That surge channel was a fun one to tackle solo. Only one that gave me pause on the Owen Point -> Beach Access A stretch
You are brave going solo on those!
When it rains on that trail, it's embrace the suction
@@donj4198 you got that right.

By ´they’ do you mean us?

I loved the way the wind made waves in the green wheat fields
We did too. It was so beautiful. I tried to capture it on videos the best I could. 😀
Nancy et Jacques, I just stumbled upon your video journey and I am loving your commentary. Merci beaucoup! I think you would absolutely love the casa rural Molino Galochas in Villavante, a day or day and a half outside León. It’s on the Villar de Mazarife alternativo path. Mercedes, the innkeeper, is a gem. It’s an old mill house in one of the most romantic settings on the Camino. (Why do I think of Armand Gamache when I hear your husband?! 😘) Bon chemin.
Hi and thank you for your comments. I am glad you are enjoying the commentary. I am taking note of your suggestion for Villavante. We will definitely go upon our return to finish the camino. Thank you for taking the time to share this info with us. Where are you from? We both did not know Armand Gamache. Had to google it. LOL. We added the serie to our watch list now. It must be the gray beard and the accent. :-)
@@blueskynancy3396 I live in northern New Mexico. Although I haven’t seen the series, I’m reading the mystery novels about the Québécois detective Gamache, and in my imagination, he sounds like your husband. Take care.
Hi back Nancy, we live in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I am already planning our return visit to the Camino Frances for next year. Mostly using the accommodation reviews from the Wise Pilgrim app to select but it’s not comprehensive enough. That is why your videos are so valuable to me because most of the others don’t even show them let alone name them. I absolutely agree with you about booking ahead, I booked everything last year and plan to do the same again for our return. I’m also impressed with your photography skills. I need to improve my ability to utilise my iPhones capabilities to its full extent. Looking forward to seeing that future video on your accommodations. Thanks again Darryl and Janet.
Thank you again for the compliment on my photography. Easier to snap pictures than to do the videos. Walking and holding the iphone and staying steady is always a challenge while making sure you don't trp. LOL. The review video will likely be released only in a few weeks when we return home. We have a couple weeks of visiting family in Quebec city first.
Thanks I’ll check them out. Enjoying you showing your accommodations. My wife and I walked the Frances last June/July and also stayed in private rooms. Our plan is to return this time next year and repeat the journey however taking more time and like yourselves staying more off stage. Really love the look of Posada Ignatius in Navarrete for example. Loving your journey. Cheers Darryl and Janet Australia.
Hi Daryl and Janet! Where are you from in Australia? I lived in Adelaide for 10 years back in the late 80s. I love Australia. So glad you found the videos useful. We actually plan to do a future video talking about our favorite accommodations. Booking ahead is the way to go.
Thank you, it’s been a pleasure. I’ve enjoyed your camino very much. Safe journey home.
Thanks for sharing your Journey. It’s been a lot of fun watching you.
Thanks for watching! So glad you enjoyed it. We will do a few mores videos to share tips tricks and our top accommodations and highlight.
The monastery ruins are amazing! Gracias por mostrarlonos!!
I know right. Every day has brought treasures to us. We are grateful.
Next time I’m walking with you two. You are getting the best meals!
Sounds good! Join us. I managed well despite the food restrictions of gluten free. The wine was always good. 🤪
I looked it up: the scallop shell is a symbol of rebirth... like what the pilgrims experience at the end of the trail! Enjoy!!
😀
I’m so glad you opened your video with, “Incredibly Beautiful Meseta”. When I walked there in 2023, I’d heard of people avoiding the Meseta because of every reason they could explain. I loved it! In so many ways, I found myself on the Meseta. I can hardly wait to go back in August ‘24. Buen camino, both of you.
I know right!? I think when you walk the mesata may be key. We definitely picked the best of time and got super lucky with the weather. Very grateful.
Wow! What a gorgeous panorama, the light and colors are absolutely magnificent. Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey! 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 🙏 for your comments.
Windy and wet in Invermere, too... but hot sun coming back soon!
Just in time for our return. 😀
I don't think you need the poles... you are getting younger!
😝
Hi guys, Loving your journey. Where can I source the drink bottle holders you have attached to the front of your packs? Buen Camino.
The brand name is CTUG. We bought them in the US.
Nancy, it´s Miren from Etxeurdina, thank so much for your words and your lovely video. The best for you and Jacques
Thank you too!

