Real Live Cold Call to a CEO (B2B Sales)
Here's the "I'm in the middle of some research" call opener in action LIVE on a call with the CEO of a national Home Warranty company
This opener works well on gathering info and dealing with gatekeepers (which should be the goal of a cold call anyways)
Goes like this:
"Hey {name}, I'm in the middle of some research and I think you might be able to help me, got a moment?"
People want to be helpful
You're not being aggressive, overly confident, or salesy, in fact the opposite
Follow that up with:
"Well I spotted {thing about company}, made me think {problem}, so I'm trying to figure who the best person to speak to about {process} would be..."
They either say:
1. That's me
2. That's Jeff
So you get validation you're speaking to the right person and can say "Oh my lucky day! Help me understand then, how are you going about that right now?"
OR you can ask for an internal referral/name drop to reach out to the correct person which massively ups your success rate on that convo
This was recorded during my live today where I was helping out someone I'm coaching by doing some calls on their behalf... I don't know much about home warranty stuff (looks like you don't need to) 😂

I use the "Can I take just 30 seconds of your time"? approach. And I stick to 30 seconds. However, most of the time it goes longer because the prospect has questions. If not, I just move on. As Sandler says "Some do, some don't; some will, some won't. Who's next?"

Great video @Sales_Feed! I've done a ton of intro-calling as a stockbroker (I never use nor think of my calls as "cold" because it creates and immediate negative image in my head) I think of them as intro calls and I approach every aspect of sales with the priority of connecting to other human beings who happen to run businesses. I know I will prove my value as a trusted & worthy source of powerful data and information to help them grow. I've watched a lot of Jason Bay's training and my style is most similar to his. I don''t use formulas, tricks, or make any kind of statement that sounds like an apology for calling. My attitude and stance is they're lucky they answered my call because I know I'm going to give them great value. Samantha was very human, natural, and I would have felt and heard her smile over the phone line and given her time. Morgan's approach is very creative and I'm sure effective because he's being very human, respectful, and uses humor to build rapport. I'm building a website and business to help sales people get over all the stress and tension they feel when they make intro calls. The person on the other side can "feel your nervousness, stress, and discomfort." I'm going to record live calling sessions, and they will hear how I try to connect on a human and business level, and how I'm nearly always able to get a laugh or at least a chuckle out of person I'm talking to . If any of you are free to do some calling and training with me, please reach out. I want to build a team of real sales pros who can help the next generation gain skills and comfort quickly. The training will be done on two to four hour Zoom calls and if you join me in the training you will earn a % of the fees. Keep up the GREAT WORK @Sales_Feed!

A 101 on how to prepare and run an online demo, if you are not doing the basics correctly then you are literally wasting everyone's time. This is only relevant to an online demo, which is much easier to prepare for as you can do all this research. It's always best to push for a face-to-face, but that's a whole different skill set

I got a performance plan as I’m not performing to the best of my ability in my role but I did it well in my last job. But what I’ve done is I’ve applied for other jobs, even had interviews So I’m hoping I’m successful So I can leave this job I’m not happy here the environment is toxic and I’m actually looking forward to leaving I’d rather leave then get fired. No I like the work but the company is not great but i acknowledge the things I’ve done bit will be given 90 days to be better. But I don’t want to stay. It is easier for me to find a new job.

REGARDING IN-MAILS- I Think the trick to being successful with inmails (50 per month) is to keep them very brief like a text message. My success came when I realized I needed to stay at or under 3 brief sentences. After doing this and seeing other people trying to sell me stuff that looked spammy, I took a very personal approach. Also it is important to get most accepted so you can vastly exceed 50 in mails as opened ones are instantly credited back to you, so realize how much will show up in preview Example: "Hey Jack, Your cybersecurity company looks completely different than all of your competitors. I wanted to learn a lot more about how "BLANK" works within it... Do you have a few minutes to chat in the next few days? " Using "your company" instead of the company name sounds like a friend or relative asking. Reading this, am I a sales person with a solution to the "blank" with a highly targeted ICP (ideal customer profile) selected or am I a potential customer? Are they likely to be open to responding and wanting to talk, or at least opening the full message so it doesn't count against my 50? Short answer is that it works MUCH better than you might expect. In mails are priceless if used correctly in my opinion which is why I threw in an example that could be widely used for nearly any company or salesperson That example is ripped from success in Sell-Side mergers & Acquisitions, but you would NOT even be able to guess that based upon the initial message. You can read it over and over and still have no clue whether I am a potential customer or a M&A sales rep attempting to sell his entire (tech in this example) company. Just a thought, but if you are burning through in mails I promise its worth a try... I have a challenge going through 50 in mails because business owners, founders, and ceo's keep opening them.
