@@HarpistAngelina Thanks for your reply, Angelina! Seven months ago, you asked something similar in my previous comment I left on your 'Feed The Birds' performance, and I did respond. But now I'm not sure if you caught it. It might have escaped your notice 😀 Meanwhile, there have been some changes. About four months ago, I started my musical journey with the low D whistle, guided by TH-cam tutorials. Motivated by curiosity and my love for Celtic music, I embraced the challenge to give it a try myself, and now I'm a happy whistler! 😀 And I still wouldn't label myself as a musician; maybe I'm not giving myself enough credit 😄 Any chance you might bless us with some new video uploads in the near future, Angelina? Pretty please? 🙏😀 Meanwhile, I love to walk in your enchanting Garden of Music, appreciating and enjoying the many blooming musical flowers already around me 🎵🌹😊

Hi, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🙂 I love Britten and can't wait to perform the Ceremony of Carols this Christmas. The Suite is so good although I admit I haven't got round to learning it properly yet. Are you a musician?

@@HarpistAngelina The pleasure is all mine! I listened to it multiple times 🙂 I would consider myself mostly a composer these days, but I also am a violinist. I have a small amount of harp ability from being involved with a harpist though. Britten has written some of my favorite works, the 1st Cello Suite is one of my all-time favorites. But as far as Harp goes, the Britten Suite, Hindemith Sonata and the Berio Sequenza (it's amazing) are definitely my top three Harp pieces. I could talk about this for a long time, so I'll cut myself off before I write a novel 😅

@@Aaron-xq6hv oh yes they are all excellent pieces. I particularly love the Hindemith. Have you ever listened to The Crown of Ariadne by R. Murray Schafer? That's a fascinating piece for harp and percussion.

@@HarpistAngelina I could listen to the Hindemith all day. I've been neck-deep in Harp stuff trying to write things lately (so much Salzedo), I hadn't heard of this piece before, but from what I've listened to so far, this is exactly what I'd like and I'm really glad you showed this to me. (I've also been wanting to write for percussion lately). If you have any particular extended techniques you're fond of I'd love to hear what you like.

Hey, thanks for your comment :-) you are very kind. My advice would be to practise the arpeggios very slowly, but also play them in dotted rhythms for that even sound. Use the metronome. You will get there! Just keep up with the slow practise xx

@@HarpistAngelina I bought my first harp, Cresendo 34, in February of this year. I am taking local lessons. Hope to play therapeutically someday with a "walk about" harp.

If you wanted to learn the harp with me you would need an instrument of your own to bring to your lessons. For piano, we can use the piano at my house for your lessons. Hope that helps!
