Absolutely. People shouldn’t be worried about booking Porter. It is far better than Air Canada in terms of Economy comfort.

Unfortunately not. I gave up after following up for few weeks. Moreover, they made me sign a declaration form so I think I might have lost my eligibility for a refund. Oh well.. It happens. Thank you for your comment. I agree with you 100%. The interesting part is Air India is always at full capacity regardless of their aircraft. The direct routes from India-Australia/USA/Canada etc are always full as a lot of Indian passengers feel comfortable in flying with AI. As you said, once the old aircrafts are refurbished, AI will still have full capacity but very happy passengers too.

Air India won't loose customers. Question is if they can get new customers

Thank you for the positive comment. Much appreciated. Being a new TH-camr, I want to stay positive as much as i can in any travel situation. During this incident, I stayed calm as i didn’t want to get in trouble and i just wanted to get home to my family. It’s unfortunate what happened to me and it looks like few more people have been through the same situation as me at Delhi Airport with Air India. I hope this won’t happen again with anyone. I recently took AI in the newly refurbished A320neo from Qatar to Mumbai in J class and I had a fantastic experience. I will be sharing that too on my TH-cam in the next couple of months. You definitely got the wrong idea of my video. It was more about the frustration of dealing with the management on aircraft issues. I was told to come back after 2days and then re-check with the staff or fly economy. how is that fair? where was I supposed to go? I don't have any family in Delhi and Air India refused to pay for the hotel accommodation. That's not how other airlines deals with their customers who has paid arm and a leg for their flight ticket. On a good note, as I said in the video, the crew was amazing. So, no complaints about the crew at all. Its the overall Air India ground staff attitude that needs to change. I will be flying in their new aircraft A350 from Delhi to JFK in J class and I am looking forward to share my experience with you all.

Thank you for your comment. I agree with you. I feel Air India should not be selling Business class tickets if there are broken seats on the plane. Out of 18 seats, 4 were broken and all the 18 passengers paid for J class. If they knew that 4 seats were broken, don't sell them at J Class price. That's my frustration :( . Good to know you like CX. I am flying for the first time in their J class in April from Melbourne to Guangzhou and I am really excited to see what happens on that flight. I took 6 flights with SQ and 2 with TG this year and I will posting my videos very soon. All the flights were fantastic but in terms of Food, Air India is far better than other airlines.

@MaddyMelbourneWala the problem with Air India is the non existent of customer service and no shits given attitude as you pointed out by the check in agent. I agree with you if you have paid for J you should be getting that product, it's funny how they equated Y class to J. I hope you get your refund back, or at least a travel credit to the value of the flight for future use so AI can redeem themselves of the shortfall, especially for this long haul flight to Au. cheers

You are 100% correct. Customer service doesn't exist. I doubt it I will get anything back as I signed a declaration form before sitting on the seat. I will share an incident that happened during the check in. While I was in the middle of the argument, one uncle ji told me "jaldi karo na" in an angry manner. I was already frustrated and that comment from uncle ji didn't help. Anyways..its all good. Hopefully, my experience in their A350 in Q4 2025 will be nicer than the old 787s. Thank you Sandeep for sharing your experiences. You are right. Its the poor management that made me more upset rather the the broken seat. I was told by the ground staff "sir.. aapko do din baad business class mein bhej denge" and i asked him what's the guarantee that I would get a proper seat and then he said "uski toh koi guarantee nahin. agar engineer seat fix nahin kar paaye, aap economy mein chal jaana". So, I asked him "can you provide a hotel for 2days" and he was like "woh toh aapko pay karna hoga". I was furious but there was nothing more I could do. he told me to wait until the whole aircraft is full. Then, this declaration form drama was very frustrating too. I am sure these seat issues happens with other airlines too but I have never seen this type of treatment by the ground staff. Hopefully, this attitude will change over time. Regarding Qantas, I flew in their J class A-330 from Mel-Delhi last year and the experience was below average. My daughter asked them to warm up her milk bottle but the crew showed no interest. So, I had to ask them few times. There were many incidents like that during the whole flight. I also felt the crew was very racist. The seats were old too as they were using the same aircraft that the use for Mel-Perth Route. I will definitely make a vlog on my next Qantas J class and share it on youtube.

