“Happy B-Day!” (Bidet)😂🤣😂 May I suggest some Lysol disinfectant wipes, WetOnes, hand sanitizer , maybe a set of rubber gloves . 👍 Great start for what you have so far! Was also going to suggest “Dude Wipes” but someone already suggested them. 👍
Great idea!! Thanks for your constructive feedback!
Just found your channel and subbed .. Well made and thought out video.. I used to carry many of those things then I sat down and asked myself honestly how much of it I ever used.. when the answer was mostly never I changed my edc gear.. now I only carry what I can actually use. if it doesn't make my everyday life better it doesn't belong in my every day kit. I will be watching.. see you soon
Thanks for the sub!
Great edc kit. Great explanation for each item. New sub
Awesome, thank you!
Most good leathermans have locking knives so just complicate life for a Brit.
They most certainly do :(
good vid mate , nice to see a you tuber from this side of the pond , and doing a decent job too , cograts with the new sprog , keep up the good work , laters tatters ,p
Thanks so much mate
been thinking of picking a couple of them, seems they work well, for now i have a """tactical pen""" if you want to call them that, with a tungsten carbide tip on one end, it works, two tools in one
They are ok but these are so easy to use. No motion of the arm required!
@@iansedc yes, easier to operate in a confined space, good thing to have, thanks for the video
Good video, is the little fixed blade not illegal in the uk? Silly law and i think the police would have to be harsh to prosecute on it...
I’m not sure. Maybe to some cops it would be illegal. I guess it’s low on the assault weapon list but carry at your own risk.
@iansedc exactly, I mean... in the spirit of the law, it shouldn't be illegal as its about the intention. If you have a valid and legal reason then it's legal, theres plenty of legal reasons to have one. Its like a saw isn't it? Technically, its a bladed article, but no one is getting stopped for walking down the street with one.... Nice bit of grey area for the grey matter lol... I think as long as one doesn't try walk in to a court or somewhere else where any bladed article is illegal or where persons are subject to search to be safe.
Nail Clip 580 is excellent for backpacking. Taking care of your feet is a must and it is good to have so that you can keep your toenails trimmed and clean as well as cut moleskin for blisters with the scissors or tape. (or open packages for meals/mountain house, etc). It's my go-to for backpacking. For EDC, I have a rambler on my keychain and that does most of what I need it. I have a mora and pliers/toolset in my car, so don't need to carry something huge.
Great tip!
I maybe buy a lifestraw
Do it!
More videos pls
Yes I need to get on it!
Hi, i am from south Spain, near Gibraltar... Well ,i do not speak english, ti be contiues un spanish... Excuseme...
Thanks for your comment!
SAK Explorer + Leatherman Sidekick. That is probably too much for most people, but I am almost never without the tool I need at any moment.
Thanks!
Excellent choices!
Thanks!
I have a leatherman super tool on garden pants. It is much heavier, but pliers is so handy, even for poking into knots and pinching to pull knots apart. My sakvics are on my belt in pouch for shopping and leisure roundabiut britches. My jacket pocket has a Spartan that I now use for lunch.
Sounds great
On me, I carry a pocket flashlight, pocket knife, multitool, battery bank with attached chords, slim wallet, phone, keychain w/ keys, a mini-edc pouch that holds my (eye drops, lotion, & lip balm), mints, earbuds and sunglasses. I carry a deck of cards too. My kids and I play card games anytime we're waiting like at a restaurant. I also carry a personal umbrella. In my sling bag, I carry a retractable pen, Sharpie, nail groom kit, a bandana, kleenex tissue, hand wipes (you carry hand sanitizer), little first aid/boo boo kit with safety pins, mylar blanket, screwdriver pen with bits, note pad, lighter, snack bar, water bottle (attached to my hero clip), hand warmers (winter time), cutlery with sauce packets in the container, pill container with pain relievers & allergy pills, wall plug & charger (with different ports), coin purse, floss picks, small gorilla tape, binder clip, paper clip, and rubber band.
Wow that is a cool loadout! Thanks for sharing
Opinels are rather nice cutters, I've found. And yes, it's annoying that being locking makes them unacceptable to your totalitarian government. I carry a Rambler on my keyring, a Handyman with Plus scales in my pocket, and usually a larger locking folder for pure cutting jobs. Currently a Cold Steel Kudu, since they're very cheap. I did pick up a Victorinox Champion Plus on eBay. That's basically the Swiss Champ without the pliers.
Nice set up!
Thanks!
No problem
Hi, didn’t see a link for the pouch, do you have one ?

