John McCain will likely be the last decent man and true patriot that wins the GOP primary. I remember when McCain corrected one of his supporters that called Obama an Arab. He told the woman that Obama was a good man that loved America just as much as he did and that they just disagreed on how to solve the problems that America was facing. Steve Schmidt painted himself and McCain as a saints in this book The truth is they were the ones who decided yo bring Palin onto the ticket and she was the first step towards the modern Trump GOP. Schmidt has never been about anything. He's as empty as Romney. He spent years fighting to deprive women of anatomical autonomy and medically necessary healthcare, but as soon as his party puts up a candidate he doesn't like, his group The Lincoln Project starts doing pro choice ads. What happened to human life being oh so precious, Steve? He did a complete180 like it was nothing, proving that the abortion issue was never anything more than a evangelical dog whistle to the Republicans. I'm glad The Lincoln Project is holding Trump accountable but Democrats need to be very careful about getting into bed with these people because everyone seems to be a little too quick to forget who they really are.
