I can see you're all very sincere and beautiful people. Your voices are soothing and reassuring which is what people desperately need during a crisis.
What a privilege to be able to help the wonderful people of Fiji :)
I PANICKED and was about to call a locksmith when common sense kicked in and I googled "key won't turn in lock". I would have felt so stupid ! Thanks, saved heaven knows how much money.
How about actually doing repairs for a change on the houses under your management? My issues I can think of straight up ... * Fascia boards are ROTTING from a leaking gutter maintenance REFUSED to fix citing "it's not bad enough yet". * The bathroom ceiling is 3 shades of white from repairs and is still stuffed. * The numpty plumbers hooked up the drain at the front door (flooding issue) to the TOILET sewer not storm drain so any visitors at the door hear the dunny flush. * There's a light socket near falling out of the ceiling that's been ignored. * The carpets wreak (stink) and have since before we moved in , if you close the windows to go out for the day, it near makes you chunder the stench upon returning home! We were promised from the morons in the Musso office when you had out of area calls that someone would fix/replace the carpet but YET ANOTHER BROKEN PROMISE FROM HIP AS USUAL!!! * The addition of a whirly bird or two would make the house semi-liveable in summer since the insulation is stuffed and missing in areas. * On the topic of insulation, our roof insulation is fully laced with rat crap and there were crappy baby nappies and everything in the ceiling but the crew you sent out to clean it just sat in the ceiling on their phones AND DID NOTHING then I was told that HIP won't clean a health hazard because "that would cost money". * The flooding down our driveway (amongst other areas) has destroyed the crush gravel we put in there and caused damage to my angle but the HIP way of fixing it was 2 bags of tar then cover it over and hope for the best because "we're not spending money on that regardless of the safety risks". Remember many tenants are falling through their floors and receiving injuries because you "don't have enough money to do repairs"!!! So imagine your tenants reactions when we find out you pricks won't fix a damn thing in our houses because you've "run out of money" but then we see you spruking about sending money overseas. What a bloody disgrace! Next time I bust my ankle on the driveway I'll take you to court instead so you can send some of that funding my way in the aspect of the damn repairs to the house you're supposed to do!
Hi Glen, thank you for your comment. I have passed on your concerns to your local branch. Please note we cannot discuss tenancy issues on our social media platforms. Thank you.
Worked great....Thank you so much 😊
Lo plis where
I used electronic duster compressed gas cleaner and W-40, and problem solved. Thanks for the input.
that's your job as a landlord
Nuhaka
Mauri ora compass the happiness you guys have put in these people's lives
Far better than HNZ !!
Wow thats great.... maybe Home In Place ..Can put there next Rent increase on hold For low income households in these hard times.
I actually used W-40 using same method and it worked perfectly
the issue with WD-40 is that now it will collect dust, eventually jamming up the pins, hence dry lube or graphite should be used.
You are a thief
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and the corrupt government is encouraging it. We'd rather be in private rentals (or better yet ownership if our health was better) but we've got no chance with the current pricing and unfortunately (no offence to HIP on that one) are forced to rely on mobs like HIP to have a solid roof over our heads.
Is there a way to contact Max? I have a degree in Japanese, and would love to help
Hi Christie, that is very kind of you! Please email Shane at info@growastar.com.au and he will pass your contact details on to Max and his family 😊
australian governments used to have a department of housing and construction, not just housing but airports, repatriation hospitals ... all sorts of things that are privatized now....
We need a real government back in power instead of the ones that want to keep us homeless.
If you had an understanding of materials needed to build homes .... You wouldn't be so critical ! A lot of timber, is imported from overseas. We also had a Pandemic ! Homelessness has been rife since the Depression !
Now they'd rather sell it all off, force those they've made homeless to move on each time they're spotted in their camps (the only thing they can have left), and then imprison them for not moving on when they have nowhere to go. Oh what a change.
Is this a rent it keep it as in keep your rent good and you can rent there forever or a rent try buy type setup? It's a tad vague sorry.
Hi Glen, thank you for your question. Rent it, Keep it, is a program that we occasionally run across our branch locations. It is simply a workshop that aims to provide information and skills around maintaining a successful tenancy. It isn't a program that measures individual capacity, rather a program to assist those who are interested in entering the private rental market - or maintaining their current rental. I hope this clears things up - Jacob
@@HomeinPlace appreciated. We're ok "managing our rental" though if it was some type of rent/try/buy initiative then you REALLY had my interest. I was speaking with our local HIP staff this morning about a few things and they've had zero complaints with us thus far which has been good.
No problem, Glen 😃 Glad things are going well up your way! I just spoke with Michelle, sounds like the breakfast in the community area went well this morning too. - Jacob

How did they get this footage when they didn't bother to show up on the day? Was most disappointed with their lack of interest when even SBS came.
Hi Glen, this was captured the following morning as 7 News were fully booked the day of the event. Thanks again for joining us! - Jacob
I still say that whilst the lack of housing and exorbitant rent prices are the bigger issue, it's a shame they had to wrap that project into a COMPLETELY different story. Did this come from that link I sent in out of curiosity?
Hi Glen, while we agree that the housing and rental crisis is the major issue at hand, we are thrilled that the media are covering the importance of Community Housing Providers. Small steps towards a common goal! Which link are you referring to? - Jacob
Well done Kim and Bev Hopefully onward and upwards for Scott
