Ich bin 1981 mit dem M113 durch die Lahn gefahren. Wie ein Mississippi Dampfer. Wir mussten in der engen Fahreröffnung Schwimmweste tragen. Der Hauptfeldwebel saß oben und hätte leicht anspringen können. Beim Reforger Manöver im September 81 habe ich in einer Ortschaft mal die Lenkbremshebel verrissen und bin ins Schleudern gekommen. Zum Glück ist nichts passiert. Es hat tagelang geregnet und der Gestank im M113 war nachts unerträglich so dass ich unter dem Panzer schlief. Im Februar 81 waren wir in Munster, Lüneburger Heide und die sch... Heizung war schon wieder kaputt. Bei einem Feindkontakt mit einem US Panzer bin ich mit Vollgas rückwärts in den Wald gebrettert und gegen einen Baum gefahren. Der Baum ist dann auf den M113 gefallen. Mein Gott, das ist schon so lange her und mir kommt es vor als wäre es gestern gewesen. Grüße an alle M113 Fahrer.

Looks and sounds great. I was in Oksbol in mid 80s as part of A Sqn 4th Royal Tank Regiment on a joint exercise with Danish Dragoons. Love Denmark, although being in a Chieftain Tank in the sand dunes in the middle of what was one of the biggest thunder and lightning storms I have seen was fun...not 😂

Lange als Kommandant auf dem Leopard 1A1(noch mit Scheinwerfer bis zum A5 gedient!Unter anderem auch in Good old Shilo! Ja der Sound hat damals auch die Amis begeistert!

How is Piranha 5 compare to CV90 in snow and sand?

Some tanks (like this Leopard 1A5DK) have driver's position on the side. Some tanks have driver's position in the middle (M1 Abrams, Challenger 1 & 2 etc). What are the advantages and disadvantages of side vs middle driver's positions?

I was a tank man in BAOR, are camp was at Fallingbostel, I could hear that lovely engine of the Leopard thumpking from miles away, are engines in early Chieftain were dreadull.

Yeah, best engine sound of every tank in the world!!!! During my time in the Bundeswehr in 1989/90 I was stationed in a barracks with a tank brigade. Marder, M109 Paladin and Leopard tanks. I heard that sound very, very often during that time.
