Really great vid this for showing me this <3
Yay! I am thrilled you enjoyed this!
You talk too fast!!
You can always adjust the speed I talk at by clicking the settings icon in the bottom right, then click playback speed, and adjust it from there.
You are such a good teacher .I love your easy to follow tutorials. Thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words! They are much appreciated!❤🧶
I’ve been wanting to do this with my hats - thank you, I’ll be looking up more of your videos!
Yay! Thrilled to hear that!
I am grateful for your helpful videos and wonderful patterns! Thank you so much for sharing your crochet talent. May God bless you! 🕊🤍
Aw, thank you so much for your kindness! God bless!🤍
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I lined the inside and made it for my cousin to bring in her eggs!! A great gift and super easy to make 🩷
Round number 11 no matter what I do I end up with 22 stitches, not 21 😩
Looks like it is actually 22 sts, oops! You can look at the free blog post here: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-dinosaur-stegosaurus/
I really love your octopus and your starfish patterns. I made a few of each as gifts which my family really enjoy. I would love to have a seal and a whale pattern. Keep posting your wonderful creations. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Aw, thanks for your kindness! I am glad you like them! Thanks for those ideas!❤
My stitch marker slowly travels around the figure. It won't stick to the bottom. Resulting in a crooked dinosaur. I've tried making one stitch less, right at the beginning, but then, it travels, just as slowly, the other way around the figure. What am I doing wrong?
Hmm… I would recommend keeping your st marker on the bottom side by doing a couple more sc sts and just move your st marker. Typically my st marker does shift while working each Rnd, but I don’t think it should go around the body. Hopefully that helps!🧶
I got lost on row 7! You say I should be left with 21 stitches, but when you add it up it only equals 20 stitches...not 21... I had 16 stitches in row 6 which is correct But for row 7 this is what I did.... First sc first 4 stitches = 4 then 2 increase + 1 sc = 7 then 2 increase + 1 sc = 10 then 2 increase + 1 sc = 13 then 2 increase = 1 sc = 16 then sc last 4 = 20 stitches........NOT 21 stitches. I went ahead and increased one of the last four stitches to make 21, but that is not what you said to do..... What am I missing?
Here is what I have written on my blog: Rnd: 7: Sc 4, *inc, sc,* x4, inc, sc 3. (21) Here is the link to the free pattern: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-dinosaur-triceratops/ Sorry for the confusion! Hope this helps!
@@sweetcreekpatterns Oh.... I see my mistake. At the end I did (2 sc) and not the (inc, sc) so I only counted to 20. Thank you for your prompt reply and the link!! I love the details you give and the camera work is well done.
@@marthaneufeld2920 Thank you so much! I have worked hard more recently to improve how slow and articulate I am in my tutorials. Thanks for your kind words!
Someone will write me a whole tutorial in com because I have to quickly stitch it up please 😊

@sweetcreekpatterns Thank you so much❤️❤️😘🎉
I found your octopus pattern recently and started my first one yesterday. It is fantastic! Looking forward to trying out your future patterns too!
Yay! I am thrilled to hear that! I can’t wait to share the patterns I’ve been working on!🧶
Thank you! My grandma made a baby blanket for me like this over 35 years ago. She passed away in May, and I want to recreate the blanket for my cousin's first baby due in June. My grandma taught me to crochet, and i searched in her craft supplies thus summer, but I didn't find the pattern. I asked my grandma about it years ago, but I couldn't visualize what she was saying. Watching your video, it makes sense now. Thank you.
Yay! I am THRILLED to hear that, thanks for your comment!🥰
Wishing you all the best for 2025!☺️
Thank you so much! Hope you have a wonderful new year as well!
I love your triceratops pattern. I made quite a few of them! I would like to see a capybara and highland cow patterns.
Thanks so much for those ideas! I really appreciate it! Glad you like the triceratops!
I just finished this stocking and love it! I opted not to use Faux fur yarn, I made pompoms from yarn and attached them instead of the ones she made. I used sage green and white for the cuff and the pompoms. It is super cute...thank you!
Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed making this stocking! Thanks so much for your comment!
Did myself a HUGE favor, watched the video and wrote out the pattern. It would have been very helpful to begin with.
The full free written pattern is actually on my blog, here is the link: sweetcreekpatterns.com
Very helpful, thank you!!
Oh you could do a bobble stitch for the eye too. Right
Yes, definitely!
I wasnt sure if I would be able to do this because I thought it would move to quickly for me, but I was wrong. You where very clear with how to do this and it worked up very well for me so thank you. I stopped at row 21 because I turned this into a chair cushion for my mother in law and she loves it. Thank you so much I look forward to doing more of your patterns.
Yay! I am thrilled to hear that! Thanks so much for sharing that with me!
@@sweetcreekpatterns Is there anyway you could do a Nightmare before Christmas blanket in the round tutorial??? That is my husbands favorite show and I would love to do a round throw or blanket for him and I believe I could follow your instructions to make one. Ive been trying to figure out for 2 years now lol.
@@amyroberts7248 Hi Amy! Sorry for my slow response! I typically don't do patterns based on movies due to copyright concerns, however, I appreciate you asking, and if I ever see a pattern like that I'll let you know!🥰