Une autre belle journée ,combien de kilomètres qui vous reste à faire? ❤❤
Une soixantaine.
I have the same “rash” on my ankles after a 13 mile hike around a beautiful lake yesterday. I don’t always get it, more likely when wearing thicker tighter socks. It you can find new socks that are looser around your ankles it would help.
Good to know. The cortisone cream did the trick. We lowered the socks too.
I like the filming of the filming!! 🐞
🤪
Great recap & gear info! You’re an amazing team! So excited to watch your next adventure!
Thanks so much for watching! It’s been truly awesome hiking together.
I’m watching you pack up and you can’t imagine how much I miss this routine…even with the rain. Gotta love 💩 in the rain lol CONGRATULATIONS guys! YOU MADE IT TO NORTH CAROLINA!!! Did any part of you wish you were continuing?
Thanks! Yes part of me would have loved to continue but our heads were with Georgia as the goal so we were content to be done as well. Hoping for another state next year. Section Hiking is good too!
Love all the birds! Especially the Wood Thrush! Look at all those beautiful streams! It’s crazy how many mountains you climb up & down in Georgia! GREAT JOB YOU TWO!!!
Thank you!!
Merci pour le partage profitez de chaque moment vous êtes beau à suivre💕💕💕🙏
C'est gentil merci
Buena suerte al hopital!! Dejamos saber... !!
The cortisone did the trick. All good now.
Umbrella looks ideal.
One of my favorite piece of gear. Works great in the rain and the sun! Very durable and extra light. The brand is Hyperlite in case you want to check them out. Expansive but worth it.
The 5 o'clock bell was beautiful... your timing was impeccable!
Yes it was!
Last year I simply winged it for accommodation and it was great but, I found myself worried and preoccupied with concerns about where I might stay. This year, like you guys, I’ve booked ahead because I want private rooms and bathrooms, and I don’t want to have to be thinking about that all the time. I guess winging it works for younger folks and those who want the communal experience, but I’m a crusty old geezer and may have a tendency to being a rather generous snorer! 🤣 Buen Camino, both of you.
Haha! We completely understand and agree with you. Makes it even more pleasant from our POV.
Oh an Buen Camino.
Thank you for taking the time to answer questions. The idea of not knowing if there would be an available room at the end of a long day walking has made me hesitant in doing a Camino. Knowing that it’s possible to book in advance is a relief. Thank you for the beautiful videos and sharing your experiences
Yes for sure you can. It will make it very smooth for you. Just do the work ahead of time. As we said in the video, if your estimation are not what happens on a particular day, just take a bus or a taxi. No hesitation. Better than and walk what you can, then not walking any parts of it. You can do it too!
Loving your videos we miss u bit glad ur having so many adventures
So glad to hear you and the girls are watching. I’ll give a special shout out to Faith and Emily soon. Keep watching. Happy summer vacation girls.
I would really appreciate a list of where you are staying. Enjoying your Camino very much. So much great wine.🍷
Glad you are enjoying the videos. Yes great wine!!! Ok on the list. Noted. Will compile and share perhaps in a later dedicated video.
@@blueskynancy3396 If need be maybe when you finish your Camino.
Yes thanks. 🙏
Still wonderful following you both on your incredible journey. I had lunch on Navarrete last year. Perhaps this year I’ll be smart enough to stop over. Buen camino, peregrinos.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Very glad you are enjoying watching! 😀
That's what Santiago means after all, not just walking all day to get to Santiago de Compostela. Santiago means meeting new people, making friends everywhere, learning new things and enjoying life. Thank you for stopping by. threshold
Thank you Adrian and Tatiana. You were spectacular hosts. We both enjoyed our time with you. Food and wine was awesome. Sala in Navarrete!!!! I have also a great picture of all 4 of us. Would love to send to you. Muchos gracias. 🙏
How lovely to be in Navarette for Corpus Christi.
It truly was very impressive and touching. That said, we are still not understanding what Corpus Christi is versus the first communion? Is it the same? Do you know? Thanks. 🙏
@@blueskynancy3396 It was a first communion. Many young people do their first communion on the Feast of Corpus Christi. And then form part of the procession through town of the blessed eucharist. The Feast of Corpus Christi is a holy day of obligation for catholics and celebrates the real body of christ in the eucharist. It’s a big day across Spain. Wonderful to be in Navarrete on Corpus Christi. I was there during Easter holy week a few years ago and that too was a real treat. My favourite church on the camino.
Thanks so much for that explanation. Much appreciate the insight.
The view from the castle was amazing. After your long day hiking I’m impressed that took on the extra hike, but what a reward.
Yes indeed the reward was worth the work. We were the only ones up there. Very cool.
Spain has the best gluten free options in the grocery stores. I found rolls in single serving and double serving packages. Every brand was wonderful.
Great tip! I agree. Now I carry bread in my pack. Always ready.
What day did you start?
May 24
The yellow bush is Cytisus scoparius also called Scotch Broom or Common Broom. It’s beautiful, but terribly invasive in North America. I just found out that there is a Spanish Broom, so that is probably the species you are seeing.
Thank you so much for the detailed answer. Much appreciated.
I found your channel last night. So nice to see more mature people documenting the Camino :D I think those flowers are what we know in the UK as Broom, I believe it is called Retama in Spanish.
Awesome! Thank you!🙏 for the information on the flower. Glad you found our channel. 😀
Merci de partager ce tte aventure avec nous beaux souvenirs ❤❤

Une belle journée ensoleillée ❤❤
Oui. Beaucoup de beau temps. Très chanceux.
Hi there! Where did you take the taxi out of Pamplona to?
I will ask Jacques as he organized it. Will answer in video.
Your videos are always fantastic. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you!! 🙏
Thank you for the wonderful vicarious journey down memory lane along with you both. Buen Camino mis amigos peregrinos.
Glad you are enjoying it. When did you do your Camino?
@@blueskynancy3396 I walked in September of ‘23 and it was such an incredible experience that I’m going back in August of this year. Buen Camino.
Awesome
Food truck WoW
Yes it was great!!
You both look great as a couple. I was especially impressed by the clip where you both put on sunglasses. I really enjoyed the video and have subscribed to your channel. One suggestion: working on your video hooks and thumbnails can improve the click-through rate (CTR) and average view duration, which will help attract new audiences to your channel. If you need any help with this, just let me know.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I will consider.
That topic of taking a taxi…! I suggest, walk your own Camino. If that means the occasional taxi or bus or whatever … it’s your Camino and you never have to please the self-proclaimed purists. Buen Camino you two.
Thank you! 🙏
