Can a no-cartridge, no-waste razor shave better than all the rest?? - The Leaf Razor
มุมมอง 1.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, John reviews the Leaf Razor, an "old meets new" shaving implement that uses 3 safety razor blades rather than expensive and wasteful cartridges for shaving. The product is expensive, but solid, produces no waste, and is extremely cheap to use after purchasing. It's great for those of us trying to make a difference to our environment but the all-important question is: does it shav...

Does the camera lens exaggerate the steepness? Seems so sketchy I want to go and try but the videos make it seem so easy to slip and die
How did you passe the guy when going back on the ridge? It seems like its kind of risky operation to perform.
Learn how to speak english. Rooooooot not rowt
I like the cloth on the doors much better than the cheap feeling and looking plastics that I have seen on other models
as donald jr i made th ascent frm zermatt in summr of 68 en route to israel & moslem & hindu worlds
Its good to see the old AMC designers got new jobs in todays auto industry. Money doesn't go as far in retirement as it used too.
And are old VW Golf designers.😂 Hey, the newer generations has no clue. They've never seen them. Whoever thought that the POS Mazda Miata would become popular, yet some young people think it's the greatest thing ever. Styles always come aound. Good or bad.
The rear is butt ugly and I thought my model Y was not so pretty.
This is what I want in 27-28’ parked inside my garage. Love EVs and Rivian as a brand
Really not that bad. But please, those ugly headlamps and rims... :-(
I’m sorry, but this video was so aggravating to watch. RJ introduced this back in March…how do you guys know so little about it? I was so frustrated watching this because I was hoping for some new insights, but you didn’t even know the R2, which I immediately reserved after it rolled out during the launch event, is starting at $45K. I thought you were “Dr. Know-it-All…” Had you known that and seen any other coverage out there, you would have never guessed $50K for the R3. $35K would be a more educated guess. A fully-loaded R3X, tri-motor may max out around $55K. Also, RJ already told us the R2/R3/R3X will come in single, dual and tri-motor configurations. I just don’t understand walking blind into doing coverage of a highly-anticipated vehicle like this, offering a first look with no real knowledge of it, when this is a niche with very devoted enthusiasts, craving more in-depth information. For those who are seeing the R3 for the first time, it would leave them with a lot of unanswered questions and inaccurate conjecture.
The same goofy looking face 👎
That rear end lighting won’t pass US safety specs. Reminds me of an ‘87 Golf.
Great man! Been eying that rock since I was a boy. Thanks for the tips.
Ski hatch. Yes!
If AMC had survived long enough to create an EV it would have looked like this. I like it!
It is very European in execution and appeal but looks designed for American light trails. My take is that I don't think it has gearing or differentials for harsher surfaces. I could be wrong. It does remind me of a much nicer American Eagle of yore.
Body is reminiscent of the Yugo!
Liked the review. R3 looks nice but the prices you were throwing around left me cold. Need cheaper EVs.
They were completely off, not having done any research or even watched RJ Saringe’s launch event. The R2 has a base price of $45K, so speculation is the R3 will start around $35K.
@@toddbroeker8683 Kia will have the EV3 in the 30's. This will make Rivian's price seem very high.
Why would they put a nacs charger on that side ??
This is a preproduction model, designed before the NACS was confirmed. The port will be changed on the production version.
No one ever knew. At least one designer must be looking for work right now. Probably in the UK some place. It will be on the proper location on the production model. Just like all other manufacturers are doing.
The Rivian R3 looks like a cross between the Ford Pinto and the Tesla Model Y.
Why is the NACS charging port on the "wrong" side?
Both the R2 and R3 we designed with European street charging in mind. However, they have since stated, with the backlash after their introductions in March, they will move the NACS ports to the other side, to work better with Tesla’s network.
@@toddbroeker8683 Correct. Just as almost all other manufacturers, Rivian has confirmed that they are moving the port to the correct location. Just about every person out there pointed out that people park on both the left and right sides on most residential streets. The idiotic location was soon corrected on their plans.
Love it. Hopefully Rivian survives long enough for it to go to market
VW has invested $5 Billion in Rivian, so I think they’re here to stay.
@@toddbroeker8683 have you seen the state of VW? They're breaking labor agreements so they can close factories. I was at the Miami Auto Show last weekend. It was the last weekend of the event. I was talking to a Stellantis rep about the trouble they're in. He said everyone is in trouble and pointed to VW saying mid week their HQ told them to pack everything up and leave the show. VW is about to be a very different animal with their sales plummeting in China
5m is nothing unfortunately, but 5bi then yes lol,@@toddbroeker8683
@@toddbroeker86835M 😂. Tesla is 728 B
@@toddbroeker8683 It's $5B. Why do you keep saying $5M? 5 million is pocket change in today's world lol.
Waiting for reservations open. I'm getting that tri motor X
Why would you display a new model vehicle and have it blocked off by stanchions?
It's on the wrong side so it could use two Tesla stalls to charge.
Because it’s a prototype and they’re limiting the amount of people getting their grubby paws all over it at events where they don’t have actual Rivian reps. They’ve been allowing people to check it out more at their Rivian Experience centers around the country.
looks like the kia EV3
The size seems similar, but this is a much cleaner and sleeker design.
