This channel will have a variety of tech topics that I find interesting including travel tech gear, networking, virtualization, Digital Forensics, Incident Response, Linux, etc.
My personal interest is on Digital Forensics and Incident Response using free and Open Source tools but the general information along the way would be useful to anyone interested in getting started in Linux, System Administration, Digital Forensics, or Incidence Response. We will be using Linux tools to perform forensics on Windows machines, Macs, Linux, Android phones, iOS devices, etc. We will also be using Windows tools to perform forensics as that's the majority of the market so I cant ignore that.
If you are a LEO (not the zodiac sign; you know who you are), feel free to reach out to me if there is anything I can help you with.

In this video, we are going to be looking at the fastest way of imaging a hard drive from a computer. Should I image to an E01 or dd? Should I image to an NTFS drive or ExFAT drive? In this video, we are going to explore the speed for imaging using different output formats and also how the filesystem of the destination drive affects the speed.
If you enjoyed this, please share this knowledge with someone else. I am grateful for your help.

hello can i do this with Password locked samsung 21
I have not tried but I highly doubt if this would work on a locked phone.
I use the Logicube Falcon Neo and I will try to replicate your results and check back.
I am very curious to find how the Neo does, thank you.
Dude - you are an excellent teacher. Love your videos!
Thank you for the compliment!! Thank you for watching!!
This is great. I wonder what type of linux architecture the tx1 is using? I know both cain and palading are based on Ununtu which is debian based, perhaps tx1 is arch or something else? In other words, it could be the OS slowing it down.

Are you able to share the data via a hotspot?
If your phone has the hotspot feature then yes, you can share the data via your phone.
@ Thank you for letting me know.
Great explanation - Question please, I note when scrolling through the cruiseline options as you were purchasing the GIGSKY package I did not see CUNARD as a valid cruiseline. Are you able to confirm or otherwise if GIGSKY would work with Cunard (Queen Anne)? thanks.
Thanks for the compliments on the video. As to your question on GigSky working on the Queen Anne, I dont have an answer for you since I dont work for GigSky. But you might want to ask Cunard if the Queen Anne has the Cellular At Sea service as that's what GigSky needs to function. Enjoy your cruise!
love it

