Eggcellent. Krumpin’ time
Eggcellent breakdown thanks for taking the time
Timing couldn't be better. Getting my first set of models this week and am still trying to wrap my head around everything. This so far has been the most clear and informative video breaking down all the options. Love the mouse (rat?) character by the way.
This is a quality guide! Thank you for making it. I’d love a guide for the Scout Squad too
I really enjoy the strategy of the team. They are a simple stat check team and they require some practice and finesse to be good with. Feels like some of the equipment and ploys needs slight upgrades. Wish they had a stim or heal option somewhere outside of the Helix. I just cant see where he fits in? I have 3 plays ive enjoyed: 1. The Sab is probably the hardest piece to use effectively. I like to hide him (cover or smoke) then use my counteract as close to the end of the TP as possible to move 2" to get that Detonator in place. Then use Omni Scramble to pin eneemy operatives (if i dont win initiative) plant, free Dash, detonate, smoke. Sometimes ill even Dash to get in position knowing ill get hit too. If you get lucky you may miss one. Good saves and Transhuman Physiology and you could kill 2-3 (or one really important) enemy operative and survive. 2. If i get an operative in a good shooting position I'll play Deadly Shots and proc Special Issue ammo to get 3 P1 shots in a TP with Counteract. 3. Maybe the best is Charging up and over buildings. Opponents think they are safe behind walls and you just climb for 2", run across Vantage, drop for free and fight. Once i caught and opponent with two operatives behind a building. I went up and over fought twice and killed both with my Riever Sgt then killed another on a shooting Counteract. I always take 4 Smokes, Dont be afraid to give initiative and use Omni-Scramble. Save some CP for Critical Shot and Stealth Assault to get those gotta have it kills. I find And They Shall Know No Fear the most useful Strat Ploy. Id love to see equipment that added 1" to Dash and Charge moves. Great video. I subbed.
Kommandos were my first KT back when i was first getting into 40k. Now im 3 armies in and mostly play Drukhari but the new mandrakes also made want to bust these guys out again. Great video, hope you cover more units
Love the Kommandos, and I’m actually currently playing Mandrakes at the world championship at this time of writing! Expect a video on them in the near future too 👍
Comment for the comment gods
This channel has been great for the KT community I hope there would be KT24 bat reps soon I am looking really forward to following this channel.
I'm a pretty new player, I'm running Phobos in a Volkus League. My auto takes are Marksman, Voxbreaker and Comms, Omni scramble feels very powerful + I think being able to shift back to Guerilla Warfare for 0CP is very good + a 50/50 chance at an extra CP every turn. Then I flex in the 2 x warrior + Sergeant of choice, usually Incursors on Volkus for the saturate and ignore obscuring. Vanguard on the Warriors makes Tac Ops like Plant Beacon very viable.
I'm loving Reiver warriors with knives
Ty!
Good breakdown, although I'd disagree on the Incursor sergeant operative being the weakest of the three. Turning off both obscuring AND retained cover saves can be extremely strong with the heavy terrain centric maps. This can be extremely huge with how gamey the current version of kill team is, which can allow for both to be active on the same unit at the same time. If Incursors can see you, other than the marksman, they only really care if you're concealed behind heavy cover.
I definitely see this angle. I’ve just personally found that on boards like Volkus all my targets are benefitting from heavy cover because the board is so dense with heavy terrain. If the boards were more open I’d have to deal with obscuring a lot more and would want the incursor sergeant!
Just put these guys together and played my first game pf kill team. Lots of fun and this really helps explain the rules
Love to hear it! Welcome aboard!
Great guide! Any chance of more, maybe Aquilons and Stingwings from Hivestorm?
Once I get my Vespid painted up they’ll get a guide on the channel for sure!
🎉 thank you. Subbed
Thanks for the fantastic run down!! I've only played 1 game so far and have been actively looking for more videos for KT24 Phobos. Let's see a battle report!
