Not related to this but when you go out from Colombo from Wattala towards Chilaw, at night no streetlights aswell, some areas it's pitch black, opposing vehicles come with headlights and we barely see the road even. Is the government saving energy by that way? What abouth the accidents happen because of lack of visibility? I'm asking here because I cannot find a reason...

Yess and yes!!!! What a valuable topic you guys have been sharing. Unfortunately the most of the srilankans thinks that wedding is a status! It is something they have to achieve if not , it make them a failure.. i am someone who don’t believe in huge wedding instead of I rather invest those money on a land or something. I will at least put those money in to a saving.

What you guys are telling, I agree💯. Huge weddings are a scam unless you want to show off. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, that’s not the case it’s just common sense at this point. I never grew up dreaming about a wedding. Now that it’s actually my turn to plan one, I’m realizing just how much I still don’t like weddings! Sri Lankan weddings are a huge business-everything from the hotels to the cake seems to see couples as walking bags of cash. Honestly, the whole industry feels ridiculous to me. So, we decided to keep it simple. We got legally married with just our parents there, and then me and my husband went out to celebrate. It was one of the best days ever, and I have zero regrets.

People have weddings beyond their limits. Specially sri lankans want to showoff the world.its useless. At the end with in a few months the marriage doesn't work.basically it could be a divorce or each other to find there own way by not continuing marriage life. I mean having grand weddings doesn't make any sence.end of the day when you both fail it becomes laughing stock. Thinking wisely is more practical rather than taking hasty decisions.

Yes. I agree that you can prevent some incidents through more rules & regulations but long term plan should be changing the mindset of the population. Teaching your sons how to respect a girl /women would be a good start. Also we should stop victim blaming & encourage more girls & women to speak out. More voices will keep perverts at bay.

Street light system should be solar power based and light Swiches should be light sensor. In present we have to swich off street lights manually. Most of lights not off.lot of energy waste.
