Generator house: Does deadening help?
We got ourselves a generator, and a doggie house to hold it. Is there a noticable difference in volume if we deaden it. We tried, no house, only house, stage one, and stage two.

Honda Prelude Gen5 Outer Door Handle - Quick fix
มุมมอง 1906 หลายเดือนก่อน
I found a quick fix (probably temporary) to solve the issue Gen 5 Preludes have with the outer door handle not snapping flush after opening. The cause is a piece of the handle snapping off and the spring not having anywhere to hold. This soltion has not yet been tried as a longterm solution (12 July 2024 as a starting point). Hondas Prelude Gen 5 Project #2

So I decided to strip the boot, and almost start over. This is because I have an additional amplifier, and larger capacitor to mount somewhere. I am also looking at changing the dual motorized shelfs into something else....depending on where everything is mounted. Now consider this, the amp adjustments are under the silver cover plate, and the plate is held in by 2 allen keys at the bottom. So ...
Amazing video! Im thinking about swapping my suzuki radio. I've bought a sony 1 din radio and I'm looking for a radio fascia now. Does enyone know what cable adaptor do I need? And if I will be loosing access to the wheel controls and the usb?
Thanks for the kind words. Go here: aerpro.com/vehicles/suzuki/suzuki-swift-2011-2017 In Australia this is a major supplier of car audio accessories. With the part numbers you can go to almost any car audio shop and order them. Yes you will be able to retain the steering wheel control. Have fun!!!!
I’m learning, how to do this. I’m wanting to have more of a SQ set up in my car. When going active, do you use the LPF/HPF or do you leave those off and use the DSP to set your crossover point? I have my amp in the off setting, frequency all the way up and I’m using my DSP to tune. Is this correct? Thanks!
Woah. This is where different people have different opinions on what to do. Personally, I use the amp HPF/LPF filters IF! They go past the crossover point you wish to use. For an active 2 way ( as an example) with a a crossover point of say, 3k, I would set the LPF up to 4K and the HPF 2k. This setting does not affect the sound but does give a backup if the DSP goes full range on every channel. I’m do the same with basic F/R/S setups. I use LPF of 120, HPF of 50. Does this help?
@ yes, thank you. I don’t have a way to set the crossover on the amp. Obviously there a knob, but without using a SMD Crossover Calibrator I won’t know where the crossover point truly is. Is it wise to have the frequencies all the way up, then use my DSP to set my crossover points? Thank you.
Which amp are you using? I can try to guide you through it.
Good luck with that
Hey mate do you know if your able to swap 2020 model into this 2015 model ive got identical headunit but wanting touch screen into it.
Never tried. If you have access to the one you want to use, I would check that the plugs are the same. Hyundai didn’t change the plugs too much but did change what some models did within the plugs. The speaker and power parts should be correct. Try at your own risk, is my best comment.
@InstallersAssistant thanks mate 👍🏼
Thanks for posting this!
My brother thought that was a good idea too until after burning up 4 generators in a year. Air cooled engines need air.
It appears that when there is the second layer if insulation, the sound just reflects off and makes it louder. You can use the same type of sound deadening that is used in a audio studio. Add a door for the front and if you have a DC connection on the generator you can use a car radiator fan in that rear round vent to exhaust the fumes and the heat. Make sure to keep those side vents open for incoming air. Just some thoughts. Good luck.
Excellent
Thanks for the vid. I didn’t notice the screws under the handle 👌🏼
life saver! I had difficulty removing the window up/down panel, i just unscrew without removing it😅
thanks man, my rear backrest was trolling and i wanted to make sure i was pulling it apart right, not into too many pieces XD

