85-year-old Edward tries Enchroma glasses for the first time
At age 18, a diagnosis of colour-blindness dashed Edward's hopes of being an RAF pilot. At 85, he sees colours he has never seen before, thanks to Enchroma. 'It's like reading Shakespeare after Robinson Crusoe', he says.

Rest in peace Edward 😌
❤
What a precious gift, especially at 85!!! :-)
His comments were a hoot! Man, I feel like an uncultured swine now. 😂😂
My father is gone now, but I wished that I knew about these glasses when he was alive so I could have surprised him. 😞
What a gorgeous accent. So wonderful that these exist.
I'm happy for him....... my first son is 26 years old now, yet he's still in color blind state........
I'm so glad that Edward got to experience seeing color in his lifetime! I enjoyed the video very much.
85 year old man explains it best haha a very smart and eloquent gentleman. "I suppose the equivalent of reading Shakespeare after Robinson Crusoe." I laughed pretty hard . . . I'm stealing that line.
BranNewUser2009 is my account--this week, Edward died at the age of 90. He lived a full and happy life and I am honoured to call him my friend. I will miss him.
:(
I want to speak like that. It’s absolute poetry.
I'm pretty sure I watched every one of these videos on TH-cam and this guy does the best job explaining it nicely done sir
What a nice articulate man!!Real pleasure to meet you, well sort of! Enjoy it sir!!
Where do you live? Like the accent =). Somewhere in England, I guess.
Edward was born in North London in 1930.
What a proper lad. Such a charming gent.
If you're one to believe in heaven, just imagine the colors that will possibly be revealed that don't even exist in this dimension.
Watching from Dallas, Texas,,,he has the brightest natural eye color! Loving this video.
I'm in my sixties and just learned that I was born with prosopagnosia (face blindness). For all these years I believed that I was deficient in personality to be unable to discern people like everyone else could. It is life altering to know the cause.
So moved by his eloquence but even more than that, that of which he didn’t speak, the wonder of it all. Beautiful. From Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
How wonderful he could see color . God bless your family. I would sit outside for the rest of my life. I hope his food looks more appetizing !
It is like reading Shakespeare after Robinson Crusoe. Beautiful.
My goodness are you both just adorable
Living next to a motorway brings you down just a little my dear,
Busy road but no motorway...
So happy for him...
You can take the air force from the man BUT !...you can't take the air force out of the man . Glad your spec's work for you and now you can buy a lot of different types of coloured flowers .
Wonderful!!! Like reading Shakespeare after Robinson Crusoe... hehehe.... Equivalent to American saying "Like watching The Grapes of Wrath after watching the Kardashians..."
That was Over My Head. I think he said that they work!
Lovely video and family.
After watching literally ALL the encroma TH-cam videos and done some research, the older you are the more likely the glasses will just be used infrequently as a tool. The older the brain is, the less likely it will adapt to a whole new physical understanding of the world around itself. So kids that get these glasses are more likely to wear them.
Nigel seems impressed !
Wasted Money... he was 85 as this Video was recorded... now he "maybe" is 88 or already "dead"... in all of these cases he not can see anything anymore...
He will be 90 on Sunday June 28 2020 and he's still able to see and walk!
Edward lived to the ripe old age of 90 and a half and got great use out of them. They will be given to someone else now, so no money wasted.
He even chuckles with a British accent lol Love it.
U made his latter years young again in discovery of the world
He's turning 90 at the end of this month
I didn’t know there were so many color blind people.
He is such a gentleman
Fascinating. :)
He's so adorable lol
I want to put this guy in my pocket and take him home with me
It's never too late to experience something new. He seems to be a lovely man - so glad he got to see how wonderful colours can be.
I love these two people. Nice how the woman gives the man space to explore.
What a distinguished man. I just adore the way he explained what he was seeing after all these years. Very moving!
Such a distinguished gentleman. I couldn't be happier for him. A lovely man.
Sweet 💝
Thanks for uploading this, it's priceless ...and not a vertical bloody video :-) (thumbs up)
Did he just say "Yes indeedy"? :-)
What a fantastic comparison: reading Shakespeare after Robinson Crusoe! 😅
With all those Enchroma videos around, we only needed one elderly brit to have the proper vocabulary to express the differences. The rest are just ignorant of their own language, which isn't my native one btw. Well done sir, well done.
Can we all just admire the man for being 85 and not walking around like an old person? I bet he could still run if he wanted to.
You're never too old for... colours!
Edward and I went out with his glasses last week and he was able to see purple for the first time. He had no name for it!
This was a nice video. Is Edward still alive today?
@@LBart218 He died Jan. 2021
@@kamillaelliott8388 I'm sorry for your loss. ❤
