It`s great app but very often when i restart car it can`t find my usb until I physically unplug USB stick and plug it again. That bug annoyes me. Last update changed also that I can`t change setting until vehicklle is stopped. Some swcurity stuff. As any body know how to play video files on google system without Apple car play phone?

How do you stop the error message from constantly popping up asking you for permission to access the USB? The path that gives you in the screen is system settings downloaded apps but I can't find that path.

Can you play video through this app?

Watching this trying to do some background checking as a XC60 has been offered to me at, well I sure wouldn't describe it as bargain price, lets just say it's cheaper than other dealers will sell me one for. Great to hear an honest owners view than some motoring hack who's has the car for one week. I totally agree that £400 for the 1st service is excessive but you seem to question Volvo's legality of European law re: being able to service it at any garage? It's true, the owner can have his or her car serviced at any VAT registered garage and as long as it's serviced it with the correct Volvo parts and according to Volvo's servcing schedule, the warranty will be honoured. But you then say the car is leased? The owner can have their car serviced however they like - it would have been something that was part of the lease agreement between the owner and you. The lease company ( Volvo? ) are breaking no law. If you want YOUR Volvo serviced elsewhere, no problem, buy a Volvo and have it serviced elsewhere.

How did you set the driver display to have the maps show so big and the speedometer so small? Is there a setting to do that? I've seen a lot of videos with the maps a lot smaller and the dashes bigger. Thanks

I wonder if your XC60 has rear seat loosened? Mine is easily to shake with a hand and it makes noises on bad road. I'm curious if it's only about mine Volvo, I'm going to visit my dealer next week.

I had the same experience with the recall. There was a knocking sound under the car . When I brought it to the dealership to let them record the sound for volvo I was told there was a recall - first I'd heard of it ! They said it would fix radio issues - it didn't. The car frequently fails to change stations. A new problem is the remote starting ( the car is PHEV). It is supposed to remote start when the car is plugged in but the app tells me it can't because of technical problems . When the car isn't plugged in but the battery is charged the app tells me this function was cancelled at its most recent service - but the car has never been serviced yet ! It is an Inscription model with memory seats but they only remember to auto adjust once even after the dealership sets the memory fuction. Then it's back to pressing the memory button on the door if the seat position is moved. It drives well, looks great, feels secure but too many electrical / google interface issues. The dealership is great though

Wish I had seen this video before I ordered a new V60 recharge PHEV, would have bought something else. The volvo implementation of AAOS is chronically bad, amateurish design and missing functionality that we have got used to in the last 10 years or so. The mobile app is even worse in that it lacks functionality that is provided on cars half the cost. A major step backwards and your video is way too uncritical and complacent. These cars cost a lot of hard-earned money and frankly not worth the price paid.

I am 100 % happy with the previous system, wherever you are doing with your Google now you can do it very similar with you carplayer app and communicate with your voice control plus alexa. Also it was more fun to scroll left and right and see actually your car app. I got a brand new 2022 model, very disappointed and for this reason I'll take it in back to the dealer. Im going to buy a E-Class instead.

I’ve had many Volvos over the years , I sold my 2011 D5 xc60 R design last year and bought a Kia Sportage . 9 months later I’m back in a 2019 XC60 T5 R design . The Kia literally had everything on it but just was no where near as good as the Volvo .

voice controls are all good as long as you are native to one of the languages it understands well. But everyone else is left with having to deal with touch controls because its rare to reach a level of fluency where you don't have to think about what to say and on top of that, even for 1st language speakers, not everyone is good at expressing themselves and figuring out just the right way to say the command so it understands, as it does require particular phrasing even if it knows a few commands for every function, but button are much easier

Owning an XC60 for 2month now, and it's the worst purchase I have made in my entire life! 1- You buy a Volvo for its safety. However, for a very simple task like switching steering assist on and off, you must go to the deepest parts of the menu via the touch screen while driving. That's not what I call the safety focus of a brand! 2- Android system for cars is a joke at the moment. In the past two months, I had to hard reset the infotainment system (I learned it thanks to the Volvo owners forums) to resolve issues like Lost GPS signal, Malfunctioning Air conditioning in the middle of summer, voice command not responding etc... Have I not known about this hard reset, I had to take the brand new 90K car to dealer at least five times! 3-There are buttons that do nothing, and I have the highest spec possible. There are two on the steering wheel, as arrows to the left and right and do absolutely nothing! Why? Is it because you deleted an option or changed some setups? Then respect your customer and remove those buttons! 4- Driving dynamics aren't comparable to the ones of BMW, Build quality is not close to the one of AUDI and design is not close to GLC... Safety is what remains, and You buy Volvo because of it! Then, with that touch screen and removing every single button on the car, safety is more of the past story for Volvo! Worst and the most expensive purchase of my life!

please, how to get the map on the dashboard? I have an XC60 B4 model 2022.

