Why have 2 of them crashed?

Hey Buffalo , we know how many 3's with R motors to equal one with a jet . So figure this As these old work horses age and parts can't be found and you got 30 that can't move and that is lost revenue , back to the jet that is still moving cargo . Times change , the radial is almost for air shows .

Dad was a mechanic for the whole duration of WWII, Panama to start, then Norton air base until they were let go in September 45, as a ride on flight mechanic (we would call them now) but in the Army Air Corp they called them FEs, flight engineers … Got on with Eastern Air Lines in October of 45 rebuilding the WWII DC-3s into passenger birds, he worked there 33 years.😎👍✅

QUESTION, How many feet longer is the total fuselage now, looks at Least five (5) feet 👣 Rob’s first Actual paying flying job was an FO at a company with Five DC-3s with 472 total hours, flying Freight. Good way to get some good experience.!! ✅ While he was there they had to strip down and paint all but one plane that Had the scheme on it they were to Copy… 😎👍👏

Why isn't there any turbo of dc-4, -6, -7 models? It would be so great to see them flying again as turboprop airliners.
