Did you feel safe in Floripa?
Yes, 90% of the time we felt safe. To be fair, we feel like there is nowhere in the world that is completely safe.
Magandang umaga po, gusto ko po sanang malaman kung may pagkaing katulad ng sa Pilipinas o Brazil?
hello, yes there are some similarities but quite rare
Hi, mahirap makipag-usap sa mga Brazilian dahil mahina ang English.
22:30 It's a common thing here to give the extra drink since it's a fresh product and they can't make the exact quantity of it, they give what exceed. It's know as "Chorinho" around here.
Legal casal vocês são incríveis, aproveitem bastante.
muito obrigado
I live in criciuma in the south of SC there's some families from asia specially from phillipines, vietnam and Cambodia living here, i think they came after the natural disaster that happened last decade... Everytime i see them they're smiling and doing their routines, i think they're very responsible and lovely people... Criciuma is a medium city 200000 habitants...
😮 omg everything looks delicious 👏

Really interesting conversation guys. I am not Brazilian either but I've been visiting Brazil frequently over the last couple of years. So it's interesting for me to hear opinions from other foreigners. Just to piggyback on some of the topics you guys discussed: 1) Acai is a fruit native to Brazil. In the north and northeast of the country, people consume it in its purest form, acai juice, which is made by crushing the fruit. In this form, acai has a very mild, earthy, and at times, bitter taste. In regions more south, acai is consumed in a more processed form, as puree with sweeteners added. 2) CPF is like an ID card number. Many things require CPF, such as registration of a Brazilian sim card and buying a monthly transportation card. You can obtain a CPF number even as foreigners. 3) The beaches of Rio de Janeiro are not as good as the beaches where you guys are in currently. So, there is no reason to go to Rio unless you guys want to visit the Cristo Redentor and Sugarloaf Mountain. My recommendations for beaches are Arraial do Cabo and Buzios.
Amazing insights! We didn't know there is bitter acai and you can get cpf as a foreigner. Why would a foreigner need one though? and also, we have been talking about this as well if we missed out on Rio, thanks for confirming that we did not haha. We might visit Rio though next time for the carnaval we know it's world famous and a must do.
@@aeyandmel The version of acai you guys are having is the more processed form. Acai naturally has that earthy bitter taste. In the north and northeast, the acai juice is sold in plastic bags by the liter. The people there normally have the acai juice with farofa without sugar along side their lunch or dinner. CPF have a lot of uses for Brazilians. For foreigners, CPF is very useful in registration of brazilian sim cards. Otherwise, one would have to use their passport and a trip to the mobile shop. And yes, Rio's carnaval is a must but just keep in mind that accommodations will be very expensive around that time.
Hi Aey and Mel! I'm glad you liked my country. I hope you come back to visit other cities, eat different foods and see different people. Next month I'm going to the Philippines with my wife (Filipino) and daughter. It's the second time I've been to your country and I really enjoyed it. Like Brazil, the country has a lot of problems, but the people and the food are wonderful. Good luck on your next trip. Hugs!
I hope you and your family enjoy Philippines as much as we have enjoyed Brazil 😍say 'Hi' to your filipino wife for us 😄
There’s a beach in the north of the island called Jurerê Internacional, perfect place to spend a day there. Nice beach, excellent restaurants, a strip full of stores and pub bars.
We actually was just there in Jurerè and you are right we absolutely loved it there!
A tip for you guys about food. Find a place to taste moqueca and strogonoff. You’re gonna thank me for that!
We're keeping our eyes peeled for those dishes, thanks for the tip!
Such a lovely couple 🤩 it’s just amazing to hear from your point of view. I’m glad you took the decision to go to Floripa and explore this amazing island. Floripa is the safest Brazilian capital as well as the State of Santa Catarina. As you’re in Campeche, don’t miss the opportunity to go to the Campeche island, it’s just breathtaking. Hope Floripa is treating you well. 🤗
Thanks so much 😊 We love Floripa and it has been one of our favourite places in the world
👏🏻🇧🇷💞🇧🇷🫰🏻
That extra that came in the drink here we call it "Chorinho"
Mais gringos aqui no Brasil, estou adorando os vídeos de vocês. Sejam bem vindos, e conheçam a Amazônia, visitem Belém, meu lugar favorito do pais.
Thanks for the support 😍 We love Brazil
I think you guys are going to move to Brazil
haha we would love to stay indefinitely and learn portuguese! 😍
Hello. Brazil ceased to be a colony of Portugal in 1815. Then, at the time of its independence in 1822, Brazil had the status of the United Kingdom of Portugal. The official name was the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves.
wow we didn't know that, thanks for sharing!
Uma coisa que me incomoda são as legendas com fundo preto, elas tomam a metade da tela e fica difícil a visualização das imagens, atrapalha demais, poderiam tirar o fundo preto mas mantendo as legendas!
I think this is a settings in youtube that you can change?
@aeyandmel , Como já disse, poderia colocar só as legendas, na cor amarela, sem o fundo preto.
Great history. Good to see.
❤
A doubt: do you speak english only during the videos or also in your private life?
why do you ask?
Remember, having friends who work in agriculture is always advantageous too, it's been years since I paid for foliage and vegetables (Or at least make friends who are willing to help you.)
We wish we have friends in agriculture!
I wish I could be there with you guys, you went to a good grocery store.. I'd like to give you both a tour, and maybe what do you (should/could/must) want to eat that it is uniquely ours. Or also, our interpretation(or deturpation) of foreign dishes with our "huehue" spirit.
Would have been a great idea! We'd love to learn more about your food culture.
Brasil ❤️ 👈🇧🇷🤝⚽️🇧🇷⚽️
R35 for that buffet is absolutely a great price. Brazilian foods are very well seasoned and the meat dishes are so good
It’s so worth it! we even had two plates 😬
What a beautiful and pleasant place to take a nice relaxing stroll. Totally different vibe for Rio and Sao Paulo.
It's so nice to see the different sides of Brazil!
16:32 É comum brasileiros falarem de suas vidas com pessoas que não conhecem. Não são todos que fazem isso, mas é comum.
Yeah it was a very interesting and unique interaction but we are grateful to have learned her aspirations too
BRASIL país continental o 5 maior do mundo e a 8 economia do mundo país tropical com milhares de praias de oceano e de rio montanhas morros cataratas belezas naturais mundialmente conhecidas brasil paraíso na terra.

