The writing on a stone was in Romanian language, but in Cyrillic. So it is not a Soviet's invention, if you know Romanian and Russian, like Catalina probably does, it is easy to read. If you visit old churches in Romania or the historical museum in Chisinau, you will also see Cyrillic letters there. Which shouldn't be a surprise, because with the spread of orthodox religion from Bulgaria the alphabet also spread. You write and say that it is absurd how a Romance language is not a Latin script. But if you look from a religious perspective, things are the opposite: Romania and now Moldova are the only orthodox countries with a Latin alphabet

There's an exactly same bread in Azerbaijan, and suprise😂, the name is also same, it is called "kərpiç çörəyi" [kaərpich choraeye] , kərpiç is brick, çörək is bread in Azerbaijani language.

Everything's OK as long as you're strong and young. I wouldn't be able to live in such a middle of nowhere, even at the age of 30. No shops - either food or industrial, no medical help, no pharmacy. Ok, you can install a satellite dish, but what about mobile phone connectivity? Because I doubt there's any coverage in this middle of nowhere. What about the Internet? only via satellite, probably, and these are huge costs. It's nice to go there on holiday to rest from civilization, but for a long time or permanently it's a nightmare. What about the water? what about heating? what about electricity or gas? Ok, we can dig a well, install solar panels or a windmill and we have water and electricity. Gas can also be stored in cylinders or in a large liquid gas tank. Nevertheless, life in such a wasteland, especially in winter, is unacceptable.

Just until not so long ago, perhaps until the late 90s, moldovan weddings were really authentic, beautiful, full of traditions. Nowadays it's just business, showing off and making money, nobody cares about traditions or authenticity, it's just about inviting as many people as possible which have as much money as possible.

It is such a shame locals having to suffer from all the pollution caused by trucks and making the nearby lands their place to do the physiological needs. I am born and bread in Giurgiulesti and never seen my Village in this massive grey cloud of dust. Children cannot walk freely and local drivers are always at risk of car accidents because there are no gaps between trucks to use both sides of the road. I wish the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Foreign Affairs could solve this problem and create conditions for trucks to stop, free up the main road of the village and let locals live their lives in peace. 🙏

The Principality of Moldova was split in half in 1812 by Russia, most of the eastern half became the R.Moldova in 1991 and the western half formed Romania together with Wallachia in 1859 and is part of Romania ever since.
