    When I used to play with VW's you could get a simple little electric (12V) fuel pump that could mount just about anywhere safe. It has a fuel line inlet on one side and outlet on the other. Perfect for when someone would change the factory fuel injection to carbs. Provides 3.5 psi and I used it with 2 2 bbl Webers and always had fuel pressure. You can use a 6-12V inverter if you are running 6 volts.

    Why would you put a Holly carb on a Model A? Was it designed for a long stroke engine that runs at low RPM?

    • @ModelAForAday
      @ModelAForAday 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question, I bought the car like that. Running the Holley 94 does have some advantages over the original zenith updraft carb. One advantage is that you don’t have to mess with a fuel adjusting valve on start up. Another one is that the needle and seat seal way better. Also it has a power valve and accelerator pump for better economical operation and better throttle response. I don’t think carbs care about what the stroke of the engine is. It’s all about how much CFM of air is moving through the Venturi of the carb. This carb was originally intended for the small flathead V8. But with a fuel pump it seems to respond pretty well on a model a four banger. Thanks watching!

    One of the simple speed parts from the early days of hot rodding was to have a pressurized fuel tank with a small hand pump. When the driver wanted to go fast they would pump the the air pressure in the fuel tank before making a “speed” run. With proper tuning and fuel pressure you should easily be able to cut your 0-60 times to ~ 30 seconds.

    They did not really change the Model A from late '30 to early '31. The new '31 models were the deluxe slant window types introduced to attract Depression buyers who could not afford a higher priced car. These models were not available until about mid '31. All the late '30 types carried over into early '31 or longer. Ford did not stop using the stock of old parts & a fresh new model each year was not the usual until later into the decade. The '31 radiator shell did not become used exclusively until after March in USA ; it was a cost cutting method as less s/s used & easier to make than the '30 s/s one. The later dash/tank, & one piece valance were introduced in late '30. The true indicator of a '31 model is the ' indented ' firewall with the fuel tap on it & this appeared about May 1931! Keep up the good work with your videos. Cheers.