Is it true that the Philippines is the country in Asia that most resembles Brazil?
Hm, we don't think so. Sao Paulo can resemble Metro Manila we it being a concrete jungle and the chaos of it all. The beaches are also vastly different. only Boracay can come close to Campeche, but it can get exponentially more expensive in the Philippines. We have westerner friends who were suprised by how expensive it was in the Philippines. Also accessibility, it is much harder to get around in the PH because of how many islands there are, compared to how easy it was for us to get around Floripa. Hope this helps!
@@aeyandmel Well, I see testimonials from Brazilians who travel to Asia and are surprised how similar the Philippines is to Brazil, maybe culturally speaking the religious macho culture and a Latino vibe, maybe. idk
Culturally speaking, yes the latino vibe is kinda similar. To us personally, it is closer we feel like, to Colombia, but not too far off from Brazil either.
@@aeyandmel in Latin America, Colombia, despite not speaking Portuguese, is the country that most resembles Brazil and Brazilians.
@@aeyandmel I think that Brazilian travelers who go to Asia find the Philippines similar to Brazil in contrast to other asians countries, as they have a completely different culture!

well it worked! we felt very special 🤣 wdym did the audio break? or was it because of the wind
GOD! that's the most bougie grocery store i ever saw here
Usually, the "free" buffet option works well when you eat a lot. Some restaurants specify a weight, and if you pass it, they will charge you like "free buffet", so you don't have to weigh your plate everytime you decide to eat more.
We like the free buffet option 😂
Floripa is a little paradise: good Local people, good sea food everywhere & beautiful beach to relaxe before the swarming of south americans tourist arrive and take up the whole place!
Floripa is our new favourite place in the world 😍
2:05 Actually our pronunciation is pretty close to the way words are spelled. You only need to learn and get used to our pronunciation rules, which are obviously different from Spanish or English. The example you raised though (6 = "seish") is specific accent from certain regions of the country. If you say SEIS (say+s) it will be totally fine.
Thank for the clarification! We also noticed alot of the Spanish words are similar to Portuguese but have different pronunciation? Would you say you can live in Brazil if you only know Spanish?
@@aeyandmel Well, both languages are really similar (vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction), but Brazilians in general don't speak Spanish, so that you'll gotta learn how the Portuguese pronunciation works in order to take advantage of this similarity. Portuguese has a bunch of sounds that don't exist in Spanish, so that sometimes it is hard for a Spanish speaker to catch Portuguese words. Once living here, Spanish speakers naturally improve their Portuguese speaking skills pretty fast, comparing to an English speaker, for example.
Thanks for the info! we are still refining our Spanish, so maybe in the future Portuguese too
Are you a Filipino ?
yes, we are! 🇵🇭
Pao de açucar is a well know as one of the most expensive supermarkets. Those vegetables are much chepear in other supermarkets, farmermarkets or hortifrutis (Idont know the translation, but is a shop that only sell vegetables)
Did you mean wet markets? unfortunately there wasn't one that was near where we were staying
@aeyandmel not exactly. Some of them sell a few other itens beside vegetables, but usually its vegetables only in a shop. Wet market It would be "mercado público" and I really advise you to not buy fruits there, because they can be really scammers.
Growing up I used to buy my Havaianas at the bakery near my house
Try to overcome shy and engage conversation with brazilians
Brazilians are really nice and friendly!
J in Portuguese doesn't sound like Spanish. It sounds like French.
Very good
