Traffic is crazy lies. Afternoon traffic starts 2pm-9pm. Don’t even lie, because traffic is truly horrendous. People need to learn how to merge and stop doing a complete stop on highways when changing lanes. Cops need to police them highways more, because this shit causes a ton of traffic. Stop riding a lane to the end when you know you should’ve left that lane miles ago. To do a complete stop on the highway just to change lanes is wild. People can’t fucking drive in TX.

I wish Baytown City Manager and Chamber of Commerce would get it together. Baytown is dying….. no mall and they talking about putting a warehouse in that space - right off of I-10, what a waste. Lost the Raceway Park, lost the Battleship. Sure, fill it up with hotels that are going to get run down. They should encourage small businesses.

Ummm but let’s talk about how it’s all toxic land and how Crosby is a cancer cluster . These are the things people don’t really talk about . And it’s not as small as it once it was .

11:08 pm. Good job on a balanced evaluation. As far as coffee shops, Crosby had a local coffee shop that we frequented. We loved it….Connection Coffee in the log cabins on 2100. They struggled to stay open, and CoVid hit them when people didn’t flock back. It remained open, but you can’t stay open if the locals won’t support it. I can’t say I’m thrilled my little community will double in size in the next ten years. The small town feel is disappearing. And the traffic. They better build those thoroughfares BEFORE those homes are built. Which means now!

Which street intersection did you grow up? My mom’s parents bought in the early 40s - 6th at East Adoue (when it was Goose Creek) until they passed in the early 2000s. I was born in the old Methodist hospital in the mid-70s though the ‘rents were living in far east Houston-but the vast majority of my 30 years was visiting in Old Baytown! 💜💜💜

Baytown is an industrial town. It will never be anything more. I've lived in Baytown my entire life and work in the petrochemical industry. When I retire, I'm moving out. It's getting too crowded.

I hope to be moving there at end of this year. Wonderful tour; thank you!!!!

We were trying to buy a home in Crosby, but the realtor we were using, didn't even want to look at homes that were previously owned . She only wanted to show us new builds . We tried to make an offer on one and it fell through due to the realtor and the broker not being on the same page .

One major con not only about Baytown but the greater Houston area is HURRICANES. When I decided to move back to Texas. Because of hurricanes, I took Baytown and the Houston area off the list. Sure enough, about 6-months after moving from San Diego to San Antonio, Hurricane Harvey hit the area. Also, how can a city the size of Baytown not have a Mall? I grew up in Baytown but the Marine Corps took me away many many years ago. When I can, I always return for a visit even though I don't have family there anymore.
