This was the most amazing part of my medical journey. They made a phenomenal 3D model of my brain to show me exactly what was wrong. I got to put on virtual reality glasses and walk around the inside of my brain as though I was in a 3D video game. The large circular part was my cavernoma, the part they removed. Enjoy!

I hope the best for you
Thankyou so much for this upload! It is helping a lot for my job! Xx
I love this! I've been really looking into being a FGIT, but am having trouble figuring out the application process, like what is the job listed as?
Last Christmas I found out I had a cavernoma in my thalamus that bled. It left me with stroke like symptoms and changed my life. My whole left side is messed up. Coordination, balance, proprioception, strength, sensation, etc. The location is inoperable so I had gamma knife radiation treatment. I worked through it all, and felt almost back to normal. Recently the sensation loss has come back, and it has been very rough on me. I just wanted to stop in and say thanks for this video, and to let you know you aren’t alone!
Wanna ask you something regarding this ?
Amazing. Great job and so happy you are doing better. I enjoyed meeting you and your family. Hope to see you again!!!
PS... This is Rocky, not a Stalker. That was my football team name... LOL.
Very clever! Glad it went well!
YAY! I know her! This was great! You should write a whole one and send it into Weird Al. Love you, Manda. And your singing makes me so happy! Come visit!
Blesses you for sharing the raw emotions and your success with other that may be facing brain surgery! I'm in awe of your bravery Amanda! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Please excuse the typos, I woke up at 3:00am and watched this video, I'm not quite awake yet!
So craaazzzzeeeee
I adore you
Happy to hear the surgery was a success Amanda! Looking forward to seeing you at Fred and Marys one of these days soon. Heal up soon and God bless
I love that some girls are able to do this. I would love to be a FGIT but I tear up every time I see an adorable child so I would just be a soggy blob.
Why did this make me so happy 😢 ugh I swear i will get this role, I will get this job, I will be accepted and I will be amazing!!!!! -Tiara
fell asleep watching this because it was so relaxing
Awesome job! In DCP, is it only the summer you work?
Great job Amanda! Your voice is perfect :)
I'm a christian and have a boyfriend that's christian too...I would love to make it to DCP and have the experience in working there as a fairygodmother too, whar would be your best recommendations? Go together, leave for 5 long months w/o him or just dont go? :/
You are amazing! Thank you so much! I want to work at the boutique but I believe the roles are hard to get.
You'll never be good at nor achieve anything in life if you're a quitter. These I'm a quitter videos are pathetic. Especially if you quit at something as good as the DCP.Ain't nothing worth having easy to get.Show some huevos and make it work.
+tpcrb Remember what you said here the first time you ever quit a job, or break up with someone, or decide you want to move somewhere else. Essentially the DCP is a job, and not all jobs are pretty. You can have bad managers, co-workers, bad work environments even at Disney World. Try being 18 and working 50 hour weeks and 6pm-4am shifts at Magic Kingdom, all while being paid so little you can barely afford groceries and their apartment rent. (and then going back the next day and working 12-12 shifts!) Some jobs and experiences just aren't for everyone, and if you go through life judging everyone for deciding something isn't right for them you're going to find yourself a lonely person. People quit the program and go on to do jobs that actually pay money and help them along with their career. DCP isn't for everyone, and that's not a bad thing. A lot of jobs aren't for everyone. People change careers every day, it's just a part of life. It's nice that you think that you're better than everyone, and maybe it makes you feel better about yourself to say these things to strangers on the internet under a screename, but it's really uncalledfor to treat someone like that about a decision they made over two years ago. I don't know if you're a child or what, but life just isn't that easy. Not everything is going to work out for you, and I hope that when you have to make a tough decision like this you have people supporting you and not saying "well you're a quitter and pathetic!" You're the pathetic person here.
Wow! You are Fairy Godmother in Training goals.
I don't like to be away from my family either. I won't be applying until my sophomore year of college so I'm hoping that when I do apply and if I get the honor of going down and participating that my time away from home for college will give me a little taste of what it will be like. I want to be a FGIT as well! I do not have much experience but as you said in this video there isn't much experience needed beforehand. Thank you for sharing your story.
You are amazing! I really want to do this for my role and this really helped!
Thanks for being honest I am going to be in the DCP soon and I am nervous and a bit shy the video help :)
Your so good
Every one of these videos re: leaving the program early have one thing in common: homesickness.
+haroof My parents cant stand me so this will be a blast
what did you reply when the interviewer asked if you had an experience with a shy princess?
I have never ever been to disney land (>.<) I wanna go!!! wich one is the best?