@@jamespaul2587 Its in the eye of the beholder the EV3 has a really nice interior and great range. I think if it is released in the US, for the price the Kia will sell well
I had always assumed the "Dyson Fan" headlights were not towed out but rather they were on the same flat plane but I was wrong. I love the rivian design overall but I would like to see the headlights get tucked backwards in the fascia so they're .25" below the neighboring surface.
Looks like rather a failed copy of the Ioniq 5 concept.
This is a more efficiently sized, sleeker, and more attractive alternative to the Ioniq5
@@jamespaul2587 Except that the Ioniq 5 actually exists lol. This will never reach production.
@LynnEdwards-sl7jd that's definitely possible/likely at this point, however hopefully Rivian survives, and this is produced
They're going to go bankrupt before hitting critical mass of (profitable) sales.
Compared to Polestar or Volvo the styling is very boxey! Maybe thats a thing in the US?
Similar to Lancia Delta Integrale which is VERY European
@@cbarber5366 We'd all love a Lancia (and a Motor Mechanic) to go with it!
80s era VW Golf as well. Very cool.
Boxy styling allows for greater passenger and cargo space.
Absolutely. Check out the new Kia EV3. Lots of space in a small package.
Dodge Omni Resurrected
I was actually there when you guys did this walk around. 6:20 It was so cool to see it in person. Definitely wish the R2 was able to make it out but hopefully next time!
Really want one.....But have to believe that Rivian will stay in business first...............Paul
You don't need to sign your name after a comment. Your username is already attached to it.
Best design in a long time, can't wait to see it on the streets. Hopefully this comes to Europe at some point.
This is a sub 45k vehicle. Prices haven’t been released yet but considering that the R2 as they claim will start at 45k we might be looking at 35-40k starting for this one which is incredible
Absolutely . The R3X will probably be 55 to 60k trimotor rally beast
Hello Whole Nuts And Donuts I congratulate you on climbing the Matterhorn in my home region of Valais. Thank you for the wonderful film. It brings back many unforgettable memories. I wish you wonderful mountain tours. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Do you mean you live in the USA, Georgia, Athens? Why not start by saying you live in the USA? So many Americans do this.
Just climbed it Friday 23rd Aug. Epic and tiring day. 3 sadly died the week before and I can see why. I was pelted by rock in the upper section above Solvay hut. Beautiful video and all the best
Dp you remember what is the distance from bottom to the summit and the altitude difference?
@@nikosbakas957 that’s a bit relative to where you count starting. Do you mean in Zermatt or at the hornli but which is already at about 3000 meters? If the latter it’s just the peak minus the exact altitude of the hornli hut will give you the correct answer :)
@@wholenutsanddonuts5741 from the point at 20:00 in the video where the first ropes are. Thanks!
I absolutely loved this video. Not a climber , but Still watching climbing videos gives much needed thrill. You have good memory to have retain all those details about the climb. Ofcorse the scariest part was the ridge walk to the summit. There are taller but cheaper mountains available too
@@KarakorumDiary thank you so much! Yes there are cheaper mountains to climb but this one is so iconic I really wanted to be sure I did it.
@@wholenutsanddonuts5741 I totally agree especially the emotional value attached to it. Back in 2000's there was documentary released in iMax in which a man when to climb eiger to settle the score with it, perhaps his father passed award climbing it when he was a kid. And I did not mean as an alternative to that when I suggested cheaper mountains, but for future. Like Andes or Himalayas.
I cannot in good conscience like nor subscribe because anyone can post up photos but saw little to no interaction just a bunch of photos and letters across the video
What a great video.
If you think the Matterhorn is expensive, don't ever try to climb Everest. That's expensive. Easily 50,000 or more.
If everything was expensive 5 years ago, I can't imagine what the prices look like now, omg
Yeah I know it’s pretty outrageous.
hey john - great your dad is up there. What have you climbed since?
Just out of curiosity, is this roughly the same route that the first ascent did in 1865? Also, how much more difficult would it have been without the climbing ropes that are set up on the mountain? I've watched some docs on the first ascent and I'm curious about how much harder it would have been then compared to now? Anyway, awesome video!
Thanks! Yes it’s more or less the original route. As for climbing without ropes it wouldn’t be that bad-only you’d have to pitch out the climb with your own ropes (for safety) so it would definitely be a two day rather than one day climb unless you’re a very high level climber.
This is such a beautiful and useful video! Previously I have only found ones that made it look like a piece of cake, and even if it was with commentary, it commented on difficulties that came up at their level of climbing, which was difficult for me to ascertain. Now, after your much more specific descriptions placing this climb into context for me, it is pretty clear to me I'm nowhere near the shape I need to be to attempt this climb - and that it is really about the shape first, fear of heights second (I, to my knowledge, don't have a fear of heights, but I haven't been on such exposed terrain yet, so I also need to test that before attempting the Matterhorn). Regardless, I am in love with this mountain and want to climb it one day, when I will be suited for it! So please allow me a question: how much time did it take for you to ascend vs to descend? Not so that I can decide I can do it in the same amount of time, but to see the ascent-to-descent ratio I should be expecting - perhaps!
Awesome! Well done 👏
Nice but it's not the real summit ...
Thank you for this movie! It's very helpful, while I"m preparing for climb this Horn of the Mother this summer. Greetings from Poland
If your climbing the Matherhorn in summer what shape of Ice Axe you do use?
You’ll want to get a standard type but much shorter than you would normally use. The slope is very severe!
