I thought D is correct but a program like STAAD gives completely different results to the choices shown here
Maybe the following is easier. If you remove the right-hand support, then clearly, that point will move to the left. Therefore, the horizontal reaction at the roller support must be to the right. Horizontal equilibrium means the horizontal reaction at the fixed end must be to the left. Vertical equilibrium means no vertical reaction at the fixed support. Sum of moments about the fixed support means the moment reaction must be anticlockwise since the only force causing moment is the applied load. All reactions are found with certainty. Start drawing the BMD from the right support you will get case D.
While B is more probable there is now we can prove that C is impossible, I think. However, as a structural engineer, and an academic, I see a more serious 'mistake'. The load cannot be applied directly to the hinge. While this does not affect the behaviour of the frame it just does not look 'right'.

D if you take a section b/n roller support and mid point there would be no force to create any moment when considering the left side.
Great video. I have come across a similar question with a singular UDL across the whole arch, hinges at quarter, half and three-quarter points and fixed supports. The question asks for the moment at the supports, is this inherently zero as the arch doesn't carry moment?
In one of your videos of plastic collapse mechanism of truss, when you used energy method, you took external work done = (Applied force x displacement), but in this video, you have taken external work = area under graph = (1/2) x force x displacement. This is slightly confusing to me.
Thankyou for this video, but the stiffness of bracing(diagonal) is not included. Is this the reason why in question it is mentioned as approx deflection ?
