As a young child, I recalled thinking sizzler was the epitome of luxury dining. Somewhere around 12, I remember noticing how grungy everything looked & how unimpressive the food seemed. I don’t think we ever went back. I still don’t know if it was the inevitable corporate cost cutting or my own loss of innocence but someway, somehow, the magic had died. Ditto red lobster.

I once got kicked out of Sizzler for eating too much all you can eat shrimp. Malibu Chicken is also absolute FIRE

I grew up in Los Angeles and used to go to this exact Sizzler. I actually wasn't crazy about it. If I ever visit LA, I will want to see the building agaIn, however. I understand the restaurant has closed permanently.

Man we grew up going to that Sizzler's on Vermont... since the 70s. So sad it's gone now. In those days the garlic bread was the shit.

It's thanks to this episode that I realized Bourdaine was full of shit.

I love sizzler. When I graduated high school, my uncle treated me to Sizzler. For a food loving high school graduate, that was heaven. Steak, all you can eat shrimp, and salad bar (dessert bar included). Heaven. My brother in law is Korean, and they have a thing for buffet.
