!
Happy Christmas
Same to you!
This just goes to show that as an average supplicant, I spend my life looking at the floor and not looking up. I need to return. Thank you for reminding me Ivar.
That is the Hatikva🇮🇱
Merry Christmas, Ivar and thank you for all your great work. As a two-time pilgrim I greatly appreciate you🎄🙏💖🙏🎄

I really like the Village to Village guides - Yay!
Thank you . Happy Christmas
Thank you, same to you!
Thank you very much for all you do, Ivar. It is very much appreciated. QUESTION: Do you have any Via de la Plata guides??? I am sending best wishes for you and your family for Christmas and New Year🙏🎄💖
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Will there be a new guide for the Ingles?
Yes, this one should be out in January: www.santiagodecompostela.me/products/camino-ingles-ferrol-to-santiago-on-spain-s-english-way-village-to-village-map-guide
Thanks for the update. I like the Village to Village guides as well as having the Apps. Paper maps are still the best👍 The shipping price to the UK is also much better!
Oh my! I would like to buy the, A Pilgrim Lives Here plaque. Hope I will get to Camino again in 25!
I have 4 left I think: www.santiagodecompostela.me/products/a-pilgrim-lives-here-tile Should get more in some time in January
Is there a Brierley book for the Via de La Plata?
No, he does not have a book for that route
@@Ivarthanks Ivar.
Thanks Ivar...will there be a book available for the Le Puy-en-Velay route?
There is this one: www.santiagodecompostela.me/products/via-podiensis-le-puy-to-the-pyrenees-on-the-gr65 ...but it is the 2022 edition (nothing newer as far as I know)
Look for Cicerone's guide by Dave Whitson on the Via Podiensis-I used and read it every day on the GR65 and its available in e-book format.

Thanks for your support for the past 20 years! Bravo Ivar. We sure appreciate you.

Hi I’m doing the Camino in late February 2025 is there a transportation from San Sebastián airport to St Jean Pied de Port beside taxi?
I would ask on the forum: www.caminodesantiago.me/community/
@ thanks
Not everybody bothers to get the certificate, Ivar. The number of walkers is probably higher than the number of compostelanas.
@@N_Loco_Parenthesis I agree.. a lot higher.
Maybe we will. As for Malaysians, we jokingly said our sales target is 500 this year, we hit that last Thu, so we are happy for this year. Hope 2025 will be another fantastic year for you.
So grateful to you, Ivar, for being our link to Santiago and the Camino when we cannot be there!
Thanks Ivar…..just in Vigo at the moment having walked from Porto for the third time in two years. Have seen just about 6 pilgrims since setting out from Porto and zero since crossing the border. Weather terrific…..will be in Santiago on Monday…..can’t wait !
Excellent Ivar, I particularly liked your walk about.
@@petermartin5581 thank you!
I am thinking of doing the Primitivo next year. Is everything open in October along that route?
I would guess, most but maybe not everything.. keep up to date here in this section of the forum: www.caminodesantiago.me/community/forums/camino-primitivo-oviedo-melide.34/
Thanks for the walkby of Santiago. I needed that after the events of the past few days. There is always something in listening to the piper welcoming everybody. Yes, Santiago is touristy but it also is eternal. Looking forward to my next Camino on the Norte. It beat me this year, but I'll be back to take it on next spring :)
How waterproof is it please ? It says water resistant however will it keep you dry when it is raining heavily ?
Altus say that it is: "Water repellency: W/P 2,000 mm DWR". You should google to see how much that can take of rain (I am not an expert). It is not as waterproof as plastic, but it is more breathable. I guess there is a balance that they need to find.
That’s Awesome news! I just ordered the Camino Pendant I didn’t get when I finished my first Camino Oct 22nd! Hopefully next time I will be able to come into your Shop, and say Hello! 😊

Great news, Ivar and thank you for continuing to provide the best service relating to all things Camino related🙏🤩🙏
Hi Ivar I would like to walk the Frances, but man 430,000 people. It would have to be hard to find accommodations at times
For the camino frances for example, 80-90% of these 430.000 are only walking the last 5 days (last 100km). The first 25 days are not that bad. ...and winter is very slow, so it is still doable to walk a camino
Thanks Ivar !!
Ivar you were my go to in Santiago, and did many visits, a Blessing of Note
Thank you!
Here in Canada, through our Canadian Company of Pilgrims and its various provincial chapters, we have the opportunity to train as full-fledged accredited 'Hospitaleros' and eventually get an assignment post in Spain or Portugal. I am a trained and accredited 'hospitalero' ... but have not taken an assignment yet. PS: I need to add that our focus is volunteering at the 'donativos'
Interested in becoming a volunteer how do I train
Through your national pilgrims association. Like the Confraternity in London or the American Pilgrims in the US.

Greetings from New Jersey and thank you for your immense Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage dedication. We will be embarking on our third Pilgrimage coming this 2025 April, on La Via De La Plata route from Seville and was wondering if possibly you could assist us with information concerning the type of weather conditions around this time of the year in the Andalusia and Extremadura region. @@ka4rur Buen Camino
Thanks for the video. A walk through the square always brings me back to a great peace of mind.
I've walk 4 Camino Frances with this Poncho... 1) Throw it on like it was a Cape, then insert your arms. 2) The crinkling plastic in your ears will drive you nuts! Buy a Gore-TEX hat with wide brim (like a cowboy-hat). Roll up the hood like a fat collar. Your glasses will stay drier. 3) When it's on-off rain... Remove arms, let it hang on Backpack, tie poncho arm around your chest, or tuck one arm under each Backpack strap. When the rain starts again... in 10 seconds you can untie poncho arms, insert your arms and zip up.
Great tips! Thank you!
They're the bee's knees!
We bought L/ExL online from Sarria, back in 2013 for our first camino in. Husband 6ft, me 5ft 2. Mine went down, almost to my feet, but I loved it. We took them on next 4 part-caminos, using for rain, wind or extra bed cover. What a good service, Ivar!
Great... people seem to like them.
