Én tisztított vízzel locsolom őket, de szeretnék nekik adni évente egyszer kálciumos vizet ,amit tojáshéjból készítek , házilag csinálom a tápokat, azért ..

    New to your channel. I have had violets since I was a little girl. My grandmother got me started with them. I was always told never to get water on the leaves so I never knew about disinfecting them like that. I would have thought that would have killed them with the water on them. I am glad to have seen this. I love to learn knew things about my violets. Thank you for this info.

    I have thrips on some of my AV's, and wondering if you would recommend submerging an entire plant in bleach/vinegar water for getting rid of the little buggers? Thank you 😊 I might do an experiment on one of my not-so-precious AV's

    • @myvioletlifetv

      Hi there! Instead of vinegar, try a solution of 2 teaspoons of dish soap in a gallon of water. If you’re not adverse to insecticides, you can also try Avid. Keep up with the spray about every 5 to 7 days for about four weeks. If the affected plant is in the middle of your other AVs, spray them too because they might just migrate another plant. You’ll also want to immediately take off all the flowers and flower buds from you affected plants. Thrips feed in pollen sacs on your plants, so by getting rid of the flowers, you’re starving them of their food source. You’ll probably want to keep the plant disbudded for a few weeks to a couple months to make sure all of the adult thrips and baby ones are gone. They can be persistent little buggers. Good luck!

      I’m glad you found the video useful! I think it’s because in order to bloom african violets like to be fertilized frequently. As a result there tends to be fertilizer byproducts built up the soil over time.
