As corny as it may sound, this video is at least a little inspiring for me, if only because I feel the same. I played a free weekend of Overwatch way back when, and did poorly enough that I was sure a bot would a better use of my spot on the team. But after a year of playing Guntank (my beloved) I do in fact feel more confident to consider trying other FPS's. Thanks for the video Sylvie, keep up the good work

That's wild! I never even connected the dots on Guntank teaching the fundamentals. Congrats on getting better at FPS games. I'm really gonna miss Gundam Evolution. I never got into Gundam till after playing this game. RIP you LEGEND and thanks for the fun!

I played GE for a bit and did have some fun but it was 60% a bad time because of the following: Migraine inducing stunlocks Matches ending abruptly if someone leaves Team only voice chat with very sporadic censoring (some words would be fully censored whilst other times only random segments would be) No proper counterplay to snipers Lack of game modes Heavy monetisation

You know, I always thought that auto-aim system that Guntank has is a complete crutch for people both new and old, too. Guess I was wrong in that sense after looking at your footage moving from this to even use a sniper like GM Sniper which is the exact opposite to auto-aim. Maybe it's just how you use the tools and have someone encourage you to start learning the more normal shooting mechanic MS what makes it a good starting point. Speaking of mechanic, the closest thing to GunEvo Guntank is Soldier 76's ultimate from OW which only usable during ultimate (which basically a crutch at that point) and any weapon with ASL system in GBO2. Other than those two, maybe old school Armored Core FCS mechanic, but regardless of those, I think none of them are used as entry level to FPS shooting. P.S: Almost forgot to mention Titanfall's Smart Pistol, but I haven't play that, yet my point still stands.

i mean, guntank is basically training wheels for FPS games. u dont have to worry about aim which allows you to focus on "actual" core elements like positioning, situational awareness, ability management etc. ppl who say, "aim is everything" are fking silver/gold players. yeah, stand out in the open from 5 different lines of fire. aim will defo help u out of that. it's good your chat managed to force you out of your comfort zone when you had the better tracking skills (my advice is keep crosshair slightly higher from gameplay footage) because you have the training wheels off now and gotta aim. the z2r was lovely. glad you could enjoy gundam evo as your first proper FPS game, and glory to gevo!