I did my program the same time as you fa13 ! I wish I had met you, I am the same way at meeting new people, but Disney helped me open up a lot!
I'm here doing the program now and want to leave. how did you go about self terming yourself?
your voice is perfect for the role!
Hun, why don't you try Disneyland College Program? SOOOO much closer to Arizona!
There aren't that many spots, probably because disney in la doesn't cater to the DCP, the park in florida does. there are like maybe fifty spots usually for cast members already casted in disneyland in la, and a five hundred plus spots for dcp in florida lol.
No the DCP in Disneyland has about 500 spots, and its in Anaheim not LA lol. It is harder to get into ours, but it doesnt hurt to try!
I really appreciate your honesty in this video. Thank you for sharing! :D
I cannot help smiling when I look at your video. What a good fairy godmother you are:-)
Thank you for sharing. Some of the experiences you brought up is what is stopping me from applying for the program. I am from Canada, 23 years old, and an introvert. Even though I am of age, I do not party nor drink and being in that type of environment makes me feel very uncomfortable. I am quite anti-social but I can make friends easily if that makes sense and I know if I get there, I will want to be alone.
Hi! Im in CO, are you glad you brought your car?
Oh honey, I wish that I would have been your roommate at that time..lol..You should try it again, and really just go for it this time...Ignore the young and crazy and find some level headed people to be friends with...I'm considering the DCP right now for fall and I'm super excited, but I'm also worried that I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of young immature girls...YIKES...I'm going to be 25 in January, so I hope that I can find some older girls to room with on Facebook or something.
Did you have scholarships that got cancelled by quitting early? I'm so nervous to get there and want to come right back home, and if I do that, my scholarships getting lost. :(
its so great to hear different perspective of the disney program. Nothing can always work out however you want, isnt it? it really sucks. I wish I can do the program but at the same time im worried about my study as i live in Aus. And the thing is my degree has nothing to do with disney cuz i study nursing. but so glad that u at least got a chance to experience! great job Amanda
Aww thanks Kelsey! I hope you got in! Would love to hear an update. :)
Zayla Colquitt Sorry for the late response! Absolutely. They look primarily for experience with children. I had never done hair and makeup before, but I mentioned my experience with theater and childcare and that really helped me. :)
I live in Gilbert AZ!I did a program 2007 to 2008.I am applying over again, watching these videos are very helpful!
Hi Christina! That's awesome! Congratulations and good luck with your interview. :)
Thank you so much for sharing, you are a wonderful resource.I just applied to the program myself and I will take your story to heart when and if i get the chance to go.
Thanks Sean! Absolutely. Good luck to you and I hope you get in! I'm glad my story can help you!
I found these 3 videos really helpful, thanks for posting! I haven't started the program (or even accepted the offer yet, lol!) but I wanted to learn more about how leaving early would work, just in case. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences :)
Hi Suzi! Thank you, I'm glad they could help :) It is good to have the information just in case, definitely. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with! Good luck!
This isn't a question, but it is a comment! First off, let me say that staying as long as you did for your first time away from your home is impressive! I didn't do the program until I was 20 turning 21. Secondly, it sucks that your homesickness got to you so much! I totally understand that and I myself had days where I wanted to go back to Chicago and see my family and friends back home. I think in order to overcome that sort of pain though, you have to really just involve yourself in anything and everything. And Disney friends (at least, the ones I formed friendships with) made it so much more bearable! There's really nothing like having a Disney friend-someone that you just share that incredible experience with, you know? I think they're one of a kind. And they're special because like you said, your friends from back home don't know what Disney is like, but they do! Anyway, that's my experience lol. Out of curiosity, have you thought about doing another program in the future?
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words! I know I was too hard on myself when I first came back. I do my best now to remember I truly had a very successful summer and I am thankful for the time I got to spend there! Involvement is so important. If I could go back and do it over again, I would absolutely make more of an effort to meet people and get involved. I had some great Disney friends though - my roommates were so sweet and we spent a lot of time together! :) They truly are one of a kind. It is so cool to get to meet people from all over the world! I'm glad I can talk with them about my experiences and they totally understand. And about another program in the future - I have considered it! I am graduating college this spring, so my last opportunity to go would be Fall 2015. It's a possibility, and I'm thinking about it, along with other options :)
Wow this somehow relaxed me hahaha you sound very sweet and professional, it's a pitty the boutique wasn't around when I was a kid, I would have loved it!
Haha I'm glad it could relax you! :) Yeah we talked like that with all of our princesses, such a fun job!
