In September 1942, the 1st Marine Division, led by Edson, was preparing to attack Henderson Field, a crucial airfield that had been built by the Japanese. I watched this with the sound off; the captions were absolutely awful - a disgrace, really. The story was compelling, but it was ill-served by the appalling crawling text.

The Mk 14 was a submarine torpedo. It had problems until mid-1943, after which it was at least as good as any other submarine torpedo in the world. The Japanese Type 93, on the other hand, was a destroyer torpedo. Like all destroyer torpedoes it was far larger than anything that could fit in a submarine. And the Type 93 dwarfed even the destroyer torpedoes of all other navies. Not really a good comparison.

Totally left out the CVE's accomplishment in the Atlantic theater of operations. A task force (22.3) including the escort carrier USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) commanded by Capt. V. Daniel Galley, USN, captured the U-505. This resulted in the capture of a complete Enigma cypher machine and the navel cypher codes. This allowed the allies free access to German naval movements. Often, the decoded messages were being read by Allied commanders before the German forces to which they were addressed ever saw them. This was also the first time the U.S. Navy had captured an enemy vessel since the War of 1812. All in all, the CVEs turned out to be a large factor in the eventual surrender of the Axis powers. It's hard to envision the war's path had they not been constructed.

The Japanese built several of these subs. They were to attack the Panama Canal and discharging disease and viruses on the USA. They were ordered back to protect Japan!
The USS Seawolf didn’t rescue all of the American pilots in the Pacific in WW2. As a matter of fact most of the American pilots never required rescuing. They completed their missions without incident. Of those that did need to be rescued, the vast majority were not rescued by the USS Seawolf. The USS Seawolf would have had to be one hell of a submarine to pull that off and would have had to be everywhere in the Pacific at once.
Tank featured is brit tank in the narative
The mark 14 torpedo was a faulty design and the performance was abysmal until (against orders) the captains forced testing. They ran too deep, the magnetic influence detonator caused premature explosions if they worked at all (causing captains to disable the "feature" against explicit orders). This revealed that the contact exploder mechanism was faulty, especially if a direct 90 degree hit occurred (as every captain attempted). They literally dropped the torpedoes from cranes at Pearl Harbor to discover this. I suggest instead of watching this ridiculous attempt of a video, you watch Drachinifel, or read the book "Ship Killers".
The Jap Zero was an incredible fighter plane with light weight and climb ability to dog fight anything .... especially the American F4F Wildcat ... 1200 HP Grummond Radial engine was under powered .... it was easy prey ... THEN THE HELLCAT F6F Fighter was introduced into the Pacific Theater ..... it had an upgrade 2000 HP Pratt-Witney Radial Engine and 6 Holy Moses Missiles (3 under each wing) and a single bomb clasp on the belly, more cannons and greater protection for the pilot - it was a game changer and the death of the Zero - a War best 19 to 1 kill ratio !

This is a demonstration that this instance of "AI" is a fraud on the public. The plane pictured is a North American Aviation B-25 medium bomber. The P-400 is of course the export version of the single engine, single pilot fighter known as the Bell Airacobra in US service. The voice is automated, clumsy, out of human pace and pronunciation. Not worth a human's time.

That is a very strange looking P400 Cobra.
Misleading title. The Mk 14 was plagued with problems until late in 1943 when firing pistol, deep running, control issues and the magnetic proximity fuse were finally fixed. Well after Guadalcanal had been fought and won by the allies.

I can't watch this the animated voice is very distracting and can't pronounce Gaudalcanal and even spells it in a strange weird way. And so many people think that AI is great, nope its no better then the brain that programs it.
What happen to the story of 1900 planes destroyed. I will not watch this cannel again get your thumbnails correct. This story is very disappointing.
