Most people in the industry think like this, but the real problem is that the corporate leadership won’t ever go for it. So only indie developers do, and then when they do, gamers start making a stir about release dates so they have to release it earlier, and then complain that it’s buggy after a rushed release. And both the gamers, and the corporate suits are encouraging crunch and unhealthy work standards for developers because of it.

Talking to 2 FFXIV players about FFXI carries no weight FFXIV is the most casual easy skill less games I ever played it’s just beautiful graphically it takes zero skill once you know the mechanics in a fight it’s an automatic win we used to farm Alexander on savage like you kill bunnies in FFXI.

The reason FFXI was killed off on console was because the PS2 and 360 versions holding it back technically and wasn’t an easy game to play when WOW showed up it became so popular because it was easy to play to travel make Gil and level where FFXI was a super grind than FFXIV showed and took easy to a whole new level it takes ZERO skill and these 2 casual FFXIV players have zero clue most FFXI players tried FFXIV but left and either stopped playing or went to private servers not one friend from FFXI stayed long playing FFXIV it was considered beautiful garbage.

That pretty dissapointing, they could actually make a rich lore story within the game and make a DLC of it or probably make an event for free to play player to collect items for a requirements to join the further rich lore event, there's so many thing they could do and think to make the game more interesting for free to play or even pay to play player but instead they shut down the game. I got the mount - honestly, it’s cheaper than trying to get the in-game longboi from the black market auction house (whether I save 9999999 gold or buy wow tokens). Would it ruin my game if I didn’t have it? Absolutely not. Is it nice to have? Sure…although I keep finding myself using it…in front of the action house. I guess it’s not really adding any value, but I don’t regret the purchase 🤣

Squadron 42 and Star Citizen were always part of the plan. They didn't add the MMO later. If you watch the original pitch video from 2012, he mentions this at about 3:10 into the video.

The real fix is no more politics on twitch, no more sex on twitch. If you break these rules your partner status is revoked, if it happens again your account is removed from the platform for a year. If a streamer issues a death threat or requests a hit on another person, remove them from the platform for at least 2 years. by remove i mean full account deletion they have to start from 0.

So... There's a good point in there being a middle ground. "DEI", which I feel like has become more of a... I forget the term, but basically just a word or phrase used to get attention by the person mentioning it. Anyway, I feel like diversity, equity, and inclusion are important but shouldn't be THE main point in marketing. I've seen extremely few games make it a point though. The most recent Saint's Row did, but it just took what the previous two games did and pushed it up a level. It flopped due to gameplay from poor controls and story though. But, diversity is important so long as it fits the game. It makes extreme sense in fantasy, sci-fi, and games based around the Americas and Europe especially. Equity is also important so a player isn't basically super restricted by their character or potential accessibility issues such as colorblindness. Inclusivity is also important because the real world has many different people in it. And I'm not specifically talking about something like adding a prominent story character who's gay. I mean even adding black hairstyles. I'm half Asian and half Black. I have very curly hair and I'm a guy. In so many video games with character customization, I was always the only one out of all my friends who COULDN'T make themselves in some way in the game. Either there's no skin tone like mine (either bright, pale, or very dark, and I'm in the middle), no hair like mine (black hair options usually either being an afro, dreads, or cornrows), and often also finding male characters have 1/10th the customization options and clothes that female characters get. Like, how come the girls can wear winter clothes in the snow area but I'm stuck in a tee shirt and shorts from the dollar store? I've also found some of my colorblind friends struggle with so many games because the colors on UI will blend in with other things. Can't see waypoints on some maps, can't tell ally and enemy colors apart, so on. I've also found that some games will let me have short, curly hair like mine AND let me have my skin tone, but then literally every other character is peachy or pale and then I stand out so much against the entire cast, which makes me feel really out of place. But I also want to add, in terms of LGBT stuff, it takes more time to code interactions to rely on character genders than for it to just rely on character existing, and I feel players should be allowed to express themselves in a game. If you're playing BG3 and you're a guy but don't want to romance one of the guys? Then don't romance one of them. Literally nothing is forcing you to. You're a girl and you wanna romance one of the girls? Go ahead, it's literally optional content for anyone. So many people accuse games of "forcing wokeness" but 99% of these games really don't. It's either a background object in one spot, character lore that has no impact on gameplay or expression, or it's an optional feature that just says "yeah, you can do whatever you feel like with customization or romancing, or you can even do none of either if you want to"

This one hurt so much, but it just proves what I always feared… the MMO concept has been replaced by Mobile/Gatcha. The amount of money games like Genshin Impact bring is just astronomical they make billions every single year, so having every single mechanic in the game behind a paywall is slowly but surely becoming standard. All you have to do is look at the Mobile Gaming Market to see what the future in gaming will become.

This game wont come out anymore and its a shame... so much potential, ressources and time went into this for nothing.

"Stay Woke" is and always has been used in Black American cultures since the late 1930's to stay vigilant, knowledgable & aware of your surroundings and place in our society do to anti-Black racism, (especially in the Jim Crow south). Our term was basterdized by anti-Black racist people to take the place of the n-word, and then many non-black people basterdized it further to stay knowledgable about their issues. That's when bigots in todays time morphed it to mean anything that centers groups of people who're discriminated against.
