I listen to a lot of the stories in this genre. Makes work go fast but if I hear one more time any of these …indomitable human spirit, grim determination, cut through shields like tissue paper I am gonna lose my ever loving mind

Way too much repetition and WAY too much focus on "human spirit" and values (unity, hope, coordination). It's less HFY and more bla bla bla. The only thing that makes it SF is the galactic background. Take out that part, and it can be medieval or even stone age stuff. The S in SF stands for science, so less BS and more tech.

This was quite the struggle to listen to. Every 2 minutes or so you re-read the same part of the story.
