      It really depends on a few things. But one thing is how you drive the car. If you have a lead foot of course fuel economy will fall. Your tires also play a part, make sure to keep them in tip-top shape and in the right PSI. Lastly, try a different synthetic oil. I heard Valvoline Restore and Protect does wonders for the engine.

    I bought the hybrid version of this car 7-or-8-years ago and replaced the hybrid batteries not long after that (got LUCKY / had em done @120.K with th WARRANTY! ) & that turned out to be one of the best car buying decisions I ever made . . They only made the hybrids those years ('05-to-'07 ) with the V6s, which is CRAZY COOL,, becuz this car has more [stock] power than any other Accord out there. When U step-ON-it, you get the full power of th V6, PLUS the full POWER of th hybrid battery-pack, to boot ! Every single person I've ever let drive it, their chin's dragging the ground when they come back - they CAN'T BELIEVE how much power it has and still gets 25-to-30 in the city & 35+PLUS mpg on the highway, with the PURE POWER to pass ANYbody else, at ANY speed on ANY road ! I've got a buddy who does upholstry & I had him re-do the entire interior ( Just so it would be PERFECT ) And th day I picked it up, some douchebag retired-COP ( TEXTING, of COURSE..) rear ended me at a stop light ! Along with my trunk, I was crushed, with th thought that this beautiful car's life was maybe at an end, but when the insurance company wanted to total it, becuz they said it would cost more to repair than it was worth.. Because the hybrid batteries had been recently replaced, & were LIKE NEW ($2./$3,000.-repair..), I refused to accept her 'early demise', & bought it back from the insurance company, fixed the rear end ( bought a perfect used trunk off eBay for $500. bucks ) & I've been driving it DAILY, ever since ! Just fixin to go over 200,000-miles with it, & I don't see any reason why I wouldn't keep this car for the rest of my LIFE.. Runs like brand NEW (on REGULAR, of course..), th A/C's ice cold, starts every time, never been towed, and gets 27-to-37 mpg, everywhere I go ! & as soon as I have time to get her painted, she's gonna LOOK BRAND NEW, INSIDE & OUT . . I'm SURE I'll put half a million, if not A MILLION- miles on her, before it's all over. Only advice I have to anybody that gets one of these cars is, if you have the V6 - of course - do the timing belt (& water pump) every 80-to-100,000 miles, while getting the oil changed ( at Walmart for $25 bucks every 5,000 miles- they'll automatically give you Quaker State synthetic-blend 5W20 for that price, these days, believe it or not ! ), & change the transmission fluid every 50,000 miles. The only serious problem I ever had with this car ( turns out wasn't a problem really..) But apparently, the 1st owner of the car never changed the brake-fluid, and when the pedal got a lil' squishy on me one day, at about a 150.K, I took it to the local 'STEAL-er-ship", and they flushed the brake-fluid. But after that,when the brake pedal was STILL a little squishy, they proceeded to tell me I needed a NEW ABS-pump-thingamajig, & told me it was gonna be about a $2,500. REPAIR !!! Fortunately, I didn't buy their BS, & took it to a local Firestone place and had THEM flush the brake- fluid AGAIN, & I PAID THEM th $25.EXTRA, to flush the ABS module.. & guess what ? It worked perfect after that.. So change your brake-fluid out people, EVERY 100,000. MILES ! Only other advice I can give any of you out there, that want to keep a car goin for a long, LONG time, is go to your local Firestone 'shop', th next time you need an alignment and pay them the EXTRA $75 bucks to get a "lfetime alignment', then all the rest of your alignments are FREE, for LIFE.. HONDA ROCKS

Oftentimes it doesn't but there's a really easy fix :) I'm a Honda Accord person myself, had my first Accord 15 years ago, kept it for 13 years, and now have a 7th Gen Accord, the 2.4 EX+, great car as it also has adaptive cruise control and lane assist steering (electronic power assisted steering). Hope to keep it for many years, though in England our biggest challenge is rust.

    • @Jez1963UK
      @Jez1963UK 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No you don't. You can't see a timing belt as it'd be inside the engine casings. What you're seeing is the serpentine belt (older cars had just a fan belt). That serpentine belt goes around the 5 or so pulleys, starting down at the crankshaft, the AC, the Alternator, the power steering pump and then around the tensioner and one more (I forget, it might be the idler).
