I'm still not entirely convinced that you aren't throwing away gemstones when you scoop off the top layer of gravel on the agitator before turning it off... Have you ever put a trap in and tested the spoil that you are scooping out of the agitator to see if any percentage of gems are going through uncaptured? Because if you are losing any.... They'll probably be all the big ones as they bounce around on top of all the ironstones and large rubbish. It'd take nothing to put a closeable screen box down the bottom of the sluice and close it before you start ploughing handfuls of gravel out of the agitator, just to check the contents of that gravel later. After all, you only need to catch one or two 100+ carat stones a month to make it worth while... ;) Otherwise you'll never know. It all looks a bit like the fishing industry. How do you make a small fortune outta fishing?.... By spending a large fortune. ;)

Only seeing your videos come through now as I have been watching gem stone videos , If your still mining them keep a check on the market for their value , I think in recent times they sky rocketed in price so it might be a good idea to sit on some decent gems till the price is right , just my 2 cents worth hold some back for the good times , awesome videos mate , hope all is well.

I had one more ? about your white dish that you put the sapphires in that you weigh out after you've sorted and picked out the best ones was curious what they use the sapphires for that really have no gem value, and if they pay well? Tried looking at your past videos and you have so many in there, that I don't have the time to go through them all. I'm a new subscriber so please forgive my ignorance, this is all new to me. I love your channel, I try to watch two full videos of yours a day. :)

Tim, I got into trouble at my 1st job in an autobody shop. I sharpened some chisels on both sides. I got in trouble for ruining the chisels. I sharpened both sides of the cutting edge, but found out that you are only supposed to sharpen one side of edge, to keep the temper. By sharpening all sides, you remove the temper, and soften the metal, which makes the chisel dull very fast.

Since you have the second hole for the new up & over and hit old tunnels, i wonder if miners log their digs in a log file and map this out? If not, there's a possibility for buying an exhausted claim. Tim, do you log your digs/fill ups and work it out on a (3d)map? Have you ever considered a GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) map/report for your claim(s)? It penetrates up to 100ft/30mtr. It will show all granite rifs and the depths. I know mining is not an exact science. But with avaliable data it can help you and possibly reduces the dry periods. As always GOOD LUCK mate!