@MaddyMelbourneWala Agreed in such instances Airlines need to cover the cost of hotel as the fault was the airlines. Off the topic airlines save costs behind laws which don't obligate them to do so. Think they introduced reimbursement in oz recently for similar issues , saying that it can't be at the cost of experience when AI is rebuilding its brand. Between you and me hamara desi crowd bhi to subhan allaha hai. Sab kuch itni gandi tarah sey use karte hai .

oh really. I wasn't aware of this. I will not be flying Air India 787s again from Melbourne to Delhi or vice versa anymore. There are many more airlines to explore especially when flying J. Bilkul theek bola aapne..apne log bhi kamm nahin ..haha. @MaddyMelbourneWala Dont be so harsh on AI . I came away very happy because of the fantastic food and service . My mum and dad came back to Oz with me and travelled back home on AI , and the air hostesses and captain couldn't do enough .. wouldn't stop feeding them and me :)) I agree with you the product needs upgrade which they are in the process off ( time consuming I know ) ... but give them a go again in a year or 2. I saw noticeable difference in cabin crew , in-flight service and overall experience. Some nostalgia- my dad travelled on the very seat you were allotted:)). And that wooden board ( for feet ) has a bend in them because I was sitting on them facing my mum and dad during our flight , only to be politely told that they can't take my weigh ( 94kilos ) hence I feel I left my impression on it which hopefully changes with a replacement hahah Good to talk to you and hopefully our home career lives up to our expectations and makes us indians proud

I agree that the staff was very nice. They noticed I was being unwell and offered me panadol and neurofen. I don't remember the name of the crew and if she is reading this comment, she knows I am talking about her. I was only being harsh with the ground staff at Delhi Airport, not with Air India. I always feel ke agar paise dene hai toh apni India ki airlines ko do if they fly on my route. I am really looking to my A350 AI flight from Delhi to JFK next year. Hopefully, they will start flying to Aus-India route as well in their new A350s. That's so interesting about your Father. I am sure he can relive his AI memories in this vlog :). Thanx again mate. Hi Ashish bro. Thank you for your comment and good luck with the refund. I knew getting a refund will be impossible so I bit the bullet and flew on the broken seat. Did you mum then flew on the same day with Air India or she flew with a different airline? I am sure she would been upset too with her poor experience with the ground staff. I believe Air India is now flying A-350 from Delhi to JFK and the reviews are fantastic. If you ever book with Air India A350 on that route, please share your experience and I am interested to see if anything changes with the new aircrafts.

Mate.. 2039 is very far away. Why not earlier? I think by then, Emirates would retire A380s and they will only be flying 777, 787 and A350s for long distance flights. I am sure you will have a great experience with Emirates. Best of luck. Thank you for commenting 😇

I feel sorry for the crew at times. They are just doing their job and they have to deal with many unhappy passengers. It’s the management that is hopeless. My new Air India vlog will be out in few days and you will see how i was harassed at Delhi airport. I was flying from Delhi to Melbourne in Business class and i was forced to sign a declaration. But, the crew was fantastic in the whole flight

Vegan culture is growing very fast in Bali. I go to Bali every year and this time i saw vegan restaurants all around Ubud ❤❤

The real issue in ANZ market is Qantas's monopoly. They can fly any route and charge whatever costs they feel like and they will still fly full. Old planes, poor entertainment screens, average food is what they offer on ANZ routes. I am flying in their J class to LAX in Q2 and will try to fly F on the way back on their A380s. Its sad that people spend so much money on Air India Business class and the experience they receive is really sour. They have a huge market to capture and once they replace their old planes, people will happily travel Air India without a doubt.

I do remember writing on my boarding pass but I left my boarding pass in my seat so unfortunately, I don't have it now (. I will make sure I write reg numbers in my travel journal for all future travels.

I agree. The experience will change with the new planes. I flew their A320 new with the seats from Doha to Mumbai last week and the experience was amazing.