Brilliant suggestions there, especially the door lock. Thanks 😀
No problem 👍
The Swisschamp is big and I often think of what I would do to slim it down, but the only think I would really consider removing is the fish scaler but the ruler is nice. If they had ruler markings on the scales then I'd ditch it but it would only make the knife a half layer thinner; in other words, hardly noticeable. As far as going with a Leatherman, if you don't need the pliers then there's no reason to use one over a SAK. The only exception might be the Arc, which has excellent blade steel, so if you want a lot more edge retention then that give it a definite advantage over the SAK. I have a nice horizontal sheath for the Swisschamp that Vineclimber recommended in a video and now I forget I'm carrying it.
The Charge also has great steel options.
Thanks for the advice!
I think we've watched the same YT reviews to build our kits! I use a Micro Maxpedition pocket pouch and it fits in my left front jeans pocket. I use a FoodSaver vacuumed credit card sized, custom pouch to squash down a pair of vinyl gloves. I have a J5 Mini BIC wrapped with medical tape, using a wire tie to stop the gas escaping. I also use multiple CC sized Ziploc bags for pills and open holders for money, paper, sewing kit, etc. I have an old CC wrapped with duct tape and then wrapped in aluminum foil. Some small diameter cordage is held in a shrink-wrap tube. I prefer a small, unopened, superglue tube to the glue gun glue. I cut mine in half for thinness, but decided it would be too messy to use. The superglue is intended for a single use. I also carry silicone ear plugs, Band-Aids, wipes, two cable ties, and a glasses repair kit in a small tube, along with a few toothpicks. A tiny Nextool Mini Sailor multitool (scissor version), a WeKnife Syrinx titanium pen and some flat EDC nail clippers. There's also a small microfiber cloth, a lip balm tube, safety pins and a largish paper clip. I also carry a CC sized stainless steel mirror and a CC sized fresnel lens. The front outside pocket has a CC holder with flat chewing gum in it and a piece of paper with my name and my emergency contact number on it. No address on it in case they get my house keys! A diy Snake Knot paracord is my zipper pull. I have a dovetailed magnetic keychain to hold my house keys hanging off the pull loop, along with a carabiner to hold my car key fob when needed. In my pocket under my Maxpedition is my EDC flashlight (Olight Baton4) with a Thrunite Titanium whistle hanging off it. My white handkerchief is in my back pocket and my slimline wallet, folding EDC comb/brush combo, and SOG Terminus XR folding knife go in my right front jean pocket. Cell phone is in my left back pocket! If you're really thoughtful on keeping things compact, you can carry a huge number of items without looking like a pack horse. Of course, being in the US, my gun holster hangs off my gun belt inside my jeans on my right side! Urban survival indeed! Nice video! 👍👍
That sounds awesome!
nailcare in the little pocket on the jeans cybertool lite in a sheath as work edc super tinker in my sling for non-work carry classic sd on my desk as go to box opener mini champ floating round - love that the philips is magnetic love these SAKs
Thanks for sharing. I’ll check them out!
The Mini Champ - fascinating with its 3 medical tools. Yes the “orange peeler” was used as a medicine bottle opener, the tracheotomy blade and pharmaceutical scoop.
Excellent thanks! If I change occupation I’m half way there haha!
Hey it’s a pocket tool. I carry it with Leatherman super tool and it works for me
Those who need to carry a big knife or firearm obviously have very little self confidence.
That could be true…
What an excellent psychologist your are.
@@monkpato 🤣
A big knife is one that is too big for the task it is used for. Using a kukri for whittling is too big. Using a kukri for chopping is about right. Some people complain about the small blade on a 91mm Victorinox as being useless, but there are uses where it is the correct size while the large blade is too big. Those who carry a firearm don't expect to need to use one, but prefer to have one rather than not have one in the rare chance for protection. Posing/displaying a big knife or firearm demonstrates immaturity.
Don't come to America with that logic lol
Personally i am waiting for the companion, which now is only in the expensive limited edition, is released with regular red scales
Ooo I’ll have to check it out
Hi, as another electrician I carry the alox electrician on a daily basis, but I have a few the champ for over 20 years and still going strong, the small screwdriver is invaluable, the scissors amazing, does yours not have a stainless pin in the scales near the corkscrew?
