    Man you are amazing. Please make videos on shortcut methods of design, like the thumb rules to check the design for simplifying equations. Sometimes, we dont have enough time to design manually the whole structures and because we have a lot of structures to be design in a consulting firm in a short span of time so we mostly trust software results because if we come to check every single beam and column then it will take a lot of time. So, I think there have been some shortcut formulas and tricks whom we check the design. Like the stress formula Strength = My/I to check stresses in foundation. Or there might be some quick methods to design short structures manualy rather than on software. using Aisc code

    At 3:05 for horizontal calculations, why divide 14.2 ft by 12 ft? Aren't we supposed to SW with 12 ft only?

    • @FrameMindsEngineering
      @FrameMindsEngineering 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The self weight should account for the total length of the stringer but applied along the projected length in the horizontal plane method. Otherwise we would be underestimating the weight of the stringer. Thank you for watching

      Of course the answer is how the arch is integrated with design features such as nature - West Virginia’s arch over the New River Gorge, or the Roman aqueducts across valleys , man-made equivalents like the Medieval churches in Europe. This is why I became an engineer to solve problems.

    • @FrameMindsEngineering
      @FrameMindsEngineering 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the eurocode does not specifically tackle the topic of castellated and cellular beams. However you can use the same principles shown in this video to determine the local forces in the net section and web posts. Afterwards you can use the provisions of eurocode 3 Part 1-1 for calculation of shear, compressive, tensile, and bending strength.
