diff bushings are stuffed again after 60 000km. SP however are honoring the life time warranty and sent me new bushings. They mention only 3 warrantys have been request for these bushings. Separation and cracking. Mine did both. I will be trying oem ones again in the meantime. I will be replacing the front mounts as well with nolathane. Update to come.

Was it just me or do you all also hear a noise came from Cat or something like goose or kangaroo... Disclaimer no animal were harmed during the execution of the task
Long time ago so maybe you won’t remember, but when you did that SAS delete with the Alu plate, it looks like you retained the oil separator. Did you run the crankcase breather up to the oil separator, and then run a hose from the separator to the airbox (it looks like the hose from separator to airbox is the smaller hose that’s on a swivel spigot on the separator)? . If that’s the case did you blank off the other spigot on the oil separator? I’m probably not being clear, but the oil separator has two large hoses, and a small hose that you ran to the airbox. I assume you only used one of the large hoses to the separator and blanked off the other large one? Reason I ask is my bike has the same setup, and I’m removing the SAS and fitting the same Alu plate, but I have no instructions.
@@ronanrogers4127 it's been a while. Sold the bike a long time ago. From memory I kept the breather from the crank. I bought a small air filter to put on the hose. The airbox was blanked off to all crank/head breathers. What year is your 690. 08 and 09 were different to later years
@@sirjolly81thanks for the reply. Mine’s a 2011, last year of Gen 1. I just noticed in the video that the oil separator seems to still be there and there is at least one hose visible, so I wondered how it was plumbed.
just saved me 6 hours of heartache changing these out. thanks mate
no worries. I just did it again. Pretty easy job the 2nd time round :P Superpro rear bushes failed after 60k. Gone back to genuine rear and Nolathane on the front.
@@sirjolly81 yeah i just sent the superpro back and ordered genuine. not a job i want to conduct twice 😅
Merci
Did that end up fixing it?
@@aaronlanghorn3334 sure did. Buut I had to get it shimmed to hold higher rail pressure. I've since had another tune done and the previous tune pressure was way to high. And very rich.
The egg wont accept a weak sperm.
this does not show the actual lift installation nor the strut.
Its okay. I cant change it now mate. You get the idea and if you cant do it other videos show how to dissemble a strut. Its good to figure some things out yourself.
You posted an update video and turned off the comments. It looks like you kept the stock bushings on the diff itself on. Why didn't you replace those? I wonder if that caused more wear on the subframe diff bushings.
Sorry didn't realise I turned the comments off. I didn't replace them because I couldn't find a part number.
@@sirjolly81 I'm in the process of swapping the whiteline poly subframe bushings and I'm having that exact same problem. So far I've tracked down 2 different part numbers which are 55476-ar002 and nab-209. I believe the nab is the febest part number and the other is the official part number. Not 100% sure though since I haven't received mine yet and the dealership doesn't even have a part number for them.
Did you use thread sealant to fit, what type if used?
TOO not TO
Thanks for sharing. Great work 👍🏻
I'm 99% sure you instaled wrong the bushing
Please explain? I corrected the pin in the wrong way. I've been driving on this lift for 70k and everything is fine. No uneven wear
@@sirjolly81 it looks that you mounted in such a way that the upper part of the whells are pushed even more outside of the car, so the wheels will not touch the ground at ~90°🤔
Where did you buy the bushings
Who ever has the parts cheapest. Also I should add in the video superpro bushings are crap. Already split after 40k. I have some OEM to put back in soon.
@@sirjolly81Are you going to put new bushings on the diff itself? I don't understand why everyone who is swapping the subframe bushings is avoiding replacing the ones on the diff.
louee is the name
Hey. How many low gears got the manual pathy?
6 speed manual.
Hi mate, I’ve just done this and now my front wheels won’t spin freely when in the air. Won’t move at all. Did you have any issues with your CV’s when you did this?
No nothing wrong with mine. Is the brake dragging, bad bearings or a cv is bad.
Rail sensor is $50 on ebay
Tried cheap eBay parts before. Not worth it.
Any updates on this? I have similar issues with my 2011 D40, limp mode and fuel leak on my OBD reader. swapped out SCV with no fix, not many others have had this issues but you are the first i've seen of it. how did you get on?
Hi. Yes it half fixed my issue. I still had leaks but after the shop shimmed the valve to hold more rail pressure it's been fine. The fuel filter can also be a spot for air to get in.
Hi how many klms and hrs on your bike and have you had any issues with it looking at the fe450 or 570 as my next bike cheers
So my bike is a 2010 with about 200hrs and 5500km. I dont use any oil and she runs great. Common issues are fuel pumps and cam chain tensioners, i replaced with kemso pump and new filter 3 years ago. Dirt tricks or a manual tensioner are great. I run fuel cleaner every other tank as well. as they are a ktm most parts are still available. These bikes are fantastic. good powwer, great ergos and ground clearance. only other issues are wear and tear items. clutch slave seals, counter sprocket seals etc. My mates 09 berg 450 with same kms and hours is also perfect. I do all the work on both. both had valves adjusted about 3 years ago and not moved since. Join a fb group and see how happy we all are. But some bikes will always have issues in any make or model.
where do you get your parts from for your bike?
for me in Australia any ktm/husky dealership. R&D in penrith were my go to. I no longer own the bike. I never had to order any important bits. wear parts are common with ktm.
just bought a 2013 husky tc 250 was wondering what your suspension settings were?
I no longer have the bike. I would have it setup on the softer settings for bush riding. it was okay but still stiff compared to my other bikes. It certainly was fun on a track.
@@sirjolly81 shame lol
I have a 2011 R51, and I can see the value in a lift like this because the belly on mine is always scraping over stumps, rocks and anthills, even on 'good' bush roads. Would the axles be OK with the strain of bigger wheels or is this not too extreme a lift?
a 2" lift is the easiest. Depending on your location in the world you can do a body lift and much larger tyres 33 - 35". The R51 drive train is relatively strong. if you havent already get some decent bash guards. Especially for the sump. Saved me a few times.
@@sirjolly81 based in Zambia, where the Pathfinders are rare import from South Africa so spares have been a nightmare, had to ship Pedder's control arms for the rear all the way from Aus, only to see now that the diff isolator bushes are done too (also a great video by the way!). Have a new bash plate from sump all the way to the back of the transfer case, and this has helped a lot to get a feel when it starts tickling that there might be trouble from what we call a high 'middle man' of a bush track! Question about the bushes in the upper control arms that are off-centre: did I understand that these are specially designed like that to help extend the length of the arm somewhat, and the stock ones are symmetrical? Or did I miss something?
this is my backyard growing up been in the Lithgow area for over 40 years its a shame deep pass is closed off that was an evil hill for 4wd`s that and MT walker😀
I found it easier to put a crowbar/jimmy bar up the centre of the cross member and use a bottle jack and sleeper to get it out. - I did try this method and yes it worked..
Great idea.
What is chain above holding? Np safety glasses either
the chain is for a spare tyre, Tied up for the video. No safety glasses - The temp is 40°C and fog up instantly also it was clean enough not to be an issue.
Hey man , I'm about to install the same dampner on my d22 tomorrow, I noticed that you have marked on the shock ? I'm assuming done this so it's not over stretched or forced to far in? What's the best way to go about this please ? Thanks heaps mate
I marked the middle, top and bottom of the stroke. Helps adjust it a bit quicker. we don't want the dampener to stop, impede steering angle and also let me see where my steering was in relation to the dampener.
Thanks heaps mate
did it work or still having limp mode?
The issue kept happening. The shop said I was correct with the valve. They removed it again and shimmed it to hold more pressure.
@@sirjolly81 how to shimm to hold more presure?

