Cycles Per Second - the dB's
มุมมอง 16K18 ปีที่แล้ว
The appearance was taped a few days before its March 7, 1981 broadcast. The city was London, UK. The show was a national broadcast on the nation's largest network. Three top-notch performances, one by each songwriter and with an instrumental thrown in. The dB's road manager on the tour, Dave Boxall, added genitalia to the show's logo of a performer's silhouette. This is clearly visible on the l...
Can't believe this was posted so long ago! Almost 20 years ago. I remember it from then too....
Is this whole show available?
one hit wonder! song was too short to get radio airplay.
I was at this game as a kid. What a moment and WHAT A TEAM! The crowd just erupting too after the goal. Great play-by-play call by Lee Cunningham too, one of the greatest.
Why TF is this not on Spotify ?
The old ice House with the wheelchairs and older 65 sat where the Zamboni came out of the north end home side net
Is Emily Hubley related to Faith Hubley?
Yes. Emily is the daughter of John and Faith, and she is the sister of Georgia (Yo La Tengo).

Look at these adorable babies.
It was quite a shock... after an 18 year gap... to encounter a bald Peter H at the Flying Saucer in Raleigh.

I can't watch this without thinking of the backing vocals and claps at the end.

the dB's were one of the most under-rated bands of the 1980s.....too bad they never hit it BIG....this is one of my favorites: my other favorites are Black & white, Neverland, Bad reputation, We were happy there, JUDY , Espionage and Ask for Jill

Not under-rated... obscure... Not given the opportunity of being rated. Never __under__rated. Not by anyone that ever heard them.
@@its1110 their first two albums are classics
@@rebjiii And not just the albums. Saw them live many times between '81 and '86. The material off those two albums in a club was intense! It's stuff you __could not__ hear and hold still.
Pure art
One of the most underrated bands ever. Thanks, XTC, and thanks Andy.
i do believe that partridge is a genius
I do believe this song is fantastic, studio or live.
forever my favourite song .
Wanda Strubbe Gorgeous. Glad I discovered it! Swiftly becoming a number 1 of mine.
Incredible song from a great band and one of the greatest albums ever recorded. So underrated.
More cool guitar playing! Yeah!
Love it!
I love XTC. Totally underrated and underappreciated. Go Andy!
A late 70s west country folk band. The like of which the British mainstream had the immense privilege of seeing once and once only. And, all of a sudden, the cupboard's bare....
Beautiful and challenging song. Great performance. I miss these guys so much.
I love this recording. What a great song and what a great band.
awesome, awesome! A live Mummer CD may have been a just the nail that was needed to overcome the loss of live performances. Peter Kroll, Singapore
Oh, please shut the fuck up.
or this year...
Great song! The only time they played it live!
HELLO..
I thought I'd just say something positive as no one's done so recently. I think XTC are the best!
I just came to this video because I was reading up on Infrasonic and the 7Hz death wave and thought it might hold some clues, reading the lyrics it kind of seems too. The music I don't like much, but it's ok for a one time listen.
Wonderful. XTC, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated bands. I must also put in a plug for Extreme. XTC deserved better. Thanks, Andy, for the music and dedication.
The best song ever made. It's absolutely my favourite song !
beautiful
Thanks for the mature response. I didn't actually get that from rumors, I have their biography XTC: Chalkhills and Children, it was stated in there. Have a great day Leslie!
No speculation Leslie, fact. Don't take my response as a negative against XTC or Andy. I love this band.
I would have loved to see this performed live. As it is, I enjoy it via headphones and love it...never gets old.
Please excuse my language, but I believe it is because Virgin Records is run by fucking idiots.
I love XTC.... very underrated, but that's OK. They are awesome. Thanks, Andy.
I am absolutely of the opinion that XTC are, musically and lyrically, the greatest band along with The Beatles and The Beach Boys. Their two decade long catalogue is absolutely stunning. I have recently purchased Mike Keneally's Wing Beat Fantastic album with most tracks written in partnership with Andy Partridge. It certainly is fantastic and my favourite album, dare I say, since XTC's Apple Venus Volume One.
How could virgin leave this off the single lp version of english settlement.
I've sort of given or taken XTC all my life with out commitment to their music. But know I am all over it, I bought "White Music" when it 1st came out and followed until "English Settlement" and lost interest. So many bands were flooding the airwaves! A. Partridge is a genius, a shy one at that which is fair to say. Saw them in Hollywood once when he basically had his back to the crowd for most of the show but it was still fantastic. His private life is his alone and should remain that way.