Glad you like it. Thanks for the comment!
Is this travel router basically instead of buying package for like 4 devices we can use this trave router and buy one device wife and access it in all 4 devices???
Yes, it can work that way. But I like to use it for the security features and also ease of setup. So when I am going from hotel to hotel, I just need to setup the router at each hotel and all my other devices just need to log into the router and they dont need to be setup each time.
I get an error when running the script at this point: "dism.exe /Mount-Wim /WimFile:Temp\boot64.wim /index:1 /MountDir:Temp\mount". I get additional errors after that that are similar. One of the errors is Error: 50, and the other is Error: 2. I unzipped the WinFE on a sanitized USB. I've tried with the USB formatted in both FAT32 and NTFS file systems. I get the error either way. When using the USB on the source machine, I get the option of either 64-bit or 32-bit environment. After I make the choice, it acts as though it is going to boot into the WinFE environment. A PowerShell window opens with the command X:\windows\system32>wpeinit. The next line just shows X:\windows\system32>. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?
maybe i missed it but how do you copy the ovpn file from the lxc container?
ah, that's a good question and I may have glossed over that. In my case, I setup an internal share with using Snapdrop (it's like AirDrop but for all system, not just Apple machines). But you could very well have used a thumb drive to transfer the keyfiles from the LXC container to other machines.
Sir. Can you help. To remove password of Intel ssd. Thanks
unfortunately as far as I know, you will need the password to remove the password. Otherwise you can do a secure erase which will remove the password but you will also lose your data.
Would I need to clone my phone's mac address as well?
You should not need to clone your phone's MAC address. Only if the captive portal only allows one device to sign in and you already used your phone to do that.
@@BlueMonkey4n6 Thanks
Thank you so much. really grateful🙌
You're welcome 😊
Hi BlueMonkey 4n6, thank you very much for the insightful video. I live in a place with only access to captive wifi and have a sleeping tracking device that is not able to connect to captive wifi. With the operations described in the video, it seems like your method should get the job done. Just want to make sure: once you connect to the captive portal through the router with device A and connect device B to the router, you don't have to connect to the captive portal with device B right ? Thank you in advance for your answer.
Hello, you have a really great practical usage for the travel router, thank you for sharing. You are correct that once device A has set up the router to connect to the captive portal, device B connecting to the router should not need to deal with the captive portal anymore.
@BlueMonkey4n6 ok cool!! Thanks you 🙌
When boarding did you put this in your regular luggage or did you carry the router on with you? I’m only asking because I guess my fear is them opening up my suitcase and taking it.
I had it in my luggage along with my non-surge protector power strip. I am not trying to hide anything from the ship. I know some ships ban these devices and I am not trying to skirt the rules.
please make videos about your complete DFIR kit too, i'll be waiting .....
ok, I will put that on the list of future videos to make. Thanks for your interest.
Can the router be portable? Can one take it all over the ship to have multi device connectivity?
Yes, I use a battery pack to power the router and put both in a pouch and was able to walk around the ship with the wife and we both maintained connection.
Only problem: it's not unlimited.
yup, the more data you use, the more it will cost. But it is a good solution if you just need to keep in touch with emails and other tasks that doesnt require lots of data transmission.
@ What would be great is if Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile could install native 5G coverage on the ships, free to anyone with a plan. With the speeds and capacity of Starlink, this seems possible
@@davidempire4874 I am sure it's technologically possible but I think the telecom companies only care about how to milk more $$ from their customers 😁
@@BlueMonkey4n6 But they could make more money from this as it could be a selling point
In case of a forced reboot, will the system get up and running or will require human intervention?
My Proxmox server is set to restart upon reboot and then restart the various LXCs so they will keep running without human intervention.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
Glad it was useful, thanks for watching!
Hi great video. Any chance to upload the image being analyzed?
The image that I used was from the Autopsy training so you can take that class and get the image from them (I dont think I can redistribute their images without authorization). You can also look at downloading images from digitalcorpora.org or cfreds.nist.gov which has a great variety of images from various CTFs and challenges. Happy Hunting.
Will this work with tails os? Same thing with me it shows no wifi adaptor or drivers so I can't run tails os
It should although every time you reboot you will need to redownload and install the drivers unless you change your boot ISO
After enter the command to generate the make files , I get ...10 aclocal not found, autoheader not fouind etc. Any ideas?
What distro are you running? maybe aclocal is not installed on your system. perhaps doing the following would help: $ sudo apt-get install autotools-dev $ sudo apt-get install aclocal
@@BlueMonkey4n6 Running Mint and that fixed the problem. Thanks!!!
Oh great, glad that worked for you
Airalo has way better pricing
Airalo is a different service than GigSky. Airalo connects to local mobile networks so it will work great when you are on land (or at least close to land where your phone can reach the cell towers.). GigSky works both when you are on land AND at sea where there are no cell towers. It uses the Cellular At Sea satellite signals to transmit data.
Wonder if this would work on Carnival ships
Carnival and Royal are have banned routers. Not sure how thorough they are searching for them. But even if you're successful in getting one on board you'd still have to keep it hidden when the cabin is unoccupied.
@jaybee5832 yeah, i think most cruise lines have policies against the routers and I hope they dont have the room stewards looking for them in our rooms.
Thanks bud
Thanks for watching!

Running inxi command shows, command not found. lsmod command shows iwlwifi is loaded. sudo modprobe iwlwifi does nothing.
hi, can caine read the connected flashdisk, because I will format the flashdisk for later imaging and cloning, thank you.
Ok, glad you found this useful
The router has its own WiFi signal?
yes! the router creates it's own WiFi network so that you can have devices like the WebCams connect to it.
Thanks! Good video. Why bluring public keys :D? They are meant to be public also if it's your VM then also I wouldn't bother bluring private key ;)
Haha, you are correct. I think i was just in the habit of blurring things out!
WELL DONE. An excellent and thorough presentation. I have a question for you. I have SEVERAL monthly trips on Celebrity planned from Tampa to New Orleans, Mexico and Grand Cayman on a supported ship. Am I able to turn GIGSKY off when in port and use my T-Mobile plan so as not to use GIGSKY minutes/bytes? You made this look simple and I am VERY IMPRESSED by your smooth delivery.
Thank you for your compliments! In regards to going on shore and using T-Mobile, yes you can just switch your phone back to your primary SIM when you have T-Mobile. Then once you get back on the ship and it has sailed out of cell range, you can switch back to your GigSky SIM. Have a great time on your cruises!
You mention that you would prepare a video to address the assumption that public ip is static. Is that video out or still on the pipeline?
That video is still in the works. Been distracted with other things. Thanks for asking, i will bump it up in priority
@BlueMonkey4n6 great stuff, thank you!
Good video. How much did you pay for these flights?
I believe a non-stop or one-stop roundtrip between Honolulu and Guam is about bit over USD$2,200. If you add the 5 stops from this video, the price goes up by USD$1,000 or so.
@@BlueMonkey4n6 sorry what I meant was how much did you pay? or did you use miles? if so how many miles was that for?