I tried the pry method. Did not work. Had to use sledge hammer. Gravity and the hammer had it come out. Good video. Thanks.
Thank you for watching. Whatever works in the end to get it done.
Do you have the part numbers for the superpro bushes?
Check superpro website. Pretty straight forward.
Hi mate. I fit them yesterday by following your video clip. The superpro bushes looks a bit bigger than the original bushes in diameter. Is it correct? Although i spray much wd40 silicon for lubrication, they are still very tight to be fitted. 2nd thing is that my anti-roll bar's bolts was very hard to be removed, i can only unbolted them half way. Do i need to let the car stand by rear wheel for the bar to be unstressed ? Thanks
The bolts are rusted. Mine are the same last time I removed them. The bushings are a press fit. Hence why I got the correct tool to pull them into the frame. It was a tough job. Also I used a wire wheel to remove any surface corrosion. The bushings on mine stick out about 2mm further then stock.
@@sirjolly81 yes, it was a tough job yesterday. Mine is the same, it is about 2-3mm futher than the stock. I fitted it without removing the anti roll bar. I just unbolted it a bit to have more space for the diff to be lifted up. I scared that the thread of the bolts for the anti roll bar would be broken if i kept unbolted completely
Hi mate. How to rotate the prop shaft to unbolted all the bolts? Thanks
I jacked up one wheel and turned it. Handbrake off and out of gear
@@sirjolly81 a guy said that he can replace the bushes without dropping the rear diff. I don't know how he did. th-cam.com/video/OMaDuEn2rmQ/w-d-xo.html
Hello, Before changing the bushings, did you have strong vibrations in the body? Thanks
No vibrating in my car. You may need to check tyre balance, alignment, Worn out suspension bushings, engine mounts, transmission mount or bad wheel bearing. A lot of things to look at. All my diff bushings still had rubber so didn't cause knocking or vibrating. Metal on metal would be very noticeable. Also don't forget to check cvs for play.

Hello, a question, I'm about to install a 2-inch nissan pathfinder 2005 ranch kit. The question is if I need to install bushing
It is recommended to install front adjustable upper control arms and rear camber adjust uca bushes. But plenty of people don't but are adjusted to max after an alignment. Talk to the tyre shop and see how they go with settings.
Thank you
@@sirjolly81 replacing the UCA is recommended if you want your steering lighter. 2nd thing. If you fit bigger tyres like 32", 33". You need new front UCA and rear upper uca bushes for alignment. If you don't change bigger tyres, its still fine.
Gj I also just bought a r51 project. I maybe doing this one day. Thanks
Cheers for sharing mate.. mine are looking same way and in need of swapping out. Might do control arms at same time stiffen it all back up again.
Im happy with the superpro control arm bushings. I did upper bushings and upper ball joints. Also the rear spring carrier bushing with superpro. I also wrapped the bushing sleeve in Teflon tape to help reduce squeaking as they get worn. Thanks for watching.
p
really great video thank you for sharing, I guest my next project is now to check my diff bushings.
What are the torque specs for all the bolts?
No idea. just do them up tight and use blue locktight. The transmission box bolts are the only ones you should be careful of, so no long breaker bars.
how did the power feel on it and did you like the bike?
The power was good in the high rpm. The suspension is stiff and decent for motocross. To stiff for Enduro and throttle to snappy for tight trail. It's a bitch to start sometimes.
@@sirjolly81 ok thanks man its a sick looking bike
super
Great video. Did you have a knocking effect or vibrations travelling into the frame before replacing it? I'm suspecting bushes gone on mine
No knocking as it still had rubber. But you can feel the slack/movement when on, off throttle. It's not serious unless all the rubber is gone. Just have a good look. Also engine mounts are a common failure on Nissan r51 and d40. Just replaced mine aswell. Easy job.
