Uneek Poultry was started by Our Director Andrew from his keen interested in Parrots and Chickens. Having kept them for 30 years as a hobby and continues to do so on their property on the Bass Coast of Victoria. Before this Andrew worked in the Medical instrumentation industry for over 15 years. He worked with high end Hospital and Research instruments right down to small incubators used in Research Laboratories. Great video. I have a second hand janoel24 and it's temp it shows is 2degrees lower than it actually is. I tested it with an inkbird hygrometer and thermometer. Fingers crossed the eggs hatch without drama

We have this incubator. It is very quiet
From Cornwall UK, - I have just borrowed one of these 48's, and tomorrow start incubating just 10 chicken eggs. Not the best time of year, but I have excellent facilities. After hatching there is the conservatory aviary with heat lamp. Then enclosed garden run, - and free range when the chicks are old enough. Previously 100% success rate with a Brinsea incubator. Thank you for the tuition on this Janoel 8-48.

I have had a Janoel 24 for a couple of years now. I have only used it a few times hatching chicken. I wish to hatch geese, but I am finding the temperature is too high within the incubator. Have you experienced this?
Yes it can happen sometimes. The early models are able to be calibrated. On the newer models they have locked out the settings menu so they cant be. I would suggest turning down the temperature and writing down the set temp so you know where it should always be. We also recommend to use an inkbird Mini to monitor the temp and humidity and make sure the incubator is behaving itself.

I know may sound silly but with the basket tray does it matter how the eggs are put in?
Hi Emilee, if they are chicken size eggs its best to stick to the recommendations of the manufacturer and put a max of 48 into it. So you can put anywhere from 1 to 48 chicken eggs. If you have quail eggs then you can add more than the 48 as they are lot smaller.

I just got one. You can't. Unless you buy a separate Hygrometer and set it up.
No you cant. we recommend to use a Hygrometer like the Inkbird Mini. Uneek Poultry make a special bracket for them so they fit easily into the incubators. The Inkbird mini will tell you the humidity and temperature so you can ensure its all working well and the incubator is behaving itself.

I have to same hatcher as you. Day 18 today. We have 48 eggs in. Have increased the water by filling tray and 2 glasses of water next to eggs. Temp wont move above 54 degrees. Is this okay?
Thanks for your comment. The Temp should stay at 37.7 Deg C but you will need to increase the humidity by adding water. I think this may be what you meant. If you had extra water and its still not reaching a high enough humidity then try blocking off one of the vents on the lid. This will help.