This video was helpful, however any recommendations for installation?
@@lanikasardin8243 best bet would be to hop onto Facebook and ask the local community. Then check the reviews.
Looking to upgrade my speakers in the doors but not sure if i need the component or coaxial, and if theres a video on removing the tweeters in the columns that would be greatly appreciated 💪💪
Coaxial speakers are good for the rear, but you need components (splits) for the front. I don’t currently have a video on the tweeter removal, but from memory, it pops out from the top.
@ awesome, i ask as some component sets have crossovers and the tweeters are separate from the door speakers so wiring would be a no go, wondering if anyone has a similar build
If you have a tweeter crossover, you are in luck as the speaker wire at the tweeter is the same (including colours) as the door speaker. If the crossover is a mid/tweeter crossover, I find it easiest to put the crossover close to the radio and run a new tweeter wire.
Hey mate. Maybe change your title to “Rear Door Card Removal”? 🙌
Hey mate. Your title doesn’t reflect the content of your video. Maybe change it to “Door Card Removal”? 🙌
Is there an adapter to go from the toyota plug to standard speaker clips? Or do you rewire the while thing?
Yes. aerpro.com/aps32 This is what you can use to make life easier.
Very helpful thank you! Question: do you know if the 2016 tablet style head unit can be swapped for a later model (2022) head unit? Are connections the same? Hoping this might be a slim possibility…. Cheers for the vids
@@simonn1493 not sure. You may have issues with the 2022 style plugs. They did change styles, but cannot remember what year.
Good video thanks
Hey mate I’m swapping out the ssv suede material into a sv6 as the actual door cards on my sv6 are in much better condition how would I go about putting on? I’ve heat melted the suede off the other door cards
I have not yet had much success covering door cards. I would be more inclined to just swap the entire door card with the style you want.
Thank you for your video. My internal door handle on my front passenger door does not open the door, but the outside door handle does. I will take the door card off and see what is broken, likely I will have the same broken "blue" connector on the end of that steel cable that connects to the back of the internal door handle.
Hi. Looking at installing a FM booster on my radio (same as in the video) but not sure where the FM antenna cable/plug is. Can you please help me
@@mjhmaree you will need a reverse antenna adapter to convert from the usual antenna plug to the one used on your radio. From memory, the radio uses a “Fakra” style.
Thanks for the information!

Hello, do you now how i can remove the low part of the panel??
You should have a target trace..
Hey man did you wrap the door panel parts in carbon your self?
May i know whats that tool called please? Theres already a dent in my dash from trying to pry it open and it didnt even get slightly loose!

By the way guys . The speakers on the dash are 2" 3/4 thanks for the likes :3
Good job 👍🏻
Is it different on the drivers side im having trouble??
No. The same technique for both sides. The top panels can be tough to pop out and sometimes the white clips stay behind. Sometimes I find it easier to remove the middle section first and sometimes not.
have a 2001 Toyota grace and need to take of the inside sliding door lock / handle
Amazing, successfully took it off added 1212 for the code and is locked now completely. 😅
Have you detached negative from the battery first?
@@JAVC1962 no. Hardly ever do. If the CAN is changing, or being coded, then yes. Or if dealing with airbags, the definitely!!
@@InstallersAssistantok, but you disconnected the airbag sensor at 2:10 An American user warned that it can activate the passenger's airbag if the power is not turned off!? I'm going to install Android "radio" instead of Clarion radio/CD these days on my Juke Visia, but I'm concerned about that sensor, which won't go on the new frame. Is it possible to remove that sensor from the existing frame and leave it connected but hidden under the dashboard? Thank you
@@JAVC1962 from memory those plugs are only indicators and not actual sensors. So logically you could leave them plugged in behind the radio.
hey mate, after removing the headunit/radio...my 2009 sv6 went into lock out with the error code 'security data mismatch security lockout" absolutely nothing works inside vehicle except interior lights and stereo screen error message. Any help or tips to fix this?
Start the car. If this does not work, it may have to go to a dealer. The radios are VIN coded, but usually clear after starting.
@@InstallersAssistant Thanks for your response. It wont even turn over so booked it in to tow it to the dealer. Sounds like it is as you said in your comment. Cheers mate.
Awesome thanks for making these videos mate 👍👍 How does the factory head unit go with the upgraded speakers? Thats another thing i want to upgrade on mine
@@gmholden63 depending on the speaker you chose, they will sound awesome or will need an amplifier to really get the best. And changing the radio will give more features and more control over the sound.

That’s the data cable between the radio/tape, and the seperate CD unit.
Thanks a lot , your video was very useful for me
Happy to help
thanks my dash is soft as butter with random pools of goo and the hazard/vents are already cracked all over from age so this definitely saved me from destroying it
Very common on ALL of this range of vehicles. Just did another one today actually..... same technique.
The clip below the hazard light stays stuck do I just pull it out?
Just fixed my cruise control on my 08 Sportivo aurion. Cheers for the great video.
Hi Marty is it the same process on the drivers side as well
@@coreyryan864 typically vehicles are practically identical between the two doors. The only exception is usually more plugs on the drivers side for things like mirror control and master window switches.
