That water was freezing cold, ha ha! Most of the Gorge we visited were the same - hot sunny days and freezing cold water! Hmmm, I hadn't thought about a book but it's actually a great idea - it would be a fantastic momento of this amazing country! Thanks again 👍

We knew about Palm valley but we only had so much time in the area and tried to cover as much as we could - next time around for sure as so many people have spoken so highly about it. All the best 👍

I had actually planned it that way. As the chasm is quite long and narrow, I was trying to maximise the amount of light in there to bring out the colours. Not having been before, I was thinking that it would be a little more photogenic in the sunlight than in shadows. Oh well...... 😉

Hi Ian - welcome and thanks for the comment. I'm actually using grads less and less now, particularly when I'm travelling. I find them most useful if you have a very flat horizon such as a seascape etc - just to bring a little balance to the shot so you don't blow out highlights in the sky but to be honest, you can almost get the same results by bracketing and bringing the shots together in post.
