Notre Dame kicked Georgia around, Tennessee got smacked by Georgia. Texas couldn't beat either Georgia QB. Both of those teams would've got smacked by Notre Dame. Tennessee did no better in those freeezing temps against Ohio State. Tennessee would've got the same results if they had to face Notre Dame, especially in South Bend in that 15 degree weather. And the funny thing is Marcus Freeman dealing with those same academic standards can win a major bowl game, yet Kelly couldn't do that while at Cincinatti even. Notre Dame earned their way into the National Championship. They weren't lucky if they had to play their win through 3 games. Freeman at Notre Dame wons 2 major bowls, a home playoff win making it 3 playoff wins overall. James Franklin at Penn State has 4 major Bowl wins, a home playoff win, making it 2 playoff wins overall. David Shaw back when he coached Stanford also won 2 Major Bowls, though neither were playoff games. All 3 of those coaches did it with Academic Standards that are way higher than LSU'S. Brian Kelly, I guarantee wouldn't have gotten pass round one if still at Notre Dame, hell he wouldn've arrogantly turned down the pointers NIU's coach gave Freeman when that NIU game was over and probably would've lost one or two more games. I'm not guaranteeing it will happen. But until Brian Kelly starts actually winning playoff games, Marcus Freeman has a better chance of winning a Natty at Notre Dame than Brian Kelly does with LSU. Kelly hasn't produced since being at LSU. He may have good work ethic in the regular season, and the meaningless bowl games, but when it comes to winning something big as an underdog, Kelly has terrible work ethic in that category. Kelly during major bowl games is more focused on going golfing in the offseason than he is trying to win a meaningful game. Kelly is 0-5 in major bowls/playoff games. It's almost like the major bowl games/playoff games are like a chore to him. Sorry.