Just saw your other message! Thanks mate
I don't have a Leatherman so I can't speak to using those specifically. But when I was researching multi-tools it just seemed like a big jump for me without knowing if I really would use it to make the money worth it. I ended up going with a Gerber Suspension NXT and loved it. But it was a bit big for daily pocket carry as I was evolving my EDC gear. So then I got the SOG PowerPint which is a great tool for the money. And if you're looking for something even smaller that still has the pliers give the Gerber Dime a shot. All of these are WAY more affordable than a Leatherman and I'd highly recommend something more budget friendly to see if you'd even WANT this kind of tool. (Disclaimer: I'm in the USA so not sure as far as laws where you are when it comes to the items I've recommended.)
That is so helpful thank you!
I just carry the classic SD. It replaced the deadly lethal scary dangerous SwissCard Lite I was going to carry. This country is a joke.
Haha yes it's a pain! Thanks for sharing

Mine hangs from the rear view mirror so my passenger can reach it if I’m disabled in an accident. I used to have one of the hammer style breakers but when I rolled my vehicle it turned into a projectile so I stopped carrying it and looked for something else.
Oh wow good point!
Regarding tablets: I would definitely pack some Imodium for when you’ve got the runs!
Ah yes I have them in my micro essentials kit but not in here! Well done!
Don’t forget a small mirror too!, it can go a long way, I actually keep a small fold out mirror in my sling bag as well as my dopp kit as it can be used for everything from shaving on the go to checking your teeth after a meal or even as a signalling mirror in an emergency highly worth while having. Also a good replacement for a blindfold is a Buff it blocks out light just as good and has all the extra added functionality like a bandanna or hat if you’re caught out in the cold and rain. Also you’re more likely to have it somewhere accessible when travelling so if you need a blindfold for a long layover in an airport or a long flight you don’t have to go rooting around to find your dopp kit in your suitcase which you may or may not have with you at that time. highly recommend the Marino wool one!
Great stuff James! Yes I keep one in my micro essentials kit and my travel kit but I should really have one in here!
Nice kit Ian, just one thing, I can confirm that we all don’t need a comb in our life. Those days are long gone for me 😂😂
Haha sorry Tony!
Perhaps a spatula for moisturiser/tan cream to keep hands dry
I saw the video and ordered all of them. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
Come on man, show us a couple of magic tricks already.
Haha ok next week I promise!
I do appreciate the size and content is exactly what I have started to put together for myself, my wife and our son - so we each have some necessities - and being Canadian, that doesn’t include - as has been addressed in the comments already - hand gun and extra clips…. One thought - the mirror - is it stainless steel? Thinking that if it could be used in conjunction with a flat magnet, would broaden its potential application - notwithstanding one could “Macgyver” it with other components from your kit. Good video - now a follower. Professionally I work with companies to develop disaster planning and recovery plans… jokingly shared with one that anticipating worst case scenarios you have to think about including “Zombie apocalypse”…. So EDC has become a focus of late…
Yes it’s stainless steel! Thanks for the kind words!
Another solid video Ian! was really cool to see you try out my glass breaker suggestion a few videos ago. Also Matador happen to sell a similar fold out blanket to the one you showed and they claim theirs is water resistant, I’ve been looking to buy one for myself as it’s got an interesting quick fold up system on it. Also a quick lil tip if you are willing, Amazon has a great returns policy that perhaps could open up some avenues for new item reviews until you are getting the sponsors in.
Great idea thanks once again James!
Great video again Ian. I can sympathise with your theatre security interrogation. On a recent trip to The Big Smoke with the family I totally forgot about the 91mm Tinker SAK I had in my sling bag. Luckily it was actually Tower Bridge security that spotted it first saying "well that's not very good is it" to which I immediately retorted "but it's legal carry" 😂 I got away with my innocent looks (my young kids really) and made sure I deposited it, along with my keychain NextTool at the hotel before heading to the theatre that night, arriving 15 min late as a result. I also managed to get through Italian airport security (after some consultation) carrying a 51mm Alox SAK I forgot was on my keychain. I've now removed/swapped out the rather useless tiny blades from some versions of the none swiss army knives I carry every day.
Haha! Thanks for sharing!!
New to the channel Ian, some nice EDC content so far. Looking forward to watching your channel grow and watching the content you bring to it.
Awesome, thank you!

Thanks so much!
I have several of similar cheap pouches in different colors. One of them I use as my decoy/dummy wallet that has some fake cards in it looking like (at first glance) bank/credit cards and some day cash. I can't say I have all the stuff you have in my 'possibles pouch' but I do have a small buttom compass because in strange cities you can easily get all directions confused and as long as you have some mental picture in your head of the city layout it can prevent you from walking in the wrong direction. A loud whistle I carry around my neck. But the general idea of an EDC 'possibles pouch' is good. Just don't make it too big or bulky or you won't carry it every day.
Great points thanks for sharing!