can this methods to be using for fix some issues such undetected/unrecognized/corrupt microSD or flash card ? how to do that with Kali ? , , i have ready install Kali in my android tablet using termux
Corrupt media such as SD cards and Flash cards will probably need different process to determine the process. But i would start with fdisk or parted to look at the partition table to make sure that is mot corrupted. Once you determine the filesystem format then there are filesystem specific tools to determine if the volume is corrupted.
Hi I plan to try this eSIM in my coming MSC 7 days Bahamas cruise. Just a question here. When I am at sea I need to turn off airplane mode & my T-Mobile cellular plan and turn on Gigsky cellular plan to use? Am I correct? Thanks Update: 12/8/3024. Just came back from my NYC to Bahamas cruise. I honestly do not recommend to use GigSky. After I landed on Nassau and back to NYC my entire 2 to 3 days at sea has no data at all. I try to toggle whatever option it has no signal. So frustrated.
Correct, when you are at sea, make sure you turn off your t-mobile plan and turn on GigSky plan.
did you try it? gig sky on a cruise out at sea? was it good as ship internet?
@@klle3419 Yes, I did use the GigSky eSIM when I was out at sea, that's why I made the video to show how it works. The speed was around 2-3 Mbps which was around the same speed as the cruise WiFi in my experience. You can see the speed comparison starting at 3:20 of the video.
@I am using it at sea when I reply your message. It took a while to establish the data when it start. Once it’s on it works very well. However when I am at a new port then back on sea it’s takes while to establish the data … it’s kind of frustrating when I wait and wait. My understanding is you need to be a further away from sea in order to set to work. Again once it established the data it works very well. Update: no good no signal when I am at sea from Bahamas to NYC. I don’t know what’s wrong I did? Just frustrated. I got good signal when I am from NYC to Bahamas. Still is within 7 days plus I did not use up my 1GB data.
I hate Zorin OS 🤣 Only one that gives me problems
The good (and bad) thing about Linux is that there are many flavors you can choose from. Try something different 😉
@@BlueMonkey4n6 that is the really good about linux thank you! I'm new to linux but really like Debian and Q4OS. I am just fixing a friends old pc and really enjoy learning about linux. I just need to find the right linux to change him and Zorin just looks super nice. Thank you for the video and great explanation!
How do you get around the captive portal on the other devices though? Surely, once one device is connected then it’s going to detect a device is already connected
Thats the whole point of using the travel router. The router is the only one connected to the ships’ wifi so the router signs into the captive portal. Your phones, tablets, computers all connect to the router not the ship so they dont encounter the captive portal.
So the video of how to pass through a physical disk shows you how to pass through a USB device ... thumbs down dude! Rename the video to "how to pass through an external hard drive" - then it'd be accurate at least.
Great work!
Thank you!
This method seems to only repeat the cruise wifi, though. When you register your decive to the cruise, I would think it will record the Mac address. So don't you need to clone the Mac address in the travel router? And if it has a captive portal, how do you log in from the travel router?
We just came back from cruise, and this did help us save on wifi! Though, I did have to make additional config such as cloning the Mac address and disabling all the firewalls. So thank you!!
@ken62310 Glad you found the video useful. I am just curious which cruise line were you on? I wonder why you need to do MAC cloning and tweak the firewall.
@BlueMonkey4n6 We were on msc. Their wifi have a separate activation page where we have to use the msc app on the phone to activate it. Once activated, only that Mac address can access it. So we have to clone the Mac address. Additionally, in order to get on the wifi, they have a separate captive portal page that needs to sign in every time we move to a different AP. for some reason, the firewall won't let it pop up. So we have to disable it in the router.
@ken62310 Thanks for sharing the info on MSC with great detail!
