In the past five months, I have traveled without any incident, equipment failures or concerns of such from the Florida Keys, to the Bahamas and all the way up the East Coast to NYC and then further up to Portland, Maine. Not once, has there been any failures from any systems on this prototype hull. The Hull #001 has been a #ProofOfConcept journey to test what we like, what works and to determine what will be added or taken away from the future versions of the DSK Marine Kraken. In the past two weeks, many upgrades and the first annual dry-dock maintenance program was implemented to fully sand and refinish the entire bottom paint on this vessel. I am very happy to report the Ultrasonic Bottom system was flawless with zero growth upon the hull after sitting in the water non-stop for the past 12 months. Refinished with the industry's best @PettitPaint #BlackWidow bottom paint, this product has stood the testing of 6000 nautical miles with zero growth in the past year of being in the water from the Northeast to Florida and the Bahamas.
Another item of maintenance was the replacement of all the sacrificial anodes, replaced with OEM @MercuryMarine parts. We figure, why cut any corners on a perfectly operational platform when it has performed flawlessly this past year of testing.
One of the best additions to the Kraken Prototype is the installation of the @allsaltmaritime3685 #SHOXS #ShockMitigating seats at the helm!! These seats are #GameChanger for the Kraken and will be standard in every vessel going forward!!
The Kraken Super-Fly has a fully electronic suite powered by Solar and outboard generation of power. There is no on-board generator necessary with the incredible @VictronEnergyBV battery control system.
Each of the four staterooms have their own 8,000 btu climate control systems with twin 16,000 btu units in the Salon!! This is over 5-tons in thermal control, perfect for keeping your COOL in the Bahamas or Florida Sunshine!!
