This is Hemango Biswas' last composition based on a folk tune of Guangdong Province, China. In 1957 he was sent to China for the treatment of tuberculosis that he contracted in jail and that grew virulent during his underground years of the '40 s and 50's in Assam (initial years of Assam IPTA). He stayed there for almost two and a half years, learnt Chinese, wrote books (travalogues/poems/songs/ political analyses) and corresponded with his Chinese friends till the end. He went to the country twice again -in the years 1974 and 1980. This song is an ode to the beautiful Chinese landscape and its people.
