Apologies for the high wind noise on the x7000 section, it was far louder than expected !

My noise has finally gone after it appeared 8 years ago. The internet company has gone onto fibre optic cable. January 9th it went over but I only listened on the 13th to 41m and it was quiet so I listened to 40m, then 160m to 20m where everything was quiet. I've got my hobby back. G4GHB.

Ordered the replacement parts for the travelmast andt they arrived really quickly - by amazing coincidence (or bad luck) the DX Commander mast base and plastic disc finally succumbed to the wind we have had in the last few days here in England, so lucky to have this mast again ! Now struggling with unlocking a very stuck together 'whip 10000'... but plenty more quality masts to try for at home and POTA activations. Thank you SOTA beams, and well done to the DX Commander mast, i think it last well over 2 years in so many weather conditions, i may order another spreader plate as there is nothing wrong with the pole itself - very strong!

have just come back from another POTA attempt - same result !!! think it must be the antenna / laptop combo, will try another choke on the antenna between the MAT Tuner and the antenna.

It would be great if you could make a video on how to calibrate the trap on a Hustler BTV. I search You Tube and could not find one on how to do it.

i am n the us & starting to build my station From scratch & i just got my 6btv together & put up the day b 4 yesterday So i am still in the tuning phase and i do not have the hinge base plate or the radial plate But we all gotta start some where as thy say . the assembly wasn't bad But the tuning is a Time consuming process/a bit of a bear imho ! I will get it where it needs to be for me (Voice) I just half to take my time n be patient n make sure its done right ! I may add Radials n the spring after ive had time to play this fall & Winter ..I already saw Huge Improvement over my old ant i was using for 10,12,15M & RX Only on the Rest like 15-20db Better so yea i am very happy so far !

A very worthwhile project, indeed. I wonder though, if simply installing a mini-jack into the body of the mouse and making the short connection to the circuit board inside of the mouse might not make the project look and feel perhaps a little bit more finished or professional. That way, the mouse is still quite functional with a very clean look plus you would NOT have to bother with the other y-cables at all. The plug on the end of your cw key would simply just plug into the new jack on the mouse. Everything is trim and neat then, no extraneous cables or tape to hold the mouse together. Just a thought for whatever it may be worth. By-the-way, if you adjusted the front screw on the cw key (the one next to the cable end) to form less of a gap, I think your sending would be considerably easier. There is a way too much play as it was demonstrated in the video. Thanks for the idea of the interconnect to the mouse in the first place. I've had several questions about DX Commander vs 6BTV. Currently the DX Commander *masts* hold up my 80M end fed antenna incredbly well, but for low maintenance the 6btv means I spend more time on the air, and not fixing antennas. Currently the 6BTV is in use for WSPR, and will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future as the end-fed does all the HF bands. Current radio on the 6BTV is an IC705 running 1W of power, it will in time be switched to a uBitX.
