We finally got the two E1’s cleaned and featured together.
We have built the Clubsport into a true drivers car that we think is ….. better 😬 than the GTS.

Being a daily driven car we wanted to make sure all the little issues were repaired to an acceptable daily driven example. This video goes through the interior restoration/ rejuvenation and how to remove the door trims for repair.

We thought the VE R8 we had purchased was spot on, turns out a closed door respray and some subtle upgrades were required to freshen up this deserving car.

After 10 years, the front end is finally straight and we are onto the next phase.
What have we done… The VL is gone. The ending is worth waiting for.

From what was meant to be a minor repair and resto, turned into saying goodbye to one of our beloved cars. The VL is making way for the full restoration on the GTR, and, another muscle car….
Did this actually happen - genuine HDT spoiler destroyed by crash repairer on this tribute Group A..

The VL Group A went in for some window surround repairs and ended up leaving with a broken spoiler, all good, we had to fit the bill for the repair.

Trying to protect the new paint on the GTS as best as we can, we embarked on our own ceramic coating journey to bring back the shine and to protect the car from the harsh Australian conditions.

After giving the mighty 304 one last run, the engine and transmission were finally removed to enable the engine bay to be restored. A couple of little horrors were located and a tenant was located in the plenum.

@@neilgrayson1723 very good question. Our New Year resolution is the VR rebuild. We are sitting down with the engine builder to finalise specs in the next 4 weeks. It’s off to the crash repairer to have the engine bay and floor repaired so we can fit the running gear. We located a crack in the rear cradle indicating some past burnouts and mistreatment so that is getting repaired as well. You’ll be happy with the feature videos this year!
@@neilgrayson1723 we are also testing the waters to buy a Wayne Gardner Group A…. That is a little while off.
@@heritagerecreations awesome stuff can't wait to see. Cracks are fairly common in rear subframes I have had a few crack. Replacements should still be around thou
2 great cars. They are both nice looking cars. Clubby sounds great and strong. I have an LS1 VU SS Ute 2001 and have had it since Feb 2002. Just coming up to 300K and still going strong. So unless you have to sell, try and keep one for at least another 10 years and it will be worth a lot more. Loved that road as well, looks like nice fun for a spirited drive, but not a stupid drive.

I may be a ford man at heart. But I can appreciate a nice Holden when I see one. (And hear one.)
Although a majority of our cars are GM products, we do like the Fords and I am hearing a whisper that we have been keeping our eyes on the BA GT market, potentially a BF as well. We’d love an XY but the reality is we’d have to sell the Torana and that will most likely never happen.
As long as you get post 2008 so you get the ls3 either will be good.
One engine we’ve never owned, but we did drive an LSA 6.2 and that was eye opening.

Not sure if I missed it, what’s the exhaust on the clubby?
We aren’t entirely sure as the previous owner never let us know, we think it is an X-force with muffler delete but can’t be 100% sure.

Great Vid ./ Yes Love the E1 BETTER BUT i'm in UK Have Had a Vauxhall VXR Coupe NOW have a HSV VXR8 same as your E1 Whats this New Law in Auss/ Coming Now or Soon ?
@@peterlee6745 yes it’s here now, U class licence for high powered vehicles. It is measures on power to weight but realistically doesn’t effect the HSV’s. It’s more geared toward hypercars like Lambo and Ferrari.

How was the reaction at the car show? Hopefully got the attention it deserved! Stunning car as I’ve mentioned can’t believe how good it looks
The weather was a little on and off but the car presented really well, it was let down by the door trims and a few other smaller things but after only owning the car for 5 weeks, we are pretty happy with the progress.

I purchased a 2012 VE HDT Group 3 s2 about 6 years ago i looked at an e3 hsv but hsv are dim a dozen I wanted something different, I have not driven my car without someone coming up to me raving about it about 3 times I been asked if they can take pictures of it as they have never seen 1 in the flesh, what did surprise me is how much people knew about the car and the cult like following Peter Brock still has today, 1 guy came up to me in a servo while putting fuel in he said he didn't know anything about cars but that looks awesome, the car its self has lsx fully forged engine and is currently getting a huge 98mm Turbo fitted to it more is built to take 2000hp everything in the engine is the ducks guts

We matched it to pictures from Bathurst ‘87. Except for missing a roll cage and a few minor things, it’s a pretty good match. The car has stayed in SA.

Lower k’s are always good for resale but the reality is the LS engines are fairly durable. They commonly suffer from lifter noise and rear main seal leaks, other than that, as long as they are serviced correctly, there is no reason why you wouldn’t get long life out of the engines.

I would die for an E1 GTS. My favourite generation of GTS of all time. I never liked the styling of the E2 or E3 at all. This is where it’s at.

@@heritagerecreations i owned the car 2011 until bout 2013 that was the year they tried to steal it and can point you in direction of person who had after me long interesting story but was stored for bout 2 years befor i bought it

@@heritagerecreations when i bought car had custom plates (hsv 461) then i changed to (S117AJT) but i have several photos of car showing both right and left side front and rear of car pics of all compliance plates car was very clean and straight when i had but was always weird as far as starting and still had original exhaust and hsv rims and had towbar also have photos of damage done when attempt to steal it they tried to burn the car but must got interupted as there was rag shoved in fuel filler ready to set light to car