I love the Phobos Strike Team, mostly for their armour. Space Marines without bell bottoms? Sign me up
HUN COME QUICK THE RAT IS TALKING ABOUT GUNS AGAIN
This is awesome. Picked up the Kommandos as my first (and only) Kill Team, then the rules updated, and I'm still painting my awesome Deathskull Looters. Great vid for me as I continue to work on them. Hoping to get some games in before the Tankbustas drop.
That's a cool gameboard
The addition of heavy to everything for the Snipa hurt it too much. I've been having a hard time trying to use it on my games, sadly. Any tips on how to use him best? Or should i just field another boy in his place?
Painting my boyz purple
Always painted mine red faster that way
Thanks, this is a very good video as Kommandos are now much more tricky to play with the reduced damage output in KT24. What are your equipment choices of preference apart from the obvious Krak grenades as these are the only AP weapon available? Also what tips do you have for using command point?
Apologies I wrote the equipment question before reaching the end of the video. 🤦♂️
I’ve tried harpoons too, which felt decent as a little bit more ranged damage, but those can be situational to the board and mission. Collapsible stocks also can feel okay, but it’s hard to sell taking an equipment piece that only really affects 2 operatives. It’s okay if you really don’t have anything else to take? Choppas are currently an unplayable equipment choice, so unless they go to 4 attacks don’t ever take them! Also, don’t underestimate the power of smoke grenades! Against some teams it makes it very hard for them to whittle you down.
I used to love the Kommandos as they were a fun random team that could hit quite hard in combat or shooting, but in KT24 they are heavily nerfed. No AP and not enough dice in combat means they are crushed by elites as they cannot do enough damage against 3+ save teams and cannot win in combat vs opponents with 4 or 5 dice such as angels of death when your buys have 3 to 4 dice. The squig is just junk now, it always was a challenge to use but posed a solid nuisance but now the blast is so pathetic it is just pointless. They may still be ok against some horde teams.
Love the guide, but I think the visuals ques (circles and lines) cam be slowed down a bit. They seemed a bit strobe-y at current speed.
Excellent tutorial, definitely earned a sub!
I feel like a lot if this deployment guide can be used for Navy Breachers too. What do you think?
I don’t have any experience playing as the breachers, but a lot of the concepts here can apply as a general strategy for teams of similar size!
Very useful video for me as a new Kommandos player! so thx. I´d like to see a similar on hearthkyn salvagers and / or Corsairs ;)
First deployment prefered, thanks!
I love Kommandos, so thanks for the video!
Nice! Subbed! Will you be taking Kommandos to the worlds? Interesting on the equipment! Been loving the collapsible stocks and harpoon over the krak and dynamite. Increased range on the dakka boy and comms shokka has been great.
I’m not sure if I will take them to worlds; I think they have a hard time against most elite teams. I’ve tried the harpoon and stocks, but didn’t love spending an equipment option to only sort of affect 2 operatives. I have spiked with the shokka pistol, though, which feels awesome when it happens!
I need to know what you used for those vines and flowers they look amazing!
Great stuff!
Great video! Subscribed, and i dont even play kill team. Really good analysis and explanations.
This is really good, subbed. Planning more KT stuff?
More faction guides will be on their way!
Awesome video deployment has always been the most difficult aspect of this game and the way you explained this also helps even if you're not playing kommandos.
Awesome!
This was excellent! Thanks for the video
I'd like to see you cover kasrkin
🎉
Nice overview! Really helped me decide which specialists to take.
All of them
@faiir that's not really what the video said
Great overview! LOVE Orks so any insight to help them krump is great
great video man!
Yeeees!!
I’ve had my Ork Kommandos on the sprue since 2022. Just built them and was wondering exactly this! Ohh if you’re taking requests I also bought a Hernkyn Yaegir kill team to build. Hoping they’re somewhat in the same level. Trying to get my cousins to play with me.
Thank you for this!
Great video, Kommandos were my first team in KT21, going to try them out this weekend in KT24 so thanks for the tips!
Bad moons fan boi but blood axe minis are zoggin great
Great content. Thanks for the info
Great video! I would really like to see one going into chaos cult, since they got some hefty nerfs this edition
they gotta keep this team for the new edition through 2027