Are there any octopus patterns for thinner yarn, I can only afford dollar tree
Yes! I made this video when I made a smaller and larger octopus, so it should help! Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/PFjEyk0uuvE/w-d-xo.html
I love your use of faux fur. As a newer crocheter, I find it intimidating, but these tips definitely make me want to try it even more. I love how you use it to accent your stockings; I think it really makes your design pop!
Thanks so much! I love working with faux fur too - it's definitely a fun, textural yarn to crochet with!
Oh goodness, these are so adorable. Really loving the bone and fish patterns, too!
I am so glad you like them! Happy crocheting!😍
I just happened upon your channel today and I'm super impressed! I'm 30 years old and have been crocheting my entire life and I can't compete man, I am still a novice 😂 I would pick it up and put it down and rarely finish a project (hi, I have ADHD lol) but I've been learning and doing a whole lot more the last couple of years and actually finishing projects for a change and I can't wait to make your octopus (he'll be my first stuffed creation as well as arguably, the most complex project I've done so far so fingies crossed) and I am also so so glad you offer left handed tutorials as well!! One of my friends just started to learn but she's left handed and has had a hell of a time trying to find decent left handed tutorials and honestly, I tried to help her find some and, it is a STRUGGLE. So when I saw you offer both left and right handed guides, I sent her a link to your channel so fast! I hope you keep up the good work and thank you for doing what you're doing!!
Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me! I am THRILLED that you found my channel. I have had several crocheters tell me that the octopus tutorial is their first animal (or even first project ever) so I have confidence you can do it, too! Tell your friend that I am actually left handed (I flip my videos to be right handed when editing) and always had the same struggle to find left tutorials!
@sweetcreekpatterns oh no way! That's awesome!! I'll definitely let her know!! It sounds like she's already started going through your videos so I'm pretty stoked that her and I can both do the same projects together! I'm 5 rows deep into the octopus now so we're coming along lol I appreciate your confidence in me, hopefully he turns out! Merry happy holidays and I look forward to the next project!! 😊
@@sylvia12001 That’s awesome! So fun you can work on the same projects! You’ll have to let me know how it turned out! Happy Holidays to you too!❤🎄
Really nice can we get a pattern?:)
Yes! Here is the free pattern on my blog with the TH-cam video embedded: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-octopus/
round 14 on the body is super confusing!! 😢
I am sorry you’re confused, here is the link to the free written instructions incase that helps: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-dinosaur-triceratops/ Also you can email me at sweetcreekpatterns @ gmail.com if you have a specific question.
Ilove that someone so young is creating patterns. You are very talented. I teach ages 6 to 18 to knit and crochet and having someone there age create patterns will be a wonderful resource and model for my students to see. I am making this pattern as a gift for a students little brother.
Oh, how fun! I am thrilled at the thought of being an inspiration to kids! Thanks for your kindness!🥰
I had to slow the speed down to .65 and your speed is still impressive 😅. However I finished and it came out just like the pic🙌🏾 . Working on my second one now 💖
Yay! So glad you were able to make it! I have been working on crocheting more slowly in my videos 😁 if you ever need it, I do have the free written instructions on my blog: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet_mini_stocking/
I love this octopus! The only problem I have is theres no written row in the video. I have trouble processing audio and I think a row tracker/stitch tracker of somesort will help a lot of people.
Glad you like the octopus! The free written instructions are on my blog: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-octopus/
@sweetcreekpatterns Thank you! This will help so much in making christmas gifts.
@soursprout_ of course! Happy crocheting!🧶

@@theresaburg5881 Oh no! Glad you like the octopus! Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much!🥰
Vwry cute but confusing.
I’m sorry you’re struggling, perhaps the free blog post would help: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet_mini_stocking/ Let me know if you have a specific question, and I’d be happy to help!
I was wondering how I would make the dog bone shape if I was doing this pattern in just hdc? (I want them to match our other stockings I made for me and my boyfriend lol)
That is a great question! I would recommend following the instructions that I have for back panel of this (different) dog bone stocking: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-dog-bone-stocking-pattern/ The back panel for this is dc, but you could slightly modify for hdc, or if you think it looks similar enough follow the back panel exactly.
Love making my first octopus while following your instructions which are very clear. Thank you so much .😊😊😊❤❤
I’m so glad you liked the pattern! Thanks for your comment!
Do you know the pattern for that Christmas stocking? The white one with fur trim at beginning of video
That stocking is by my friend Ashley from A Crafty Concept, here is the link: www.acraftyconcept.com/crafty-boho-stocking/ I have a dog bone and cat stocking that matches her pattern, here is the link: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet-dog-bone-stocking-pattern/
Thank you Emily, such useful tips, I am quite chuffed that I managed to work some of these out for myself already, but the rest made sense, once you told us. I mastered the art of using this type of wool by making lots of fluffy ghosts for Halloween 👻, I left them hollow and put battery tea lights inside, so any mistakes would have show up. I enjoyed making your granny stitch stocking too, using it! Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you so much for your kindness! Merry Christmas to you, too!🎄
Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed the video! That’s so fun you speak German, my Grandpa grew up speaking German.
hello! so i’m working with weight 4 yarn and i’m wanting to make my star just a bit bigger , how can i go about making my stitches? i was thinking of just winging it like usual but i want this to be correct.
If you are going to make this pillow with #4 worsted weight yarn, and you still want it to turn out bigger I would recommend that you use 2 or 3 strands of the worsted weight yarn together, and use a bigger hook size. I would also highly recommend making a little swatch with the # of strands and the hook size you want to use to make sure that there won't be holes with stuffing showing through on your final make!
You have a wonderful voice but you are crocheting way too fast. I couldn’t tell what you were doing. I’m sorry
That is definitely something I have been working on. Please check out the free blog post if you are still interested in making this: sweetcreekpatterns.com/crochet_mini_stocking/