First click the app (bottom left corner with several squares). Then click on the icon of Apple Car Play. It will ask you to click Agree and Accept the term of condition. Then plug in your phone with the white USB-C outlet. If you don't have the white one, try different USB C outlet. Then it should show that you have connected to it. If not, plug and unplug it again. It took me a couple of times before it shows up.

I do not have 2:1 or 2:2

Can anyone tell me why my software says it’s up to date though it’s only on 1.7? I desperately want 2.2 for Apple Car Play.

Mine was late to install as it would not install when first released saying I was already up to date with 2.1. It then did install and appears to work though you do lose the map from the drivers screen. My hey google function has stopped working however and none of the posted fixes has cured the problem.

1. Use original cable 2. Delete your phone from car and reconnect it (It will ask you to open car play) I have xc60 2022 and faced that problem with my bmw ix3

I think they released two version of 2.2, one when they found a bug and so removed all of the CarPlay functionality and then another later on when it was fixed which included it. So it depends when you upgraded as to which version you got. Think you were unlucky and got the version with CarPlay removed. The later version of it had it enabled.

Ive got the B4 r design xc60 2022 an mine is missing the leather gearbox lever the stitched one i dont know why they told me they received the car like that ... im in morocco 🇲🇦 also there is android but no google service at all no assistant 😕

Love your reviews. I'm in a very similar position as in I had a XC60 T5 68 plate & recently upgraded to a B5 RDesign 71 plate. I feel that the T5 was loaded & had fantastic functionality. The new one seems Volvo has taken a massive step back with a lack of functionality. My biggest annoyance is that the dealership never mentioned it as I traded the T5 in. OK Google is a good addition but the maps do lack some nice touches that Senus had such as speed camera notifications, I had a sim card that I used in the T5 which also gave my live traffic & hot-spot etc, the new one does have a modem built in which allows it to becone live for Google, so thumbs up. Another menu that has disappeared is the menu on the steering wheel which gave access to Media, Phone & Navigation which was incredibly handy & used it a lot, New car it's all gone & replaced with some pointless menus 'big thumbs down'. The new car has no external media input so you can't plug in a USB stick with music & play back via the infotainment T5 did so a 'thumbs down'. Like you, I really hope updates come through otherwise I'll have to consider another manufacturer which will be hard as my new car was my 3rd XC60.

Mate, got my XC60 MY22 serviced yesterday and 2.2 was installed with CarPlay. *I’m in the US (Florida). It’s the wired version, not wireless. No Android Auto though…

Brilliant car strong as a ox built properly the old way and very good on fuel .I’m on my second xc60, this time inscription up from momentum, find seats better aswell over the first one , I say to anyone try one over the Germans.

I downloaded the update 2.2 last monday the 11th, the update failed and completely bricked my car. The car just wouldn't start, wouldn't turn the petrol engine on, the battery would show 0km for hybrid mode. The car was send to the dealership last tuesday and they still haven't figured out what to do with the car. I'm 100% getting back to BMW after this

I am getting a inscription soon to replace my momentum, and the service I’m getting from the Sunderland branch is really outstanding, nothing is a problem, they have fixed some issues with the momentum with speed and skill if ever in north east go for a visit.

Hi, I've been following your informative videos for a while as I have a My2022 (late) XC60, not in the UK tho (Portugal) and its a T6 PHEV so a little different to yours. The Google OS is still the same as far as I can tell and your insights have been very useful, including the tips on 'AudioWagon' which as we know stopped working with the 2.0 update. However, along with Apple Car Play its back I am very pleased to point out. Its still a little clunky, including a new 'dismiss' that has to be done each time, but at least its working again. Strangely I received the release notes for 2.2 before the actual update, that's a new one. One aspect that is different that I've heard you comment on a number of times is that I do have drive modes, of course with the hybrid that makes sense but I wish they were on the knurled button like they were before, going into the main screen each time is a unnecessarily cumbersome. To address the comment from zeus01504, I received the 2.1 update in the Volvo workshop as I had a bit of a sensor issue for some systems, might have been pure coincidental timing but 2.2 came over the air for me yesterday. Happy to exchange info as and when, keep up the info flow from your side. Kevin
